It's possible we could see improved screens and battery performance, maybe some tweaks to things like the trackpad, upgraded magnetic sticks, etc but don't expect any major changes to the CPU/GPU config for quite some time
In addition to not being necessary, a major benefit of the Deck is being able to undercut competitors who rely on hardware profits, so they have less incentive to make it more expensive.
question is, will other manufacturers try to make their own devices that run SteamOS
that is Valve's goal, right?
to have SteamOS be the Android for gaming hardware?
they tried with Steam Machines, but manufacturers messed up
now Valve demonstrated that not fricking yields great results. Will SteamOS agenda work now?
Not yet. The chinks are just pushing their own linux builds that dial home, instead. They'll only switch to SteamOS if people keep buying the Steam Deck even if their chink shit has technically higher specs.
>will other manufacturers try to make their own devices that run SteamOS >that is Valve's goal, right?
I doubt thats the goal.
I think they might want to make steam boxes again, to compete with consoles.
I'm not seeing it, you know what I'm talking about, so where is it
'ick on 'eck has already entered your eye

no oled no buy
>OLED
>O(rganic)LED
>literally rots away even when not using it
>burn in when using it
Why do you want that super expensive meme shit?
my ten year old vita still looks better than anything modern
The Vita screen is blotchy as frick
naw
yeah bro, it's totally fine
modern oled tech don't have burn-in issues the same way ssds suffer from degradation. also i don't care about you poorgays' circumstances
2 more years at the very least. Not getting a Deck until the Deckard comes out.

That's a device running SteamOS.
Their goal is to stop being dependant on Windows/Microsoft
