No XCOM 3, making the experimental spinoff game the final entry.

XCOM was always about the atmosphere, the looming, unknown threat and overwhelming force bearing down on you. Working as cops to keep down some crooks does nothing for me.

xcom fricking sucks, no matter what i do, i literally cannot stop countries from leaving the xcom organization, it's completely fricking ridiculous. after five fricking play-throughs i rage quitted and deleted the game. shit fricking game. i wanna like it but the game is just fricking shit!

you're supposed to lose a few dude, same with missions and troops
        stress less

Downgraded from fighting a uphill battle against a seemingly unbeatable enemy to city cops doing parking tickets.

Not enough Viper brothels. Should have had a side mission where you take the squad to the viper brothel and watch snake strippers all night and get laid.

Should have been a VN that explored the civilian side of things more.

    >Quips non stop
    >Too easy.
    >Half the characters get op after a few levels
    >The other half is useless
That aside, I muted the voices and skipped all the cutscenes and enjoyed the playthrough. It's basically xcom2 lite. Breaching was a nice addon

    >You're playing as cops.
Cool, so spec ops cops that are doing what?
    >Stopping terrorists.
    Cool, what are their aims?
    >Kill all the ayys that invaded and slaughtered millions of people.
And we should let them finish the job then, frick 'em.
    >But they didn't do-
Human lives matter more than the slave ayys that were experimenting on and slaughtering people enmasse.
Even then we still spend more time shooting up fricking alien cartels than fighting the terrorists.

The entire premise of the game's story of Earth taking in ayys as refugees should have been impossible based on what we know of how they lived under the Ethereals in XCOM.
    >genetically altered for subservience, violence and weak-mindedness for easy psionic domination (and frickability in the Vipers' case)
    >raised like animals, trained only to fight in wars
But no, five years later and a crash course in English and they're all Marvel-quipping urbanite homosexuals baseding out over the newest diverse restaurant to open up downtown to visit. Frick off, actual cavemen or kids raised by wolves would have an easier time adapting than the ayys and I really hope CS isn't canon for XCOM3 (LOL)

    Vipers can stay though

      >HOW DO I PLAY MY WAY OUT OF THIS
The game doesn't have a failure state in the missions so just lose or die or whatever to restart and play it properly in a way that doesn't end up with you having put yourself in such a situation

      Your characters are fine

It's been a while since i played but I kept eating shit the first or second boss siege which snowballed into penalties for not being able to complete or taking massive handicaps on standard missions afterwards

It's from the timelime when we defeated the aliens by making them gay.
I like modded xcom 1,2, with my own characters and their stories on ironman.
The setting of chimera is uninteresting at best, the characters you're forced to play with are unbearable.

I don't mind the premise of mankind working to reverse engineer alien tech and unfrick the mutated slave races. Part of XCOM is using every advantage, so it makes sense to deny Ethereals resources and unite against a common enemy (also viper sexo, etc.).

However the tone and setting of Chimera Squad is moronic. The usual interchangeable slop from idiots trained on Marvel movies and progressive idpol. We got some of this in XCOM 2 with the Chosen basically being Guardians of the Galaxy villains.

The gameplay is fine, its a good change on the formula and the doorkicking is exceptional.
Its just that it comes packaged as something moronic.
