I first thought so as well, but no they're supposed to be blood-related.
Apparently they thought that Vin Diesel's ethnicity is ambiguous enough that pretty much anyone could've worked.
I always thought he was some sort of Hispanic, but not even he himself knows. >His mother, Delora Sherleen Vincent (née Sinclair), is an astrologer.[6] He was raised by his white mother and adoptive African-American father, Irving H. Vincent, an acting instructor and theater manager.[5][7][8] Diesel has stated that he is "of ambiguous ethnicity."[9] His mother has English, German, and Scottish roots.[10] He has never met his biological father, and has said that "all I know from my mother is that I have connections to many different cultures";[11] Diesel believes that his parents' relationship would have been illegal in parts of the United States due to anti-miscegenation laws.[12]

Part of me wants to say Far Cry, cause theyre kind of nonsense action games but usually a lot of fun. But they also have fairly interesting, if not pulpy stories and interesting characters, and have a good sense of self awareness. F&F doesn't to the same degree.
Filming during COVID + behind scenes drama added ~100m. Next movies will have a more reasonable budget and since this has better wom than the last two universal will get their money back.

Power struggle between vin and universal over how to end the series, vin wanted a trilogy but universal was worried that would kill the interest in the franchise.
In the end vin won so he demanded script changes and reshoot scenes and it seems to be working so now he has them by the balls.

Reminder that Toho has coproduced the films since the fourth one.
Clearly, Japan is one of the biggest markets for these films.
Fast & Furious and Jurassic World are consistently Toho's biggest co-produced franchises.
As for their domestic Japanese productions, the Makoto Shinkai films are their biggest hits, even compared to Godzilla.
Your Name. is their biggest success in general while Suzume did huge numbers in Asia, even if it wasn't quite as big as Your Name. or even Weathering With You in Japan.
Most of Universal and Paramount's recent films since 2009 are coproduced by Toho.
By now, Universal and Paramount are just two flavours of "Toho of America", which is weird that the MonsterVerse went to WB instead of either Universal or Paramount.
Universal and Paramount are basically puppet studios of Toho at this point.
But it's sad that we get tons of Fast & Furious films while we rarely get any classical Showa-style tokusatsu or kaiju films from Japanese Toho nowadays.
We also rarely get arthouse epics from Toho nowadays like what Akira Kurosawa once made.
At least we have Makoto Shinkai.
Yeah, I like the first three movies the best two. Actually features car culture shit. Fast Five was fine but everything after felt like it was trying to replicate it but does it worse.
Has to be God of War
Was cool for the first few titles, but they decided to keep milking it with the main character being an old bald man over 40. Someone who is old enough to get hurt by sudden movements to his arms and legs if he doesn't stretch each time he needs to do an action scene.
>for most of my childhood thought the fast & furios movies where based on the need for speed games >mfw need for speed got a movie and flopped >now grand turismo is getting a movie that will flop
why dont they just make a fucking driver game or something holy shit
That has always been the case. Their highest grossing film globally was Fast 7 with 1.5b and domestic was 353m. This is a series that wasn't made for us but overseas markets.
I used to see the trailers for Fast 6 and 7 and thinking "man these gotta end at some point right? They're probably not even making any money anymore"
And then I see that they're literally one of the most profitable movie franchises in the fucking world.
Legit question, HOW????? This shit literally prints money out of nowhere.

