Chapter 7, Very Hard. With practice everything else is doable but that is pure hell.
Won it by pure luck I think.
Just retire black shadow in the first 3 seconds or restart. At least it's not the chapter where you have to retire like 20 biker dudes.
You still have to deal with Blood Falcon, and Black Shadow is really hard to instantly KO on Very Hard.
t. spent hours resetting trying to get the kill
Challenge of the Bloody Chain I always thought was the most consistently easiest Chapter in all difficulties.
Even with that it's really tough. That one tight piece of track is always a danger since Blood and a couple others like Michael Chain have aggro AI. On Normal it might solve the issue but on VH unless you learned advanced techniques I think beating Black Shadow is almost a lost cause.
Holding both triggers makes you turn tighter.
Make sure you have a good stick or just a reliable means of turning with no awkward snapback or inacurracy because that can often mean the difference between sliding and not sliding, which is key.
>At least it's not the chapter where you have to retire like 20 biker dudes.
That one was actually pretty fun tbh.
Plus you get what many consider to be the best machine in the game completing it on Very Hard so I'd say it's worth the time.
Chapter 7 definately
Everything else can be beaten relatively well if you play your cards right but those two buttholes will make your life hell if you dont deal with them immediately.
Think Chapter 7 hard mode is the one where you have to hit the mines at EXACTLY the right angle to give you a speed boost instead of blowing you up.
Thats 8 and its honestly pretty fun.
It was awful. Never been more pissed at a game before or since, but eventually I was able to do it.
7 no question
On Very Hard my list would look something like this
>It's actually almost the same besides routing, the only VH chapter that really isn't hard
2
>Might take a few retries but it's still fine
4, 6
>Borderline
8, 9
>It's gonna take a good effort to make it through
1, 3, 5
>Bullshit
7
I've heard people think 8 is really easy but i've always had issues with it myself on VH. I think it's the lava & track design making me play like a pussy
Chapter 8 on normal already asks for you to play semi perfectly so VH is honestly just catching up to deathborn for a good 3 laps while playing mostly perfectly.
Chapter 3 on Very Hard was the second VH chapter I completed. It's a pretty straightforward race on a comfy map. It's probably on par with chapter 6 in my opinion.
I honestly think chapter 3 is the easiest of them all on VH.
I'm pretty comfortable with it as well. There's a bit of RNG that can make it a bit easier sometimes. Billy is the one racer that's on your tail usually by a pretty significant amount, but his AI is flimsy and he can kill himself without you doing shit. With him out it's like a 4 second leniency gained on a 1:30 track which is huge.
My experience was the total opposite. Chapter 3 was always second hardest on Very Hard for me. I kept getting my ass kicked while they all zoomed by me.
I never got farther than Chapter 3, i fricking suck at hoverracers.
Recently bought GX, any beginner tips before I start playing?
Taking your thumb off the accelerator just as a boost finishes will let you keep your speed for longer. It's not a bug either, the staff ghosts know about it.
Don't get baited by the letter stats. GX is great fun but it's a lying b***h. Don't fall for its tricks.
There is no greater lie than Pico's machine. ABC Stats my ass. Bottom 5 vehicle, 10 at best.
The stats displayed are the same as they were in X. I guess they wanted them to be consistent, even though all of the machines feel very different from how they were in that game. The AX racers also have dodgy stats, too.
Honestly. the letter grading system always felt too vague and simplistic for me. Alongside this, I feel it didnt really make sense for Grip to be presented in such way, as A ranked grip isnt necessarily desirable, IMO.
They're not really ranked in terms of desirability. A-ranked grip just means it slides less than B-ranked grip.
If you're turning left, hit L+R for a very short time and let go of R, doing this will make your turn twice as tight. Same goes for turning right, just let go of L.
When landing from a dive, level off before hitting the road.
If you're roughly 150km over your normal top speed, not holding down A makes you lose speed slower than holding it down. This can easily be seen by leveling off after Aero Dive's jump and letting go of A the second you land, and this can buy you entire seconds of time on some tracks.
If the deadzone seems funny, the options menu lets you calibrate the deadzone to your liking.
Don't mash boost, try to keep a rhythm and learn just how long your booster will last for, Hitting Boost only when it wears off. There's always a delay between when your boost wears off and when you can boost again, and if you aren't holding A during this time, you can preserve more speed and stay faster for longer.
