Hopefully soon, but the real question is will they be able to top this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpaFE6_nDJw&ab_channel=11bitstudios
When I finish all the alternate scenarios
THE
CITY
MUST
SURVIVE
>Indie game's can't be kin-
Heave lads
Ho lads
MORE STEAM
MORE COAL
I'm still bitter that no one thanked me for refusing to turn away refugees and keeping the sick warm during the coldest winter recorded history.
Everyone was just pissy that I built a prison instead of holding public executions.
Anon, you're supposed to take in as many people in as you can. Your people don't make children fast enough and you need more manpower and children are also too fragile to Keep putting in the mines
Yeah, I said I took in all that I could. Even gave the kiddos I found a special escort back to base.
But no one thanked me for that because I built too many scary watchtowers and had people work overtime to research houses that wouldn't turn into ice cube trays once the storm hit.
lol yeah the game had some weird themes going for it
>build a little prison and some gov't station
>having a great run, happiness is maxed and have lots of spare food
>keep getting events where some fuck sprays graffiti saying that there's a revolution brewing
>complete game
>"You won....but AT WHAT COST?!?
Go to hell you ungrateful cunts. I towed the line and didn't pick soup first option like everyone else does and you morons STILL find something to bitch about.
That's the life of the leader in situations like these.
You can do a million things right, but it's the one slip up that everyone notices.
It's like air. You just use it. You breathe it every second of your life, you don't think about it, you literally live by it. You don't appreciate it and don't consider it.
HOWEVER, the instant it's not there, doing its job, that's ALL you can think about. You can ONLY think about its absence, in the same way that as soon as you fuck something up or do something the people don't like, they'll wake up and demand that the air return.

>People still bitchmade though
Did you pass the informants law or the prisoner beating law? Pretty sure those constitute crossing "the line" to the game
When the sequel features 0 morons I want you to go to the roof of the tallest building in your area, strip naked, scream "IM A DUMB moron gay" and then do a backflip off the building
Yeah, I enjoyed the game, but the "AT WHAT COST??" kind of soured the ending for me. I get what they were going for, weighing morality against survival, but there was this whole scene near the end where I let a father leave his post and take supplies to give him the best chance he could to save his lost daughter out in the storm, and against all odds they made it back alive. That moment stuck out to me, because I took a chance on someone not expecting him to come back, but it paid off as a genuine moment of hope and humanity in a bleak and broken world.
But moments like that are just kind of ignored for a generalized, "You've Crossed The Line! WAS IT WORTH IT?!" Ending. And it's just like, yeah, we're still alive and have indoor heating while a giant robot mines our coal. It was worth it.
Any cost is never too high to ensure the survival of your people.
I took the ending as interpretable. Meaning that you can either have everyone die(very sad) or make people live a certain way and have everyone live (very good) or try to appease everyone even though some might die along the way (still bad).
I chose that becoming the El Duce and forcing a totalitarian society would be best, since you have more control over the people to protect them, while keeping deaths minimal.
Fair enough. I guess I just wished that there was an epilogue of sorts that acknowledged both the "good" and the "bad" that you did, instead of just changing the tone to be entirely about one or the other.
I just went Faith and ensured I only researched the techs that let people worship God, not me.
I really liked the idea of having a small, pious town that was very comfy and not crowded.
I turned away all the refugees. Converted all the londoners. No child labor and always full meals.
Never went past the red lines in picrel since those felt like hubris.
Yea pretty sure if you did pass the red line then you would have gotten the "crossed the line" ending
The problem is that "crossing LE LINE" means to start executing your own people lol
I never did it when I played. I always just dealt with the scrubs. It's harder, but it feels better tbh
Is this the only city builder to have a boss battle?
It's the movie game of city builders.
hopefully never
the first game was only 4 hours long and had no replay value
>no replay value
You have the Order and Faith path alongside crossing the line or not. Also theirs two expansions and a couple of scenarios alongside multiple maps.
wow
2 almost identical tech trees with the same results
woop dee fukken doo
>2 almost identical tech trees with the same results
Well no the Faith path specializing in giving hope buffs while Order is mainly about increasing productivity
No not really
>No not really
its 100% true. its not really a city builder. its barely a game. you just do things in the right order. and the "moral choices" always have a correct choice.
the only thing frostpunk really has is its presentation. the visuals/sound/music.
From a gameplay stand point, the "moral choices" are literally just resource choices. Some will effect resource generation/colonist sanity.
>should we take in these people? can we even afford to feed them?! what a dilemma!
>lol yes because more workers means more prodution lmao
last autumn is the most interesting expansion
also FUCK engineers
>You have the Order and Faith path alongside crossing the line or not.
I beat the game on my very first attempt, not very well and only just crawled across the finish line, but I beat it.