Plenty of people who don't use twitter think the same. Tons of people here think the internet is controlled by twitter and it;s the biggest site around. In reality it can barely make ends meet and has like 1/10th the userbase of facebook. At least in facebooks case like 33% of the planet uses it.
>Legit question, HOW?????
Some fucked up boost after its lead actor dying and hollywood is that bad, enough for a bottom barrel ip like f&f to get sanitized by a chink into a lame run-of-the-mill action flick.
For the last decade and a half China has been fucking obsessed with big special effects-filled explosion movies, actual plot be damned, which is why shit like Transformers or the Fast and Furious flicks have lasted so long, to say nothing of Warcraft not even breaking even without China's theatrical run.
Warcraft didn't break even even with their help. Also most of the movies, barring warcraft, would still gross well over half a billion even without the chinks. They're just popular movies, quality be damned.
Doesn't sound bad at all; those movies have a distinctive personality at least.
I don't understand the feeling of superiority people have over those that watch these movies. WHY? You play video games and watch capeshit. You are the lowest of the low.
I genuinely recommend going back and watching the first Fast and Furious.
Not just for how much the story went from "guys committing heists with cars" into superhero shit but how good the action and choreography is and how much care they put into the cars.
The new stuff, for how over the top it is, is boring. They'll have giant shootouts but nobody acts like anybody's in any real danger, henchmen with guns don't even act like they're trying to hit them.
Anyway, more to the point.
Resident Evil.
The first game was cops investigating murders in a nearby forest and being forced to take refuge in an abandoned mansion filled with monsters. Then the 2nd and 3rd game up the ante, showing a city under threat of a mass zombie outbreak, with giant monsters pursuing our heroes and ending with the city being nuked to hell at the end.
It's honestly kind of fluctuated. >Code Veronica starts with Claire shooting up an Umbrella office, being chased by a gunship, and then taken to a private paramilitary island and then Antarctica >RE0 kinda goes back to RE1's scale as an immediate prequel >RE4 is a little more reserved, cuts off all the fat of the overarching plot, and focuses on CIA Agent Leon S Kennedy investigating a cult in rural Spain to save the president's daughter >RE5 immediately goes back to insanity, the classic RE1 cast now heads up a quasi-PMC, Wesker is threatening to genocide the world with his bioweapons >RE6 keeps the insanity even up, starting with the on-screen death of the fucking POTUS by Leon's hands, and ending with zombie-bombing RE universe Shanghai
Time will tell where RE goes for now, but going off the lingering plot points of RE Village it's likely unless they take good lessons from RE4Remake, we're going straight back to the insanity part of the spectrum.
Games aside, they're going into "fuck it who cares" Fast-style territory with Jill being brought into the post-RE5 world in the latest Leon anime, magically having slowed aging.
Vin is honest and lowkey a geek goof, the Rock is just a guy with lots of personality that became a diva and crashed WB's hopes for riding the capeshit wave from Marvel.
Vin Diesel barely does anything besides his own franchises(F/F, Riddick, and XXX briefly) besides playing Groot. Yeah he has Seagal-tier shit like the Rock, like not being allowed to lose fights written into his contracts but at least it's contained to his own nonsense rather than him trying to insert himself into something like John Wick or James Bond or something.
The Rock actively tried to hijack the DCEU to reorganize an entire superhero franchise universe around his character, even attempting to go around the heads of the studios with his own muscle and doing shit like the Henry Cavill Superman cameo, as well as derailing Captain Marvel in general by refusing to show up to be the villain in Shazam 1(where the comic book the movie is based off of has Black Adam as Billy's first major antagonist), because of the aforementioned "The Rock is not allowed to lose fights," then started shit on social media, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one bruteforcing the live action Moana film to happen when the movie is barely 7 years old.
>and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one bruteforcing the live action Moana film to happen when the movie is barely 7 years old.
