but yeah definitely undercooked and not deserving of GOTY.
Frankly it deserves GOTY just for being an actual original game in a sea of remakes and sequels.

None of the 6 games they chose are even worth playing. They picked 2 Nintendo first-party games but didn't pick the best one they released this year. The others are bugfests, shit from the ground up, or incomplete games that hinge on updates and expansions for 5 years.
It's so weird to see a GOTY category in which no games are good or worth recommending to someone despite such a stellar group of games releasing in 2023. They really did manage to pick the shittiest, most-boring bunch.

Slay The Princess brought me more joy than Cyberpunk 2077 with all the updates and DLCs.

Starbound didn't fail because of a 1000 planets, it failed because of lack of gameplay consistency between updates, and an underwhelming final update.

Every time they talked about it, it also sounded like it has no direction and they are just winging it.