And then knowing how it worked and how the systems worked, I beat it again faster, easier, without crossing the line and with hardly any deaths.
Frostpunk does a great job of *seeming* unforgiving, harsh, cruel and all that, but in reality it's really quite easy. If you do cross the line you basically can't lose. On my first playthrough, where I didn't understand the mechanics right, I went into the final storm without the ability to heat my homes above the minimum- every single one of my citizens sat through the Void Storm for a fucking week at minimum heating. And I still had 100 odd people left at the end when they told me I won it.
Yeah once you develop a strong understanding of the game, its mechanics and the intricacies of how your freezing retards function, difficulty largely vanishes. I ended up always having to make every run a no-death run to get some real challenge.
Imagine how kino it would be if you did a run without losing a single colonist and at the end it said.
>We all survived
>And the people are oblivious
>he doesn't play endless mode in the winter for maximum immersion
ngmi
1.) Frostpunk2.com doesn't say a release date
2.) Wikipedia doesn't have a release date
3.) Steam says "coming soon"
I would guess June
I'm hopeful for FP2.
I know it's going to get pozzed though.
I wish they would just work on some other game until this woke sickness gets cleared up.
They won't though.
And there will all of a sudden be Black folks everywhere.
Men will be sad that their husbands died and there will be sad stories about the boy who can't find his dolls.
At least I still have the first one.
What the fuck are you talking about
You know exactly what I'm talking about.
Or you don't and you've got your retardation on full display.
Either way, never fucking respond to me again.
You're a fucking retard I don't think the first game even had a single black person in it you deranged schizo, unironically go outside you nutjob.
>the first game
We aren't talking about hte first game.
Holy shit, what the fuck is wrong with you?
What the fuck?
Is this truly the best nuGanker has to offer? Some mushbrained troglodite that doesn't even recognize the trend of devs shitting the bed with sequels?
What the fuck - I knew we were in cclown world, but I didn't think I was surrounded by the clowns.
Holy shit you absolute retard I am saying their is literally nothing that fucking suggests the next game will be pozzed at all, WHERE ARE THEY GONNA GET moronS FROM WHEN THEY ARE SEEMINGLY ALL POPSICLES NOW?
>their is literally nothing that fucking suggests the next game will be pozzed at all
Are you fucking braindead???? Go look at their fucking twittter. Look at their success. It all points towards fucking things up. You deranged fucks truly live in some fucking bizzare alternate reality where devs will just 'make a good sequel that's more of the original'.
>WHERE ARE THEY GONNA GET moronS FROM WHEN THEY ARE SEEMINGLY ALL POPSICLES NOW?
They will obviously hamfist them in just like every other developer has been doing. What the fuck - how fucking blind and retarded are you? Are you just in a perpetual state of denial or something?
Fuckin hell man, give your fuckin head a shake.
>T-THEIR SUCCESSFUL SO THEIR GONNA START CRAMMING moronS AND FAGS INTO THEIR GAMES
Take your meds you psychotic retard
>>T-THEIR SUCCESSFUL SO THEIR GONNA START CRAMMING moronS AND FAGS INTO THEIR GAMES
Yes.
Keep being a blind, in denial retard.
Can't fucking gaslight me, bitch.
lol no
Poles don't feel obliged to fill their games with blacks
Frostpunk isn't a AAA franchise, so raging retards don't care to get pissy about lack of diversity there.
So what's the story? Another sun failure?
Just a continuation of the first.
They still snowed under, but looking for oil now that coal isn't cutting the mustard.
People still bitchmade though, and whining about every little thing.
I hope it's just another singleplayer game.
There's a lot of retards caling for fighting and wars and shit, basically wanting it to be an RTS.
why did they built generators above ground and not pic related, are there any downsides?
Did you play the Last Autumn (I think it was called)? There just wasn't really time to dig out and reinforce an underground thingy. Maybe that was the plan, but the winter kinda just happened.
Plus you'd have to come up with some kind of system of ensuring the generators vents remained clear.
That said, I also wondered why there wasn't an attempt to build some kind of cover (even just as a story point mentioned after you bea tthe game or something) over the majority of the valley your city is built in.
I hope they address that in the sequel.
>Eating supper, in my post apocalypse!!?!?!?
>AIEEEEEEEEEE FASCISM
>I-Is that.. EXTRA WATER IN MY SOUP?!?!?
>SAVE ME PROTECTOR OF TRUTH!!!!!
they're still having a vaction in norway
Frostpunk 2 will have open tests on April 1st and 2nd in Warsaw
So the game is basically GULAG overseer but they pussied out.
Nah, the best scenario literally lets you turn your worksite into a prison labor camp that imports convicts cheaply who can be worked to death
Never, devs got executed for making soup
