>try this game again with my bros after years of not touching it >first few matches are pretty fun, slowly getting the hang of things again >then we start getting paired up with all the +1000 hrs players who destroy us easily for the majority of our playtime >they're always using the octane with the most ugly looking cosmetics ever, in a game with like a hundred cars to choose from >try matchmaking for a more fair match up >it's smurfs everywhere >also friend who had to get it from Epic has constant crashes related to the launcher shitting itself mid game for some reason >dropped it after a week
>game hard gatekept by skillgaps
I'm almost interested but team based games are always garbage

>Bought the game cuz i was relatively interested in it >Few days later read that the dev was bought out by epic >My interest literally disappears as soon as i read it before i even played it
it was fun when it came out and everyone was on equal footing and aerials were impressive
since then they got israeli with microtransactions and the playerbase was just nolifes who ONLY play rocket league 24/7 and nothing else which isn't fun
Nothing. It's just a grind to get better, like breaking rank barriers is insane. The trick is not to get angry at the game and just have a good time with friends.
I always felt like this game was much for fun for competitive play, because every match is only 5 minutes long (not including the goal pausing and everything), so even if you are losing it's quickly over. On the other hand, I remember playing CSGO and you just feel SO shitty when you are getting dominated, half the time because the bullet spray is random as frick and doesn't even rely on skill, and the other half of the time because you know you still have to endure 30 minutes of this shit before you can move on.
Rocket League is fun. Just don't pay for anything except the rocket pass, and don't worry too much about rank.
Nothing, but i think i hit a hard roadblock and it takes out a little bit of the fun.
Rocketleague is very good in making you feel miserable when you feel outskilled since every mistake is plainly obvious and since matches are only 5 mins and very fastpaced theres no real break.
At champ you just need to start learning mechanics where you easily spend 1000 hours alone in practice mode
Because the skill gap is fricking insane. The average SSL will still get consistently steam rolled by an actual pro. There's no crutch to rely on except your own ability, making it a never-ending grind to "git gud." Doesn't differ too much from fighting games, the average person will generally quit early and play something else that gives instant gratification. Another issue is that the community is filled with rabid passive-aggressive zoomers that will crucify you for each mistake you make as if you just shot and curb stomped their dog to death. It's the worst yet best game I've ever played.
>Another issue is that the community is filled with rabid passive-aggressive zoomers that will crucify you for each mistake
Its one of the least toxic games with the friendliest community out there. However, i play on c3 so maybee thats why.
I only remember platinums to be very toxic and dellusional
Here in C1, getting past that rank tier seems to hyperinflate people's egos. It's the Dunning-Kruger effect in full force. However, there are definitely a lot of chill people as well. Doesn't quite come close to other gaming communities where you're more likely to be toxic because you're stuck in a game for 40 mins instead of 5.
Same thing that went wrong with counter strike, tf2, overwatch. A flood of 2 billion third world 7 year olds who own a Playstation but don't have a credit card. They thank you for giving them another *free* game to play.
its too hard and players are getting too good
the average GC1 would literally be a professional player in 2016
95% of people wont get out of diamond
>game hard gatekept by skillgaps
I'm almost interested but team based games are always garbage
Even todays champ 2 would destroy the pro scene from 2016.
Watching 1s players become more and more insane is pretty cool and I can't even imagine getting to someone like YANs level, I'm hard stuck at gc1
GO EPIG GO BROKE
It still has more active players than it had on steam
cute cope, epicjeet
Just too difficult for humans

Too many try hard losers with thousands of hours.
Nothing went wrong
Except for non generous loot crates
Rumble ranked is going solid and that's all I need
it was fun when it came out and everyone was on equal footing and aerials were impressive
since then they got israeli with microtransactions and the playerbase was just nolifes who ONLY play rocket league 24/7 and nothing else which isn't fun
I remember playing it so much in 2019
shame they sell themselves out to epic
Everyone here is weak. This game is atheltic, and only the strongest will survive.
Never before has a game made me so tilted, and five minutes later made me feel so skilled.
Curious game, truly athletic - olympian even.

what will i gain from that shill?
It's basically the greatest game ever created.
Nothing, but i think i hit a hard roadblock and it takes out a little bit of the fun.

I spent there over 200 hours as a goalkeeper lmao
I'm stucked en c1-c2 it's over

I mean okay, c1 was pretty toxic with a lot of ballchasing morons aswell
the game is really good at showing you your skill ceiling which can turn some people off but overall I think it's almost a perfect mp game.
