          >The current Mod Card system is not a sustainable one. Meaning, you cannot continually release mods and use them as a crutch for content. The Corrupted Mods were already scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of ideas. But to think you can keep the system interesting with a flawed foundation is foolish. (To better prove this point: Ask yourself what kinds of mods will exist 2 years from now.)
we live in a post-barrel-scraping era where DE just gave up and kept adding new separated sandboxes in which you have to grind out your mods all over again for the same non-choices

He has good insight hope things go well for him and warframe in general

The whole "Oh, yeah, uh, you're actually a little kid, and you're just a pilot for these awesome unique things" thing is still baffling
It wasn't just how fricking CLUNKY it was to constantly hop in and out of the pilot form
It was genuinely weird to have a cool system where we played these awesome frames and did cool stuff and then rip that away from players with the pilot crap
I still just don't get it
Let me be the cool frame
                That's all I ever needed

I don't absolutely hate the idea of being a kid, but how it was implemented was really unfun. Being forced to be used powers that i don't enjoy
Having a story thats rather lack luster especially when alot of Frames have much much more compelling stories
Being locked from your Frames and getting Excalibur Umbra at the end instead of the beginning.
I feel minor changes could have made it bearable,
                >Can swap out frames as the Operators special
                >OP Frame and powers is given in the beginning ala God of War and then you lose it in the prologue, Frame dies and you have to use broken weapons and parts and its all about repairing a nerfed frame

from the very start. It had a lot of potential but it just got wider, not deeper, and seemed to not only avoid balance but intentionally added unbalanced gear just to keep players on the neverending grind. the grind wouldn't even have been that bad but the core game just wasn't interesting enough to sustain it, no matter how many more tile sets or 1 trick pony frames they added

I enjoyed it most at the very start, when there was only one type of map and a few guns, because at least then it still felt like there was unrealized potential

Also it is stupidly easy now to be on the "end game" since the grind was toned down, railjack is stupidly good for a loot pinata, and the necramech + Archgun shenanigans made ope world and missions a cakewalk.

Having too much content mixed up with a casual experience. Doing the same shit over and over again in games is normal, but warframe having this casual fast-paced "press one button to kill everything" gameplay while doing the same farm seasons for some time unironically turns off your brain.
The lack of a proper endgame is a problem too, although wf HAS an endgame, but the thing is that you reach it way too soon. After the Sacrifice quest you already past the endgame so after that you just have to farm and farm and get new things and farm.

My theory is that DE secretly shift the Warframe endgame on purpose with the Captura update.
    >Why?
After you are able to kill / do anything in this game, you already reach a certain point of endgame with some mods, the only thing that will activate your brain back is how cool you look while doing everything. When people jokingly said that FashionFrame was the true endgame they weren't wrong at all.
The game turns off your brain on purpose so the only thing that will keep it active is the fashion of your frame.

I think DRG got the progression system right where Warframe leaned too hard into power creep. They're remarkably similar games, yet GSG understands that damage mods need to be competitive with other mods and that overpowered nuke weapons need something to reign them in or the game becomes boring after a while. On top of that everything in DRG is obtainable with certainty, other than weapon OCs and purely cosmetic items. You have incentive to grind in the endgame without locking weapons or characters behind RNG that forces you to play a mission you hate 10 times. Enemy scaling provides actual increased challenge and reward instead of just an incentive to overtune your guns and frames until they practically play the game by themselves.

          >causes frames to lose their uniqueness when you use the same core abilities
          Very true.
          >just overall power creep
Sometimes true but I feel for the most part the abilities that frames provide to helminth are reasonable and interesting. Shit like Xaku's Whisper just needs to be removed.

The core of the game used to basically be exclusively shooting, so that had to be good.
Back when it was new the game was very slow paced and it was hard to get more than like 200 energy a stage (usually less), so you had to be careful when you used your abilities and they were much weaker.

wisp is hardly a support. only her 1 is really a "support" ability and it's basically a passive. meanwhile harrow's entire kit is based around buffing himself and his teammates while replenishing health and energy. wisp is a damage dealer with a support ability, whereas harrow is a support frame with no damage dealing abilities.

                >wisp is hardly a support.
Normally this is where a replier might ask "are you moronic?" except there's no need to because you made it clear already that yes, you are. Wisp's motes are, in one ability, one of the best DPS buffs, one of the best survivability buffs, and one of the best forms of CC in the game. One of her damaging abilities is dogshit and the other is yet another in a long line of pointlessly overscaled "increase outgoing damage to 1-8 targets" mechanics. Wisp is absolutely a support frame. If Wisp is not a support frame then nothing is a support frame.

protip after speed running a pc account and leveling 1 mastery rank a day for 24 days.

clear the solar system, and keep building weapons constantly. when you get to a boss, farm every warframe and weapon part it drops and build them. complete every story quest as they become available. join a clan as early as you can and buy all their blueprints. grind spy missions til you get Ivara and a billion Relics. sell recent prime components for plat, or convert them into baro items to sell later. buy a cred booster and grind the index for about 10 million credit, it wouldnt hurt to to double it to cover all future frame and weapon construction.

you can become a high enough master rank doing this that the amount of standing earnable each day will allow you to max factions in about a week. its even easier now with how they setup animal conservation. you capture a few animals in the open of earth and venus and you max out your standing.
the other two are so far in that you wont have a problem with standing caps.

it's interesting how in both warframe and destiny the shooting/gunplay is considered "good" when in reality it's because both games do the aiming for you with insane bullet magnetism. The more you play the game, the more the same it feels.
the more, you don't feel like its going anywhere.
Sure, you have many warframes to play with.
    Many guns to use.
Many mods to swap in and out.