Hollywood is so creatively dead they're rehashing their newer movies now?! Damn lmao
I think Moana is just jumping the line over other stuff because the Rock is trying to find a new place to live after DC kicked him out. That and him coming back to the Fast & Furious franchise too.
They even got the girl who voiced Moana filming a hostage video saying she wont be playing live action Moana and someone more Pacific Islander should have the role
Whose idea was it to have the fucking Justice League answer to Waller? I am so fucking sick of that bitch, and now BA is telling me that Superman, the prime good, takes orders from her?
And can we fucking stop with the Globohomo "rich asshole that has terrible Globalist opinions fucks up everything, but actually is 100% in the right" trope? Ironman, DCEU Batman and now Hawkman. They all fucked up everything, and only the Snyder Cut dares blame Batman for what shit fucking decisions he made.
And who fucking casts The Architect as a superhero and then decides to cover his face with some lame fucking golden helmet for 95% of his screen time?
Do people actually believe this? I get people not liking MoS because it was just so fucking bleak and the killing Zod was the cherry on top. But come the fuck on Clark literally bawling his eyes out he had to murder an absolute piece of shit that was nothing but horrible to him is different from "we just murdered a camp full of innocent men and the biggest ramification we had is feeling a bit awkward when we realized they were all allies"
Not to mention Clark was suplexing drones on American soil because he just didn't want the military in his business, and this particular group were for the most part pretty nice to him. Waller is both evil and incompetent in the DCEU, there is no reason for Superman or frankly the JSA to humor a phone call with that bitch.
Also the real point here is characterization means nothing for super hero stuff because you can just retcon it, say it was an alien, say it was Satan etc. So none of it matters anyway. Superman killed someone today? NOPE! That was, uh...aliens from Venus. yeah! Fuck comic shit. It can all be summed up in this image.
Diesel literally did nothing wrong.
How can you think Diesel was in any way wrong when The Rock got so butthurt about certain scenes in F&F that he refused to appear "notably" shorter than Diesel's character in the series.
Fast and the Furious movies aren't meant for Americans. I think after like the 3rd one or something they stopped filming them in the United States and switched to third world countries because they wanted the foreign market and foreigners like seeing their country in movies
Yeah, as much as foreign gays pretend to hate the USA they simultaneously can't stop jamming the worst parts of our cultural cock into their esophaguses.
Exactly 0 thirdies hate the USA unless they have an IQ above 120
Most are just buthurt by the fact that they don’t live in America and that there are rules and laws that limit their ability to just move there immediately.
Even the average Chinese who will spout party lines about how evil America is because of some battle in 1950’s Korea or something will still slurp up Americans garbage and fantasize about selling grandma’s organs to move to California.
I don't understand the feeling of superiority people have over those that watch these movies. WHY? You play video games and watch capeshit. You are the lowest of the low.
It's dead, let it go.
The first one was a fluke, then Vin got big dick and thought he could have his own Space Conan, then when that bombed he was like "okay I'm putting it back the way it was!" and tried to recreate Pitch Black again but that bombed too. There's nowhere else to go.
I mean the last 3 or so movies he was in were bombs, not counting the whole dceu fiasco behind cameras, so he is probably considered box office poison now
Pokemon, FIFA (rip), Madden NFL, and The Ubisoft Game. I say game because they only have one game but sell it under different titles like Assassins Creed and Far Cry
Also, the Japanese thanks to Toho coproducing the films.
Then again, Fast & Furious basically turned into a live action anime parody of Hollywood blockbusters.
Unironically FNAF, in how it started off as a simple horror game about possessed malfunctioning possessed animatronics and then turned into an unironic sci-fi urban fantasy saga involving convoluted necromancy methods involving children's souls and 300 IQ schemes between multiple characters and entities
Basically all nintendo asset flips. >b-but fast and furious has over 10 movies

