this, I want Ayla, but i dont want to ride this ill dinosaur thing. Woulda be fine if they made the legendaries optional quest completion objectives instead of mandatory travel slaves. Real trainers roughed it with a bike
only the orange one runs and it looks terrible
from what I've seen the purple one actually functions as a bike. it still looks like a fisher price balloon animal but it looks less awful in motion.
They're fricking motorbikes. This isn't Digimon where the monsters are data which can be shaped to look however you want, these are supposed to be living, breathing creatures who have adapted to their environment in semi-realistic ways.
You realize that porygon exists? You realize that clefki exists? You realize that there are already a frick tonne of Pokémon that couldn’t realistically live in the real world and are just sentient objects, you disingenuous fricking mongoloid.
You know I’m right. Pokémon was never about creating a realistic world full of realistic creatures. They’re goofy Japanese cartoons and the fact you think it’s deeper than that is hilarious, grow up and stop playing kids games.
>Pokémon was never about creating a realistic world full of realistic creatures.
It was before it became a toy advertisement. And that happened around the time they drew art before making graphics.

But from the beginning they were selling merchandise of the characters. It’s not like Nickelodeon where the money got so tempting they’d be stupid to not sell toys, gamefreak has been doing it since the start.

I know they sold cards before the games came out and at at the latest a year after the games came out they were selling plush toys and small figurines, after that point they went all out on selling anything with pikachu on it. I may be wrong but just from what I remember, early on the franchise was never about monsters who live in a somewhat realistic world, it was about collecting monsters and hunting for cool ones. What would they have gained from making Pokémon seem believable? Just get a dog if you want a real animal in a real environment, better yet, go collect beetles and fight them for the raw Pokémon experience.

>Porygon
is explicitly man-made >Klefki >Trubbish
well yes I would agree with you insofar as literal and figurative garbagemons have been dragging the series down for quite some time now
>Why are the legendaries in particular causing butthurt?
I don't like the idea of a legendary being handed out that easily. Where's the legend? It's just a bicycle for a 10-year-old.
If the legendary generally helps people travel across the nation then that would be a great reason to idolize it. It could be the national animal of the region.
>It could be the national animal of the region.
It could have been, but that's not how legendaries have ever been portrayed. It just seems like too menial a task for a monster of legends. I wouldn't even be mad if it was just some regular Pokemon you got gifted.
Because once everyone realized the legends were meant to look like motorcycles, the general consensus expectation was that the Scarlet legendary was going to be like a dirt bike while the Violet was going to be like a hover bike. As of the recent trailer, their bike forms were revealed and Scarlet’s looks fricking moronic because it just uses its arms and legs, completely defeating the purpose of being designed like a bike and having fricking tires in the first place
I just hate how different they look in bike form from how they look normally.
Koraidon actually does have a distinct and clearly visible wheel in its throat, so fair. It's a bike. I get it. A real shame it doesn't actually appear to use its wheels as much as Miraidon does though.
But that's also the thing. Miraidon does admittedly has a visibly bulbous throat, but unlike with Koraidon it really doesn't look anything like a wheel.
But then you summon them for their bike forms and Koraidon and MIraidon alike adopt the same damn form pretty much and Miraidon has these giant fricking wheels all of a sudden that doesn't look anything like its normal form and just mimics Koraidon's look even though they don't normally look alike. But here they clearly do.
At least Miraidon actually uses its rockets and wheels for propulsion instead of running around.
Finally someone else who thinks Miraidon looks weird when it suddenly gains blatant wheels.
As for Koraidon, it can't use the wheels because they only look like wheels. With the only practical travel application being buoyancy.
Why are the legendaries in particular causing butthurt?
There's plenty to dislike but I don't see the issue with the legendaries specifically.
They would be better without the hind wheels even if it means losing the obvious bike allegory. Koraidon's curled tail looks awkward and doesn't provide much when running. Miraidon has boosters that already do the work.
>As for Koraidon, it can't use the wheels because they only look like wheels. With the only practical travel application being buoyancy.
that's great and all but it looks like trash
Take it to the designers. It's ridiculous how they gave the pokemon with fake wheels the most blatant big wheels while Miraidon has to bulge its neck to even hint at the theme and then conjure up energy wheels in bike mode.
>I just hate how different they look in bike form from how they look normally.
It's upsetting how strange their bodies look just so they can accomodate wheels and a decent seat. Koraidon's hips look as wide as its shoulders in bike mode just so they can fit in that fake wheel.
No matter what legendary you pick, for each one, there will have been an era in the past where both represented the future and there will be an era in the future where both will represent the past.
>No one unironically plays mainline for online.
Plenty of people were in XY, because breeding was easy, and there were actual reasons to connect with other people(no transfers and the 3DS wasn't hacked). You could just put "6v6 OU" as your status and get random battle requests from people who saw you on their bottom screen. It was unironically the perfect Pokemon experience, and the closest to an MMO the series should ever get.
XY are genuinely a "you had to be there" kind of game.
XY had the worst routes / exploration, story pacing, number of new mons, villains, and color saturation out of all the games
It almost makes up for this by having the best online system with the PSS
But anyways I agree with the other anon. XY was when things started to go downhill because GameFreak clearly cannot keep up the pace for yearly releases of 3D games
Yeah. Most of the older gen pokemon before gen 6 were not designed with fluid motion in mind. Of the 10% that transitioned into 3D well, I'd say Phanphy/Donphan was one of them. But that's because Donphan in particular was always designed around being an elephant that can turn itself into a tire and roll around. Which was what made it so cool when it first appeared in the first Pokemon movie.
I don't even know why they bothered with that gimmick again either, when nobody fricking remembers that pokemon line. It was literally a pokemon that existed for the purpose of a gimmick. Even Fineon line is more remembered.
don't care, haven't played a pokemon game past gen 4, i just replay the old ones whenever i have the itch. keep me away from this modern /vp/ bullshit where every new game is a regression and the whole fanbase is comptards and pedos and furries

