What's the rundown on the Ninja Gaiden collection? I've heard all sorts of things that the games in here aren't the original good versions, or that they're fine and people are being autistic, should I get this?
Found NG Black at VV for 2$. Flipped it on eBay for 35$, heard later that it's slightly -lost media because it's never been remastered or rereleased?
sigma 1 is good, sigma 2 is bad but get the ng black 2 mod to fix it, ng3 is kinda shit and there's no good version, but its still worth playing
Sigma 2 is actually excellent, besides the lack of blood. Best gameplay in the series.
3's boss fights are almost all completely infuriating. That game's healing mechanics are garbage.
i actually think sigma 2 is better than vanilla 2, but you're not allowed to have this opinion Ganker
Sigma 2 made a lot of dumb changes, but what people often fail to mention is that vanilla also had a ton of its own problems that weren't present in sigma. They're both very flawed games.
Have you tried the NGS2 Black mod?
Honestly, there aren't other series as great as NG.
The sigma games are fine. They are both better and worse in ways. It’s not like you can play ninja gaiden black on switch, so the collection kind of fills that hole, but there are other great character action games for switch if you’re worried about sigma not being the “true” experience
>on switch
I didn't mention switch anywhere lad lmao
It’s just an example. If you’re playing on Xbox, you would obviously just get black instead of the collection. I’m just giving an example of why the collection might be worth having
I never played a Ninja Gaiden game before so I bought that collection when it hit Steam.
Haven't played Sigma 2 or 3 yet: played 1 and I found it very, very good. I think I liked it more than the DMC games.
>I think I liked it more than the DMC games.
It’s definitely one of the best. Probably the hardest series of all the notable character action games
Without a doubt, these games are way more fun the Devil May Cry games, or anything done by Platinum and the like. I think the only series I like better than Ninja Gaiden is God of War (the new ones are good, but I mean the old trilogy)
Sigma 1 is fine since it's a side grade to Black which is already an amazing game. Razor's Edge gets a bad rap because its campaign is still NG3, but its gameplay is very good. The game is also obscenely difficult. Sigma 2 is the black sheep of the Collection because Sigma 2 is a complete downgrade from vanilla NG2.
>character action
go to fucking hell
In an era where Amerislurps carry on about "Metroidvanias" and "Soulslikes" when their actual respective genres existed well before any of those games, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being accurate as opposed to recycling lame millenizoom Americanisms, such as..
> stylish action
LMAO
You're a fag. Stfu.
Stylish Action is literally what DMC calls itself you actual retard
Back in my day we called them hack n slashes. Anyways, the whole point of names is so people know what you’re referring to. When you say character action, there’s no question what genre of game you’re talking about. Yeah it sounds dumb, but it works, and it definitely sounds better than stylish action. I like the sound of hack n slash personally, but if I were to say that, somebody might think I’m talking about dynasty warriors or something
Character action is a retarded youtuber term.
Stylish action is literally what DMC calls itself, it being the progenitor of the genre.
It's literally called stylish action
Not character action, not fucking """""""spectacle fighter"""""
So when are we getting this reboot?
The collection selling well was supposed to get us a fourth game. But that appears to have been a lie.
If we do get it isn't gonna be for a few years.
They have to release Wo Long AND Rise of Ronin first (along with any sequels).
Wo Long is garbage and an extremely cheap Nioh 2 asset flip with horribly Sekiro ripoff mechanics. It was clearly a small D team effort at best. Thing is, I don't know how well the collection actually sold or how well it needed to, but they haven't said a word about it since so I'm guessing there are no plans for a new game in the series. It was always Itagaki's thing anyway.
Holy shit a time traveler
No, I've just already played Wo Long last year. It was ass. Felt even lower budget than Stranger of Paradise too, only nowhere near as fun.
>already played a game last year that isn't even out
JOHN TITOR
Kek. You do realize they've done some beta tests for it though, yes?
>beta test
So you've played a beta
Once the game is fully released get back to me
It's shit. I assure you. It won't be changing for release in any way that changes its fundamental gameplay and design into anything good.
They literally made an announcement last month that they will be continuing the Ninja Gaiden and DOA franchises.
It always is.
But did it sell well? I didn't buy it
Ayane is so fun in Sigma 2 mission mode, but she isn't very strong, Rachel on the other hand hits so fucking hard and has a 100% uptime i frame dodge that can be linked into itself making you invisible lol
*invincible
The Collection is the best way right now to get into the series. They have the overall best versions of every game, with the only one ultimately being in dispute is 2 vs Sigma 2, but both of those games have their own strengths and weaknesses in different areas so it just means you can consider playing 2 afterwards, and S2 still has a lot of bonus content alongside its strengths. People are very, very autistic about this whole thing and are largely in the business of outright lying and flooding places with vitriol and disingenuous comments, but at the end of the day playing the series in any way is the way you should go, the Master Collection is just the quickest way to get most of the series and is overall well put together.
cut it out with this fucking rundown shit you trendhopping fag
>people are being autistic
First sigma looks like shit compare to black for no good reason other than new directors' hard on for yellow oversaturated visuals, and that makes it worse than black.
When it came out I got the impression that it was real low effort. For example I heard that the online missions were left as is, but there's no online component, so now they're just unbeatable.
That's entirely false. For S2 they changed the Tag missions so that your AI partner dying doesn't fail it, eased the enemy stats a small amount and you can swap control between both characters.
Alright, so they did do something. I might look more into it.
The sensible thing would've been to keep the online. I was looking forward to play co-op.
