Stalin was right.
Oh you mean about video games? uhh that the death of arcades was the worst thing to happen and that no online space can compare to the social aspects of playing with a stranger physically standing next to you.
Besides his genocidal tendencies, the only other fact I've heard about Stalin vetted students from getting into careers that were in too low of a demand and got them to sign up for stuff that was actually needed. I don't even know if that's true, but it does sound kind of based.
I have to say, I just got into electronics repair a few months ago and it's the most fun I've had with a hobby in a while. Something about melting metal with another hot piece of metal just dossnt get old.
With a few rare exceptions, I can't imagine seriously giving a shit about 'lore' or 'storytelling' within the context of a videogame, books and films are the correct medium for that. Arcade/arcade-style games are the best.
>With a few rare exceptions, I can't imagine seriously giving a shit about 'lore' or 'storytelling' within the context of a videogame
I can appreciate interesting lore/plots, but it definitely doesn't make or break a game. plenty of my favorite games have barebones or cheesy stories and it doesn't bother me at all.
>You just can't beat Analogue
This is the same (unproven) argument people make about vinyl records. I love collecting old games and playing on original hardware just as much as anyone else. But I'm not convinced a janky N64 or SNES controller beats a modern controller. Plus I can plug in my DAC/AMP and hifi headphones so it sounds better and throw a CRT filter on it and play on my 65" OLED without the game looking like dogshit.
>vinyl records
A lot of hipster fags don't even know about many new mass produced vinyl have dogshit pressings. So an original first edition pressing of say Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon will sound better than a vinyl pressed in recent years that you find in shops now of the same album.
And I would argue a FLAC or high-quality stream (e.g. on Tidal), properly configured to play through a decent DAC/AMP and pair of headphones, beats any vinyl pressing 10 times out of 10.
Every musician that's worth their salt prefers analogue equipment over digital, just saying, retard.
And every director worth his salt thinks his movies need to be seen in theatres. But while Quentin Tarantino and Martion Scorsese grew up in that world, they fail to realize that it's 2023 and I have a 65" OLED, great headphones and no shitty audience members in my basement. Same logic with musicians.

Not really, it simply looks and sounds better in a theater
>No audience members
I agree with this but you are still wrong in every other thing you said.
I concede that a movie shot on 70mm played in IMAX and watched in ideal conditions beats a big OLED TV.
Sound is a different story though. Theatres often fuck up the balance and finer details with the sound design usually get drowned out in the general "loudness" being pumped through the theatre speakers. My $750 headphones present the audio exactly as it was meant to sound with perfect clarity and accuracy.
>Every musician that's worth their salt
Yeah but there are aspects of music, that have been a reality for the past 60 years, that challenge this. You can get an original 80's synth in mint condition but you can replicate that wound with any pc for zero cost. I know thats not your argument but your argument has holes (That being digital music has been a thing since before you were born). Vinyls in particular are not as pure as the meme would imply. Yeah a good quality virgin record will sound like sex but that shit wears faster than any other capture medium, and there's also a vibe to it that you can't replicate with spotify, but any sound engineer worth their salt will tell you you can capture infinitely more detail in a bluray than you ever could in a record, no matter how nice it feels to drop the needle on a record and hear that fuzziness
Fan remakes and remasters manage a solid effort at times.
It turns out that a budget of "whatever people can be convinced to do for free for an arbitrary span of time" is actually larger than the effective budget of most major studios.

It's going to fuck up so much shit in the future. Like now when we have info that's only on closed forum threads, but multiple times worse. I really don't know why people would put info on shit that can only be found in a closed system instead of just posting it online.
I don't give a shit about your story and lore, just let me play the fucking game. if your game isn't pick-up-and-play then its fucking garbage and I won't stand the bullshit.

I played this for the first time last month and I sincerely don't understand the problem people have with tank controls. I adapted to it within 10 minutes and from that point forward it was just pure unadulterated masterpiece. Fuck me I wish I'd played it years ago.
ARPG's have never progressed in quality after the original Diablo, it all became about having a loot piñata in every single game which was the wrong direction for the genre to take, because by overloading the player with nonsense, they completely forgot about the game itself and instead having a hoarding simulator.
You'll see this in all ARPG's today - racing to the end, hunting for the best items, 'creating builds', endlessly farming, sitting in trade lobbies, not even wanting to play video games anymore, and it's so sad.

Worst thing about all this is I'm still very young.
The true pill on this is that young people have always been cringy losers, it's just now with tiktok we can see the retardation on full display. And I'm 100% convinced the elites are deliberately choosing to promote the most effeminate loser zoomers for some reason.
>That's the fault of shitty parents who expect public school teachers to be surrogate parents to their kids.
That's also true.

TRUE boomer wisdom.
Mostly because whenever I hear my dad talk about dumb shit he and his friends did when he was young it's the exact same shit I and people my age would do. And there's also that old socrates quote where he's complaining about the greek youth. Most people take it as "see, old people will always complaing about young people", which is true. But I think you can also gather from it that young people are, and have always been, idiots. This is why I'm somewhat optimistic zoomers will turn out fine when we get a bit older and wiser.
>This is why I'm somewhat optimistic zoomers will turn out fine when we get a bit older and wiser.
I think this is true, but I do believe that the last dozen or so generations have regressed heavily due to industrial advancements. Still, zoomers have gotten a lot of flak and millennials were also ridiculed unfairly in our time. I also think boomers get too much hate for the state of the world. The "Greatest Generation" did the most damage.
>I think this is true, but I do believe that the last dozen or so generations have regressed heavily due to industrial advancements.
Yep probably. Maybe not the average person that much, but the people at the top especially seem to have regressed massively. >Still, zoomers have gotten a lot of flak and millennials were also ridiculed unfairly in our time. I also think boomers get too much hate for the state of the world. The "Greatest Generation" did the most damage.
A lot if this just down to societal processes, technology and whatever politicians and intelligensia thought at the time. The average boomer/greatest generation/milennial had zero control over this shit. But the irony of milennials shitting on zoomers for almost the exact same shit as boomers did with them is palpable. Anyway I'm looking forward to being able to shit on gen alpha an say how zoomers were way better back in the day.
Most of the people on Ganker endlessly complaining about discord simply missed their opportunity to form an online friend group years ago and are now alone and confused wondering why the old tf2 server they used to hang out on is abandoned. nah he's at least half right. "hard work" doesn't have the same rewards as when our grandfathers were in the work force. companies have zero loyalty now but expect your undying loyalty. if you prove to be a good worker you get loaded with more responsibilities with little to no extra compensation, wages do not keep up with cost of living or inflation. meanwhile ceo and executive pay has risen over 1000% and they can ruin companies and jump to another company with a golden parachute. if people cannot afford basic existence with a 40 hour work week there is no point to society. the social contract is broken.
