Glimmer's Galleon. Not because I think it's inherently bad, but if I had to pick something, I think a dark underwater level is a safe inoffensive choice.
That gimmicky one, you know which
Web Woods. It's not full of atmosphere, it's just long and slow.
The parrot race.

This was such a fucking cool theme, tileset, and tune, though. I love these levels.
All of the minecart levels. Also the jungle templeish ones with the big stone rings etc. Or was that dkc3? Those two are pretty big filters for me anyway regardless. They just feel like a complete chore to get through.
The water levels inside the ships are annoying if you're trying to find bonus barrels, since any wall can arbitrarily be fake.
I didn't have that problem back in the day.
My bros. They're my least favorite levels in the game by far, and yeah, the music track kinda blows IMO.
I was going to say Poison Pipeline, but that's DKC3. Parrot Chute Panic for DKC2.
Pretty much any sunken ship level, though it's more because I just don't care for the music than anything else.
Hot Head Hop and Web Woods
World 1 in general is rather meh. Game doesn't really get good til 2 onward.
I was a big fan of Donkey Kong Land on GB as a kid. I did 103% or whatever the final number is several times. But I could never get into the Country series, I tried a couple of times DKC1 but it didn't click. I wonder if I should give it a third chance.
Spoogy woods. Dkc3 had way better animal levels though

Toxic Tower. Favorite is Rickety Race.