The Blue Falcon is okay but there are better machines.. Try out the Deep Claw, Mighty Typhoon and Astro Robin for beginner-friendly machines that handle well, have decent boost, and have decent acceleration (Astro Robin has the best accel in the game)
Letter stats lie, Wild Goose has B rank boost but has the shortest, weakest boost in the game, whereas Astro Robin is a D yet gets you above 1400km with a single boost.
Crank those stats to full Max Speed, never switch off of it, and LEARN that shit. Don't move off of it unless you're on a pain in the ass track like Mission 9.
If you suck at a track in Grand Prix mode, learn how to KILL and use your murder on the other cup's tracks to compensate for the track you aren't good at.
Beating Story Mode Mission 4 on Very Hard gets you the best machine in the game, if you can handle its weight and turning.
Don't immediately jump into Story Mode, much of it can be too hard for a beginner. I would grind out Grand Prix mode first, as it's overall easier in my opinion.
7, no contest.

>every character has their own theme song
I love this shit
>they're better than the race track's themes
what's up with all of these cool ass backrounds? did the upload costume make all of these or were these actually in the character profiles
fisrt one
Everyone of them due to the rubberband AI.
not all of them have other racers
but yeah the rubberbanding is truly awful
>do very hard chapter 2
>somehow knock samurai goroh into the canyon
>mfw
i still have my original save file with the whole thing completed on very hard
never again have i attempted to take on that task
>at a friends house
>pop in F-Zero GX for old times sake
>"haha let's try Story Mode, let's see if we can even do this anymore"
>Even on normal get fricking wrecked
I don't think I physically have the capacity to do it anymore. I beat the entire game when I was young on Very Hard, but I wonder if I even have the coordination to ever do it again now
Its not that hard to problem is the game expects you to be a skilled player before starting the story mode it has a really high skill floor you need to climb onto before the game becomes fun.
I had a lot of trouble with chapter 5 but it was just because I was trying to maneuver with the triggers. Once I started just actually turning and using MT I beat it pretty quick.
7 > 5 > 1 > 9 > 8 > 3 > 4 > 6 > 2
I feel like 9 should be easier than 8 but for some reason I just can't keep up with the ghosts thanks to that one ramp jump.
9's pretty easy because it's a staff ghost if i remember right so there's no rubberbanding. There's also a really easy shortcut jump you can take that the ghost doesn't know about.
You can cheese that chapter by configuring your machine settings to match the ghosts and just take tighter turns.
1 or 5 on Very Hard. 7 is infamous for good reason but I had an easoer time with it than 1 and 5 because 7 at least allowed for mistakes and you could take out Black Shadow and Blood Falcon to make it slightly easier for yourself while 1 and 5 demanded perfection.

meh, doesn't look too interesting-

holy shit that actually looks really fun
The webm's from a very early build; like, a 3-year old build.
Bring to me, all you've got,
Enchanted night for you to be,
Lost with me, hypnotized,
Illusions passing through your mind.
If you don't think you an handle what you see
Better be ready to run for cover,
If you might think this is fantasy land,
Look my way, I will cast a spell on you.
You're scared of the dark
Walk through the night
Give me your hand
And let me please you though the night
You're scared of the dark
Walk through the streets
Give me your hand
I will dominate your mind
Best song in the game
I forgot which one but the chapter where you need to escape the tunnel through small openings gave me a lot of fricking grief on very hard and is the only i remember standing out
this was especially annoying since if you press on the control stick wrong even if you are on time the final jump will have you hate the teeth of the gate and kill you
>finally get to the end after countless tries
>hit the ramp to exit the level and win
>instead hit the teeth of the door and lose
That is just fricking bullshit.
Dear Nintendo: YOUR wienerSUCKING PRODUCT HAS REDUCED ME TO A GIBBERING MAN-APE WHOSE ONLY RESORT TO DEALING WITH THE ALMIGHTY FRICKING GRIEF IT’S BESTOWED UPON ME IS TO SCREAM AND HURT MYSELF.
