It has the best opening out of all the Dragon Ball games. I'll give you that much. Even the recycled music for the U.S version is decent.

Sure, when I was 10, before realizing the gameplay is terrible.
Still, great OP, great music, great artwork and as far as I know it's the only game with Adult Super Saiyan GT Goku.

There are some games that are good for licensed vidya standards but overall they are all kinda boring. Somehow only Naruto got decent video games during the early to mid 2000s

I'm partial to Budokai 3 for having a great presentation, and being the first North American DBZ game that let you choose between English and Japanese.

      this

I'm partial to Budokai 3 for having a great presentation, and being the first North American DBZ game that let you choose between English and Japanese.

but also this since Budokai 3 is now retro apparently. It has the best dbz adaption to date imo. the story mode does a great job of incorporating the movies into the plot and the way you play the game and run the story multiple times. very well done. Ultimates mechanic unmatched to date etc. very fun

But I would have to go with Super Sonic Warriors. It was fast, fun and had a huge roster for a gameboy game. Or was it SSW2 I forgot. Either way pick both up they're great fun.

Also Hyper Dimension if you want a more traditional fighter experience. This is my favorite on SNES. SB 1 had the best story mode and roster, SB 2 had the best music and visuals, SB 3 had the best gameplay of the trilogy, but then came HD with a whole new atmosphere and gameplay that are unmatched. Only drawback is the story, I can even let go of the short roster because of all the details in this game.

I had a soft spot for the Mega Drive game back in the day because it had Krillin. None of the SNES games had him and I like the little guy. Although my favorite was definitely Hyper Dimension, I found it far more playable than the Super Butoden series.

Fighters aside, both Gokuden are pretty awesome for diehard fans. It's a shame the 2nd one lacks a proper translation.
Imagine getting a Gokuden covering both Cell and Buu sagas.

Budokai 3 is the best but Dragon Ball Z The Legend on Saturn and PlayStation will always hold out a special spot in my heart because it was the first one I played as a kid and it felt the closest to recreating the anime in gameplay form until the Tenkaichi series was released on the PlayStation 2.
