The PC multiplayer also struggles with shit like the Devs being actively friendly with certain groups of cheaters, meaning some groups can basically openly hack without seeing bans, or at least a guaranteed appeal.
The Devs are fricking shady pieces of shit. This is the same game that was selling its season pass before leaving early access. This is the same game that sold a second season of DLC wihout even finishing the content of the original season pass.
This is the same games the devs hurriedly reskinned as a pirate boat game and sold under the title “Atlas” as a Sea of Thieves competitor, only for the game to basically be abandoned on release and significantly worse in quality than even the still unfinished Ark.
It’s not a good game because it doesn’t have devs who can make a good game.
As a final note, they’re currently working on the flop sequel of this game, years later, and they still never went back to finish they original dlc content they sold.
They’re gonna make and release an unfinished sequel of their first unfinished early access.
>and they still never went back to finish they original dlc content they sold.
What original DLC did they not finish? They finished Scorched Earth, Abberation, and Extinction.
>recommend some cool survival games with basebuilding
it depends on what you're looking for
if you want the full autism experience then there's a few extremely janky games that are quite fun once you get in the loop
empyrion, 7 days to die, project zomboid and valheim are games like that
if you want something more refined (and most importantly out of early access) then there's icarus, conan exiles and grounded
the genre is full of shovelware moronic games stuck in a permanent early access phase, with a few gems scattered in between
incomplete early access shit usually has a lot of community made mods and patches that "complete" them in ways the developers never do
refined games with AAA quality are infested with all the common nonsense you'd expect from the industry, from season passes to microtransactions
my friends still play it occasionally on private server, we all just frick around really. >one buddy collects literally two of every available tame on the map >another engages in a eugenics program of breeding super-dinos >another has a farming system going
as for me, I like to build cool big houses bases, only to abandon them to go work on another.
The push for deeper PvP was a cancer eating this game from the outset. The PvPnuts were some of the worst players in both attitude and actual gameplay, which is probably how cheating and duping became rampant and necessary in clans consisting of them.
All of the alien tech tree stuff was a fricking mistake.
bad optimization
the game is too big and the devs could solve that by simply having the game be compressed, you can do this yourself and reduce size by 40-60% or more
unoptimized graphics
bad end game design, bad server administration, i would stick to private clusters
For all its shitty flaws, i still have gotten 4k hours on it but i quit years ago, it was quite comfy on a private cluster with all the maps.
Big dinosaur fan here, how do I enjoy this game while I wait out the dinosaur gaming drought? Ive learned I dont really care for survival crafting games but my dinosaur autism is strong and I think there might be something here worth playing that I didnt find in my one hour of gameplay I did a year ago. Mods? Game settings?
taming dinosaurs takes a ridiculous amount of time and they have no use outside being essentially overpowered vehicles you have to feed every now and then
on top of having to feed yourself with food and water
if you don't like the survival crafting aspects then the dinosaurs in the game won't make up for your distaste of having to forage berries every 10 minutes
that and also many of the dinosaurs are not real and made up nonsense, some of the maps have literally anime tier fantasy animals like dragons or nine-tailed foxes
Minecraft, but modded
All I remember is people b***hing that the game was claiming to still be in Early Access, yet already having DLC on sale and available to play.

It became less and less about taming dinos and building cool shit and more about pvp and the multiplayer.

Haven't fired this up in years. How's the single player?
I got this game for free in steam, is it worth it?
No
i remember that sudaca thirdie shitskin that got the game free on steam months ago spamming the board with threads praising it kek

and to add to this, the only reason you want the biggest dinos is for pvp.
if you play solo it's a massive waste of time even with tweaked ratios.
