What's the skill to RNG bullshit like in this game?
In the Binding of Isaac, you can pretty much win any run with enough skill. This seems a lot more swingy.

>you can pretty much win any run with enough skill
no you can't lol
Yes you can. The game gives you tons of things such as secret rooms, sac rooms, powerful cards like the reverse tarots. Tons and tons of stuff to minmax a run.
>the game gives you a lot of rng
rng is not skill
Minmaxing a game like Isaac is skill. If not, games like Hearthstone and Slay the Spire have 0 skill.
>poker takes no skill
you have to take your chances, risk vs reward
>secret rooms
with mostly red chests that can pay out with bombs
>secret rooms
likewise, chance to get angel item/teleport or nothing
>reverse tarots
rarely show up and when they do it's the mostly situational timed cards
RNG is a big part of this game, no need to lie about it, it's still a great game
>likewise, chance to get angel item/teleport or nothing
Guaranteed 30 coins or 7 soul hearts, both of which are strong.
>In the Binding of Isaac, you can pretty much win any run with enough skill.
lol
Same as in any game? You pick correct plays among multiple available to you at any given moment.
if someone can consistently win the game more than you over a large enough sample size, skill is involved
would doubt any Ganker shitposters could top an 80% winrate on any character
>would doubt any Ganker shitposters could top an 80% winrate on any character
as long as I am going basic paths with a non-gimmicky character, I think I could easily get a 80% winrate
Once you understand the game you should win more runs than you lose, at least on the base difficulty.
skilled players are able to mitigate rng and guarantee success. Most of the skill involved is the learned curve. discovering synergies and learning enemy patterns. resource management. being optimal in your play.
Its a card game so you can never remove the rng element but if youre good youll be able to win most of the time up until high ascension
in slay the spire you need a minimum amount of experience/knowledge to beat the third boss, but luck to beat the heart
i 1st tried the 3rd boss
Isn't SInvicta on like his billionth win in a row in Binding of Isaac? you can basically win every run with skill
>but what about that one time he quit or something
alright his 700th run in a row without losing
Sinvicta was caught cheating his streak.

If they don't play on twitch or something, it's meaningless. He just doesn't upload when he loses.
alright there are still like a dozen other players with streaks well above 500
jesus christ who gives a frick you massive homosexuals.

Alright, bros. How do I stop dying at the third boss? He dies every single time, but it won't let me progress for whatever reason. I swear I am missing something so obvious.
Also, does the game ever get any harder outside of potential future boss battles or is it always just comfy mindless stacking bonuses against enemies who rarely ever stand a chance?
are you talking about how to get to the heart?
beat the final boss with every character but watcher, then you unlock keys that you get from chests, fire, and a special burning elite. get all 3 and you progress to act 4 after beating the act 3 boss.
The Heart thing, yeah. It always teases you when you win, but I never figured out how to go further than that presumably because I'm moronic.
>You still "die" after that boss.
That's sad to hear. I guess I'll just beat the Heart once and then find another rogue-lite card game or whatever the genre is called, since it doesn't seem like this one changes that much.
There's also ascension levels which add an extra challenge.
I noticed, also custom games. It just doesn't feel like the general builds change that much, too pigeonholed. Unless you use that unlocking cards from other classes thing, which still doesn't really solve the issue of the enemies being simple.
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. First time trying an infinite run I ended up putting it down 6 hours later when I realized I couldn't die anymore, good shit. I think I'm just done with it personally.
I don't care about my character dying in the storyline, I'm just sad that I've experienced most of the content already and that beating it doesn't unlock more.

It is not true though??? You get an ending after you kill the Heart. You don't die.
Also, play Downfall. It is REALLY good and is essentially a free expansion to the game with pretty much double the content (7 fricking characters and all new bosses)
3rd boss is USUALLY the end. You always "die" and restart a new run.
If you want to fight an optional 4th boss, you need to collect the 3 colored israeliteel things. You still "die" after that boss.
you just need to have the heart of the cards
