I like Gen 5 Pokemon, not so much Gen 5.
My complaint isn't even that the games are bad, it's that hype season is dead because we pretty much get all of the information we're going to get before the game launches now, and it's all in English rather than runes. There's no buildup.
And that's for the better.

Personally, I think that it not existing sucks. Say what you will about any of the games, but the hype seasons of pre-Gen 6 really felt like a fun time to be on the internet. Hell, even though Gen 6 had a synchronized worldwide release, even that wasn't too bad!
It is the repeating of the same strategy where it keeps diminishing the fun.
BW leaks are the reason /vp/ even exists, so you sound more like the zoomer. There was so much hype surrounding the games since simultaneous releases weren't a thing yet and we had to decipher what it meant in Japanese. It filled up so much of Ganker that they needed to make a containment board, thus /vp/ was made.

No, /vp/ exists solely because of me being a shitposting moron with too many proxies making literally 20 pokegirl threads dedicated to a different pokegirl in one night, because some c**t made the next general with May instead of Dawn like we had agreed upon earlier in the thread, and there were so many people who just wanted to discuss Pokemon that almost every single thread stayed active for like five hours.
/vp/ was created on July 14th 2009, this shit happened before HGSS were even out in Japan (September 12th, 2009), let alone BW even being announced.
Do you have a source for that date? The most common story I've heard was Gen 5 hype, and as far as I can go back on the archives(2014,) that seems to be the case.
I can confirm it was around in 2013 at least, cause I discovered this place from someone mentioning XY leaks, notably Goomy. I wish I never came here.

Nothing any further than that though, unfortunately. No Ganker archives that far back either, for that matter.