yeah there was so much to do like catching the zero new pokemon and exploring the 4 new routes in the copy/pasted region
They should have just gone full moron kino, just give us Pokemon battles on motorcycles like yugioh 5Ds instead of just throwing a bunch of moronic gimmicks with no cohesion or theme.
Black and White were so astronomically good, that they realized that it would be impossible for them to ever make a better game than BW, so therefore, they just gave up.
I don't understand wtf they were fricking thinking? Why the wheels? The creature looks fine without them and runs so why add those stupid things? It just baffles my mind but then again it's fricking JAPS they create the worst most awful and sometimes cringe fricking designed cloth, weapons, vehicles, ect. in all media
I literally didn't know what series this was until I read like ten posts in. So fricking funny how people used to defend new pokemon designs and say they weren't getting worse.

They have giant balls and throat tumors and we aren't gay or smokers.
Scarlet pickers on the fence because although it has the version exclusive waifu, the trade off is that it has the worse bike.
this, I want Ayla, but i dont want to ride this ill dinosaur thing. Woulda be fine if they made the legendaries optional quest completion objectives instead of mandatory travel slaves. Real trainers roughed it with a bike

They fricking run. The bike features are purely aesthetic and that is what pissed me off.
only the orange one runs and it looks terrible
from what I've seen the purple one actually functions as a bike. it still looks like a fisher price balloon animal but it looks less awful in motion.
Explain OPs picture then.
it stands when it isn't moving because little Pedrito is too short for his legs to touch the ground
If you don't choose purple lizard bike I'll just leave you in my dust
It's parked. The violet one rolling around while the scarlet one is just running is literally in the trailer.
?t=35
no, the Violet one actually is a bike pokemon.
>worse bike
Yeah no, the red one has wheels and doesn't even use them. Violet got the better bike by default.
>Scarlet has the better waifu
>Violet has the better...everything else
Truly a dilemma.

The Mimic class of monster, a staple of all RPGs since Dungeons & Dragons.
Wrong, it evolved to be in Richard Gere's magic show

card games on motorcycles
Agreed, the games looks and feel like shit . The legendary is the least bad part
It is a monster that happens to look like a bike when it is running about. This isn't se criptic metaphor, it literally is what is obviously is.
I just hate how different they look in bike form from how they look normally.

It's just an air sac and its tail curled up. Why would it spin? The other one is a literal machine.
Finally someone else who thinks Miraidon looks weird when it suddenly gains blatant wheels.
As for Koraidon, it can't use the wheels because they only look like wheels. With the only practical travel application being buoyancy.

Those are legendary Pokemon?
so when it takes a shit does the ass wheel just spin rapidly, scraping the shit out and flinging it everywhere
Looks worse than a fricking Vita game, wtf.
Switch hardware is probably weaker than the vita. Probably weaker than a gamecube. Maybe even weaker than a DS. Who knows?
>Who knows?
You can literally look up the specs on Wikipedia. What a moronic thing to say.
It literally can't run Xbox 360 era games like resident evil (they run blurry to frick and stutter constantly). The specs have to be a lie.
The switch is quite a bit stronger than the Vita, actually.
considering they keep making games and you keep seething i don't think it ever did.
No matter what legendary you pick, for each one, there will have been an era in the past where both represented the future and there will be an era in the future where both will represent the past.

It looks like one of those shitty chinese toy bikes you'd find at a dollar store.
at least he uses his wheels
Why can't they just ride bicycles like in the good pokemon games?
Now we just need two Pokemon who have a single wheel each, and we FFXIII now.
I honestly always liked this design, Giger would be proud

yeah I hate how there was actually a sizable amount of content between each gym
they should have made it with unova where there's literally only 1 route between each gym and I can beat the entire game in 6 hours
>sizable amount of content between each gym
There’s basically nothing going on from gyms 3 through 7
Sprites were unironically better for at least 90% of the pokemon
Yeah. Most of the older gen pokemon before gen 6 were not designed with fluid motion in mind. Of the 10% that transitioned into 3D well, I'd say Phanphy/Donphan was one of them. Grown men and women wouldn't dare talk about Pokémon in public
Well for one, Violet's default uniforms look a hell of a lot better than Scarlet's.

They started to prioritize adding new Pokemon instead of just making the games better. Really all they need is 20 or so new Pokemon per gen.
