Xbone or Series X controller, hotglue the cable if you need it to be fully wired.

Just buy a Bluetooth adapter. Also every wireless controller is optionally wired. And 8bitdo Pro 2 btw is the best.

I actually don't. I was born without them, but I only figured it out after my dad died. That was when I found out he was sucking on my chest every night while I slept to give me hickeys there. But not in a sexual way, it was his attempt to allow me to fit in.

I don't know. But I recognize the Gravis, and know you're a man of taste. I'll tell you what to avoid: Anything by the brand "PowerA" They make controllers that seem rather good looking at them. And they even feel good in your hand. But the build quality is in fact subpar, and they will begin drifting, or the R button will clam up and become unresponsive.
Speaking from personal experience. And I take relatively good care of my devices. No kids. Not throwing them around. Clean hands when I handle them. Just put them to the side when I'm done, so they're not bumping up against shit. But somehow I ended up with two PowerA controllers, and they both turned out to be shoddy only within a couple months. The wire didn't fail at least.

I currently have an Xbox branded Xbox One controller.(as opposed to PowerA branded) Grabbed it from the pawn shop because I felt like saving 10 bucks. So far... It's tolerable. The A button is about 10% less responsive than the other buttons. So I have to press it just a little harder than other buttons. That could present a problem in the future. But it's been that way since I got it about 3 months ago. I can't really say how it will go in the long run yet. But it'll probably be fine. No drifting yet.

It's technically wireless, but it has a port for a wire. So I just stuck the wire I got from my Power A controller in, and it works fine. I think you can buy one with a wire too.

I hear there is this other brand of controller that uses magnets to avoid drift. But I haven't really looked into it. Just tossing it out there as something you might want to inspect yourself.

Why are you tossing your controller around and getting it wet? That doesn't happen in normal use.

Sweaty fingers so the controller keeps slipping from my hand and falls to the ground.

Still is. They still make them with USB connectors. And they just work. Plug and play. Perfect for 2D and retro games.

Xbone pro controller feels like a quality piece of hardware in your hands but is prone to fricking up and becoming faulty as xbox products tend to do.

I just started playing a bunch of 2D platformers on the PS5 controller and I don't think the xbone would work as well in that department but for certain games I can see why those symmetrical joypads would not be ideal.