But what really is the goal?
    Big numbers?
    Cosmetics?
Continually getting that new gear that everyone will eventually get?

    The game lost it's path.
The quests did add new mechanics, new rewards, and new ways to play.
But, There isn't a reward that is good enough.
A reward for the players who really go through the thickest of it.

The story warframe now is stuck upon revisiting the past, and trying to make sense of why the tenno even still exist, or who really is pulling the strings.
They wrote themselves into a damn corner, and the game hardly feels rewarding like it once did.
Until there is mystery, until there is something that makes the game FEEL good playing it, and not just buying everything to skip the grind for that reward, it will keep falling.

Very disconnected and often discontinued features glued together.
I still checked the game out from time to time, when I could just come back and use the resources I already had, but then they started invent new resources for every new thing they added, which they then abandoned anyway for the next thing. And then stand in a bunch of garbage grind systems, that are worthless to get into, locked off from doing fun things or trying something by
    >Noo, your kitted out death machine isn't allowed to damage to this, you need to get the thing from the thing that we never touched again since we implemented, because it was shitty and tedious and no one liked it!
The point I kinda already saw the cracks was when they started to try and "balance" this power fantasy of a game by putting in enemies that just disable your Warframe's abilities and drain its energy. Or adding a Warframe with the shittiest auto-turret in existence, because it wasn't "active enough gameplay"... next to all the other Warframes that clear the map at the press of a button while standing in one spot (some of which were also made shittier for that reason), etc. etc. The very definition of fun police. They entirely lost focus on what it was, that made playing a walking, bio-mechanical war crime fun by trying to force players to play the way they envisioned rather then forming the game around how players approached it (which early Warframe did).

what do you mean? don't warframe enemies scale? isn't that why some frames and weapons eventually become outclassed?

          Anonymous

yes, just like in diablo. that's one of the problems with the game's balance. less and less of the game is about actual skill and picking the right weapon/frame for the situation, instead most of the "difficulty" comes from needing the right mods and the strongest frames/guns. it's power creep, and because there's no consistent level at which you fight enemies you end up just spending time and resources on some loadout that can do steel path and just use it for everything, which trivializes almost all the "content" in the game.
also weapons and warframes getting outclassed by scaling damage is moronic, there's a reason 90% of the weapons in the game are considered MR fodder.

Also Ballas was a sickfrick obsessed with a Female Human who gave Birth to the Warframes and Transference because he really was a sickfrick per Umbra's questline.

I think one of Warframe's biggest issues was the small pool of meta frames actually playable during endgame high-level missions. (Survivals, exterminations, etc.) I haven't played Warframe in years, and I think the last time I played the game was...idk, a little after Grendel's release? So, say around 2019?

And I remember that all the fricking cool frames I wanted to bring during high-level missions (Ivara, Ash, Oberon, Harrow, etc.) would get one-shot 24/7 no matter how strong I built them. Warframe pigeonholes you into playing Nidus, Rhino, Wukong, and other meta frames if you want to stay alive. It was a real fun-killer for me.

    >Realize that they changed how the style mods worked so that my character is locked in place doing the attacks, and I have to take the style mod off to attack and run at the same time

The game was always a mess, but for someone like me that enjoys the grind and building ridiculous weapons/frames, it was a blast. But there was a solid few months where every time I would get a frame or weapon to be how I liked it, they would nerf it into the ground. Hell, my friend told me about some of the mod changes they've done over the past year and realized that, if I went back now, half of my weapons would be trash.

It's a PvE focused game where you're supposed to easily cleave through hundreds of enemies at a time, constantly finding ways to slightly tweak builds to make them as optimal as possible. And yet, they feel the need to constantly "re-balance" everything. Which, honestly, is indicative of a major issue the devs have. They're always trying to reinvent the wheel without even considering if it's a good idea. Let's make a super buggy open world! Let's put ships into the game that are broken as hell! They're always chasing a spotlight and doing new things for the sake of it being new.

I just gave up at a certain point because of it. I couldn't stand coming back to the game every week and having to completely scrap my mods and start from scratch. It was infuriating.

they've since added shield gating which will allow you to play most frames at high levels without getting oneshot, but it pidgenholes you into a boring playstyle where you stack augur mods and brief respite to restore your shields as soon as they're depleted. this makes you effectively invulnerable, and also allows DE to completely ignore the absurd damage scaling enemies get at higher levels!

    >majority of weapons and mods useless
    >meta frames and builds reign supreme
    >mission design and reward system doesnt work with the grindy nature of the game
    >keeps nerfing efficient play styles
    >power creep
    >reaching endgame is a pain in the ass and endgame content is a joke
    >story missions that moves at a snail's pace but somehow feels like its written as it goes
    >adding new content and mechanics disconnected from the main game that gets completely abandoned for another unrelated content and mechanic
Most importantly they started focusing more on spectacle over content, somewhere around archwing and first open world. People dont give two flying fricks about some bombastic scenery or missions aside from their first few playthroughs when the whole point of the game is to turn your brain off and grind for hours, and they made that one fricking thing that matters one of the most unpleasant and unfun experiences I've ever played.
God I fricking hate DE and their game.

Too much grind is what made me quit. I had to grind some missions I hated to drop some shit I needed so I can grind some other mission I hated, so I can build the thing I want.
They kept adding more materials to farm but kept the same drop rates, which were low as frick.
