No version of Kanto is enjoyable
It’s all soulless trash. Even Galar is better
Red and Green were literally passion projects, that's the opposite of soulless
if you honestly believe this you have some of the worst taste I’ve ever seen
I replayed LG recently and it made me realize that Kanto isn't good and it doesn't have many Pokémon I particularly like. Sure it's iconic and so are the Pokémon but it's still not that good imo.

Red or Blue. FRLG ruin the experience tbh and LGPE are the biggest mistakes to ever happen to Pokemon.
The only thing wrong with FRLG is the art style is a little uninspired like the rest of Gen. It's better in every other regard. And if you must play OG play, Yellow version.

FRLG's issue is just homogenizing the entire region into a samey forest instead of keeping some of the more varied terrains the original maps had
Gen 1 is garbage and FRLG is only good in the Sevii Islands.
LGPE has BASED Jessie and James and even has ARCHER. Go with that.
None of them are actually going to let you properly evolve the Pokémon that gained post-Gen 1 evolutions so it doesn’t matter that LGPE only has 153 Pokémon.
Also Kanto sucks ass in general.

Gen 1 was only good from 96-98 and then Gen 2 came along and was far better, but even that became miserably outdated quickly.

LGPE has OW encounters so it's automatically more playable than FRLG
Gen 1, train a themed team or a near monotype team, and then play Stadium.
RBY is the definitive way to play these games. Not being able to use Scizor, Espeon, Crobat, etc. before beating the game in FRLG kills my desire to start a new playthrough.
LGBT at least added a ton of new following and riding animations for each Pokémon, and overworld encounters is a QoL improvement in general.
Shin Pokemon Red and Blue or Roaming Red.
