so many years wasted for a UI 'update' when he couldve worked on actual mechanics/content. took up a publisher who gets 15% of his money when he didnt really need to. keeps choosing people to help him almost solely based on forum post count.

He went from living on donations to being a millionaire in a few weeks from the steam release. I'd say it was a good call.
Nothing. They actually made good changes and made millions with their Steam launch. They didn't even remove the old version. You can still get the LazyNewbPack. They have done everything right.
The real question is What went wrong with you? Did your parents ignore you, or is it your small penis?
At the very least this whole situation managed to get Toady to let someone else help him with the code. So we might actually see patches and updates come quicker now. Steam Workshop support is also nice, and once DFHack is actually updated we should see some more good shit being pushed out when it comes to mods.
People in general do not understand how logical the old UI was once you actually grasped how the different layers of the game interacted. All things being considered the new UI is better than I was expecting at first glance, but it definitely needs some work to be as useful as the original. Really fricking annoyed that some shit is outright missing though like being able to set Hunter uniforms.
like 8+ years of adventure mode only content being added that's reduced the overall framerate by 60%
other than that, good game
steam release plays nicely but DF2012 is still the best version
meds
what did the mediterraneans do?
sold out

And also being able to afford some other autistic with actual coding skills to fix his spaghetti code

Did he choose one guy, and it was someone who made mod content
nothing, it's really good
no adventure mode
This right here.
You know who enjoys Fort mode?
Turbo-autists who already play Dwarf Fortress
You know who enjoys Adventure mode?
People on Steam with money who like games that are actual fun.
the devs became woke
>became
I wish the new UI was a "premium" exclusive feature like the ugly tileset too, I don't want that shit in the new free version.

This wasn't in the steam release
Lack of good hotkeys and removal of making quick craft orders/appeal to mouse babies who are afraid of using a keyboard