Seriously, I am jumping up and down and throwing my shit in handfuls at the fricking television in some impotent primal effort to get the thing to work. I have been sitting here trying to enjoy your product – YOUR PRODUCT, YOUR GAME, YOUR CONTRACT BETWEEN DEVELOPER AND CONSUMER THAT THE CONSUMER WILL ENJOY YOUR PRODUCT – but instead the damn thing’s been crawling out of the console and taking warm shits in my gaping mouth. Swear to god, you should have just added a little door to the console through which a hand pops out and flips me off, because I am insulted that your QA or testers or whatever brainless shitstove three genes short of a monkey gayNUT signs your games through thought that a person with more than a single fricking digit IQ could enjoy Story Mode Chapter 7. INSULTED.
WORK WITH ME HERE: The goal’s simple enough! Come in first! Hey, that’s fine, it’s just like playing the grand fricking prix; not a problem! Only deal is your cross-eyed team of tongue-slapping wunderkind decided to give the game every single fricking advantage possible TO THE GAME rather than me.
How in the frick does Black Shadow – whose car is the heaviest and lamest piece of shit next to the Crazy Bear – suddenly become SO FRICKING GOOD that he can stay in first without using a drop of boost? Huh!? Why!? You never see this shithead anywhere near the top fricking 20 in a normal race. BUT HO HO HO THIS TIME HE’S MEGA-wiener, THE FASTEST homosexual IN THE WORLD. 1.21 GIGAWATTS MARTY, LET’S GO BACK TO THE FRICKING FUTURE.
But it’s not just Black Shadow with the magical powers, it’s the entire fricking lineup of racers! THEY’RE ALL FASTER THAN YOU. AND DON’T REQUIRE ANY BOOST.
But but but I of course, am still driving some piece of shit hamster-powered jalopy who guzzles it’s entire energy bar in no less than four fricking boosts! Add to this the entire course just got shitted on by some moronic space tiki volacano god and you’ve got a course full of hazards that’ll drain at least 1/4 of your energy bar JUST BECAUSE IT CAN. WHOOPIE.
HURRR, you say. THAT’S JUST THE CHALLENGE. IT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY. Well frick that noise, you lopsided frankenfaced frickfurter.
Tell me, please, why does the GAME have to win? Huh? What happens when the game wins and I lose? Is there some huge fricking kegger waiting for it when it gets done? Is there money involved? Or perhaps the motives are more sinister. Maybe the game’s family is being held hostage by another game and that game has it’s wiener in F-Zero’s wife’s mouth and he’s holding a cell phone up to her and F-Zero can hear her pained moans and cries for help and the butthole game then says, “You beat that wiener-sucking human, or I’ll blow her brains out.” I COULD UNDERSTAND THAT. I CAN BE SYMPATHETIC.
It’s not any fun if I can’t win, you homosexuals. I want to move on. I want to unlock whatever piece of shit clown car you have hidden away from me so I can start racing and get pissed off with that too. When your game prevents me from fully enjoying the product I have bought you have failed in your fricking mission to deliver a game. You lose! You break the contract! You contract the gay and fricking DIE DIE DIE.
*hit the teeth of the gate
The casino level nearly made me break a controller so that's my vote.
Chapter 7 only because the AI cheats, but it's not too bad if you destroy Black Shadow at the starting line and just take out blood falcon later.
What is the trick to beating Chapter 8 on Very Hard?
Might be better to lean toward acceleration for those trickier turns and snake whenever it's possible. I don't know if that's even a good idea because I haven't even attempted that on Very Hard, let alone Hard.
Chapter 8 is Deathborn so take out the mines you think will get in your way when you have boost in the first lap (second lap too if you missed some). Learn how to quick turn for the last turn. The stage gives you a lot of healing pads so take advantage of that. Only pass Deathborn in an open area since he will attack you if you get close.
as a kid i only rember having big trouble at the first chapter and the bomb like i had to pause the game for months
eveything else i breezed through
Bros the only chapters I haven’t done on very hard are 7, 8, and 9. I think I can get 7 with enough practice but I suck so much dick at 8. Everyone says it’s the easiest but I guess I’m just moronic. Any tips? What’s a good pickup graph configuration for that chapter?
Give it up for the Capitan
Three Cheers for the Falcon!
FAAAAALCOOOOON YOU KEEP UNLEEEEEASHING THAT FAAAAALCON PUNCH
