    EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition.
    Everdrive is decent option too.
Avoid the regular EZ Flash Omega.

I've had the normal EZ Flash Omega for some years and it's worked perfectly for me. If you can wait just a couple of seconds after saving your game before you turn off your console you'll be fine.

EZ Flash Omega Definitive Edition has a mode that makes it pretend to be one game so you can use it for gamecube and DS integration. It depends if you think that feature is important or not.

I use the regular EZ Flash Omega and it works fine. Never had any saving issues that people have complained about.

The reason EZ Flash Omega has a lot of weird rumors around is because you can no longer buy directly from the original manufacturer and there are a LOT of knockoffs floating around.
(there is a site now that claims to be the official site, but the real official site https://www.ezflash.cn/ just lists them as another reseller)

The fact that you can buy a Everdrive GBA directly from Krikzz on his webstore to me makes it automatically the right choice.
Yes, the EZ Flash Omega is an excellent product - but the gamble you take when buying one and lack of manufacturer support just makes it not worth it to me. Plus obviously the power consumption stuff people have been mentioning.

Any evidence of this? Is there a way of distinguishing a real from a fake?

Just google "EZ Flash Omega fake" and you can see tons of people wondering if they got duped.
It seems like a ton of the carts sold over the last few years from Amazon, Ebay, and Ali Baba (no shit, right?) are older, shitty EZ Flash Reform cards repackaged as Omegas

            >Just google "EZ Flash Omega fake" and you can see tons of people wondering if they got duped.
They speculate but I can't see anything definitive. In fact on most of these threads on sites like Reddit or GBATemp, replies are confident that there aren't clones of these cards.
            >It seems like a ton of the carts sold over the last few years from Amazon, Ebay, and Ali Baba (no shit, right?) are older, shitty EZ Flash Reform cards repackaged as Omegas
That's not a clone card, that's just being sold the wrong product. A malicious attempt to dupe buyers maybe, but it's not a fake cart from a different manufacturer.

Isn't that kind of splitting hairs though? My point still stands, you're still running the risk of not getting what you paid for.
              >They speculate but I can't see anything definitive.
Well sure, all this stuff is what the lawyers call hearsay but circumstantial stuff like

Yeah, the build quality on my Omega isn't great. Definitive Edition seems sturdy though. It's cool that the normal Omega has a lite-sized case though.

(who I'd guess has a Reform card that was repackaged as an Omega) is enough to put me on the Everdrive side of the fence.

It's really not. If's immediately obvious to see if you got sent a Reform instead of an Omega by using it. If clones exist, then it's not obvious if you get sent a clone.

and I know it's an Omega because it runs the Omega kernel and loads 32MB ROMs to RAM. It ain't rocket science.

I had the EZ Flash 3-in-1 way back with a DS and the board was sagging on the gba cart, while the ds cart was coming apart after awhile. I just avoid cheap chinese shit now even if its new and improved

Everdrive is the better choice. I have both the Everdrive and the Omega DE and the Everdrive is more reliable and is more energy efficient with batteries.

$180 for the Everdrive vs $72 for the Omega. Minimal improvement in the former.

There is an improvement over the regular Omega. There's none over the DE. The DE is actually better as well as cheaper.

        >$180
Wat? How about shopping around or buying from an actual reseller before posting the cost meme gouge price you see on Amazon? Moron.
You can buy my Omega DE for $7,000, so that’s the new price. Why would you spend $7,000 for an inferior product?

I just bought the same mini that's in OP's picture for $100. What are you on about?

You already posted it. I already had the OG EverdriveGBA but I wanted to give it to someone so I bought myself a mini. Both work perfectly. I have an IPS mod and neither draw too much current.

What do you mean by "more reliable"? This is very vague. Does the Omega DE sometimes not work?

Turning off RTC if you're not using it makes a huge difference to EZ Flash battery life.

For GameCube integration you can boot the ROM through the bios. DS integration is a Definitive-exclusive feature, though.

By flicking a switch on the Omega Definitive Edition, it will boot directly to a particular game. You can use this to transfer Pokemon from gen 3 to gen 4.