>Superman
>prime good
You mean the murderer? DCEU JL is barely a step above the suicide squad in morality so it fits
>Had to
lol.
In terms of escalation, Payday. At least from the crazy things I've heard, I haven't gotten into the series.
Final Fantasy
In both cases the seventh one is the best one
Call of duty and Ass Creed, normies-tier shit that makes tons of money and comes out every year or two.
>nearly a 20/80 dom-int split
Holy shit
Even the average Chinese who will spout party lines about how evil America is because of some battle in 1950’s Korea or something will still slurp up Americans garbage and fantasize about selling grandma’s organs to move to California.
>my opinion smart, other opinions stupid
ok reddit
Ubisoft
Probably call of duty.
New one every year, all style no substance, big ass explosions, guilty pleasure, make a billion dollars everytime
After a certain point they become super hero movie slop. First couple were good though.
Fast and Furious is kino

What the fuck is this supposed to be? They turn on a magnet to catch the car in the truck?
Yes, its straight the magnet gun of red faction latest game
The moment they started running over people with that Tank, that's when I said to myself "No more Fast & Furious for me".
A guy in my theater said BULLSHIT and everybody laughed. And clapped.
Did he put shadows rising from strangers of paradise in his airpods as he left the room?
Need for speed
Yakuza
>act 1 of the movie is a rocket league cross over
For me, it's:
I don't understand the feeling of superiority people have over those that watch these movies. WHY? You play video games and watch capeshit. You are the lowest of the low.
>Ganker
>playing video games
For me it's
Asscreed
WHEN'S RIDDICK 4 VIN? WE NEED MORE VIDEO GAMES
It's dead, let it go.
The first one was a fluke, then Vin got big dick and thought he could have his own Space Conan, then when that bombed he was like "okay I'm putting it back the way it was!" and tried to recreate Pitch Black again but that bombed too. There's nowhere else to go.
They're still making fast and furious movies? lmao
isn't fast & furious just naruto but hollywood
Call of Duty is unironically the best equivalent.
1&2 were actually pretty good
4 was probably the best in the series (Tokyo Drift)
And then the rest were just dogshit cashgrabs.
Tokyo is 3.
>killing off John Cena
They got to be kidding no? China wont like this
They want him
Wasnt executed with ice cream in a car as the meme?
Rip Bing Chilling

AHHHH DIESEL-SAMA FORGIVE ME LET ME BACK IN. DISNEY WE NEED TO MAKE MOANA AGAIN I GOT NOTHING LEFT
Is he really fucked up at acting? LMAO
I mean the last 3 or so movies he was in were bombs, not counting the whole dceu fiasco behind cameras, so he is probably considered box office poison now
Hey, pal! Always a home for you right here.
La roca y vicente house
The Wheelman
Pokemon, FIFA (rip), Madden NFL, and The Ubisoft Game. I say game because they only have one game but sell it under different titles like Assassins Creed and Far Cry
Not sure what game series is US made, sells mediocre domestically, but does exceptionally in China.
Who watches this crap and why did you need 10 movies of it.
The same people who kept the Resident Evil series of movies going. The Chinese.
Also, the Japanese thanks to Toho coproducing the films.
Then again, Fast & Furious basically turned into a live action anime parody of Hollywood blockbusters.
People who don’t enjoy gaymoron woke oscar films i guess
Sonic = Fast
Doctor Eggman = Furious
Ubislop
Unironically FNAF, in how it started off as a simple horror game about possessed malfunctioning possessed animatronics and then turned into an unironic sci-fi urban fantasy saga involving convoluted necromancy methods involving children's souls and 300 IQ schemes between multiple characters and entities
Do people still go watch these movies?
Then again people still buy the newest yearly sports games
Recently I watched 8 of F&F movies, it was pretty fun sometimes. It's also clearly self aware. Come on.
Also 8th movie was meh.
>a franchise where the 7th instalment is the best in the series
Easily Final Fantasy not pun intended
Anyone here who is trading in game companys or movie studios or have genrell knowledge about stocks/ shares ?
resident goyslop
Saints Row, obviously?
is it true they shot it like this becuase these two couldn't stand each other and didn't want to do any real face to face scenes?
probably more because vin is a manlet
They are standing side by side the whole time
Are they shy?
>Austin Powers vs Minime
Basically all nintendo asset flips.
>b-but fast and furious has over 10 movies
And there're 50 mario games, 29 zelda games and fuckin 122 pokemon games. But Ganker will still suck nintendo's cock.
>122 pokemon games.
No fucking way. How many pinbal pokemon games or something of that nature have been made?
>B-but Nintendo!
10+ mil sold on TotK btw.
>a video game series that starts off pretty simple, but gets wackier and crazier with each entry trying to top itself, but the characters treat the situation in complete earnesty.
Resident Evil prior to 7.
