I'm playing the Remastered version and it's pretty fun
Remastered is literally unplayable without pro controller and the controls have aged aged extremely poorly
Well, to clarify I'm playing it on Ryujinx with my Xbone controller lol. It plays well, pretty much no lag and I've had 60 fps the whole time and I just got the spider ball
Playing it on my switch lite in dual stick mode, wish I'd had that option back in 2003 because it's the best way to play.

Playing the remaster I can't help but feel that this game is not art at all. The whole solo exploration thing is just... meh...
Samus games really need to grow up.
Running around alone on some unknown planet looking for upgrades just to explore some more and fighting bosses just ain't it. Who the heck is the target audience for that?
I hope for 4 they drop this whole lonely exploring of an alien planet thing and finally give us the mature game Samus deserves with an expansive open world, fully fleshed out and diverse characters and cutscenes that tug at the heart strings and really make you think.
That would be so dope.

I was able to humiliate the Omega Pirate by knocking like 8/10s of its health off in its first recovery phase
That's how it was in the original game, too. Hell, you can take out Omega Pirate during his first healing phase if you're quick enough. They also kept his armor's weakness to the Power Bomb.
When you're younger, you get flustered by the adds and you waste both time and damage potential during the heal phases.
When you just focus on burning him, you can literally kill him in a single healing phase if you're lucky, two if not.
It doesn't. A solid chunk of the game is padding.
When you're not backtracking you're fighting damage sponge enemies. When you're not fighting damage sponge enemies you're scanning shit.

It's hilarious how Ganker turned on Prime with a vicious hatred after the remaster was announced.
Nah, the overwhelming reaction, even from Ganker was positive.
Now the people who linger here and don't actually play video games are just contrianing the shit out of it because they don't understand how other people can enjoy things and it makes them very, very cross.
Aside from an extremely noisy minority, Prime is one of the few games all but universally considered to be "Good" and the remaster is now the definitive version.
