    they're both white.

You'll never know what actually happened, like with Looker in ORAS. We know at least that Looker was involved with ultrawormholes and Ultracreatures, but since this one is a battle facility leader like the Hoenn one in gen 7 that also got lost and lost her memory then he most likely was in the looker team

Someone didn't pay attention during the games.

Looker and Anabel both get sucked from the GBA/DS timeline and just live out their lives in the Mega universe, as far as we know. Unless we get a new Mega game, that's the closure - they never truly remember where they're from and make do with what they have.

Ingo wasn't related to Looker and Anabel's story at all. Arceus needed someone experienced in Pokemon battling, because no one in Hisui was truly familiar enough with the idea of battling to stop Volo, so he yanked Ingo back in time to try and stop him. Same reason your character is taken back - Ingo, while skilled, clearly wasn't a match for Volo so Arceus yanks Dawn/Lucas back. Why Arceus doesn't start with them, however, is just stupid; if they were picked for their success at stopping the Creation Trio and defeating Cynthia, just start with them instead of taking a helpless bystander from his brother.

ORAS is very explicit about being able to rip a hole to another timeline, and that alt-timeline being the original RSE is about as good a Watsonian reason for all the remake differences as anything even if it ISN'T explicitly mentioned.

Zinnia only mentions the Ruby and Sapphire dimension compared to ORAS. The only possible conclusion is that: 1. moronic Gamefreak forgot the dialogues they put 1 year prior and 2. there's a dimension for the remakes that is different from that of the main series, since X and Y are still set in the Ruby/Sapphire dimension, since there's no Mega Rayquaza and they state megaevolution exists only in Kalos when in ORAS they throw around key stones like it's nothing and they don't even do that in Kalos in events that take place a decade after. At least they fixed this the easy way in gen 7 by simply demonstrating that there's an infinite amount of variable dimensions where anything can change, included not just remakes but alternate versions. Certainly not the moronation about the 3 timelines that is pure nonsense

I feel like xy being in the megaverse just makes sense though. The ultra weapon split the timeline by itself, there is no way it went off in the standard timeline.

        >Ingo got sent to Hisui by Arceus

I don't believe that was the case. I think it was implied that Volo opening up the rift caused Ingo to get sucked into it because when the player and Ingo encountered him in the Ancient Quarry, it seemed peculiar that Volo had a keen interest in what was on the other side of the rift, suspicious even. Later, Volo said he had opened up a rift to summon Arceus and found Giratina instead, but it may also be possible that it wasn't the same rift and that he was a repeat offender and might also be the reason for space-time distortions, opening rifts and destabilizing space-time which causes them to appear on occassion.

Game Freak and their poor ability to write coherent stories makes it difficult to discuss what actually happened, truth be told. I swear that it must be done on purpose, Pokemon games are always so vague.

          >ywn meet Ingo in the back rooms

          Anonymous

They aren't really vague when you take into consideration that there's always only one viable possiblity. And the first thing to look at is: patterns. This is the same shit as Looker in ORAS and he has an explanation in gen 7, the only possible one (possibly they put in Ingo with the perspective that they'll do something with him in gen 9). Until then if even, the only possible theory is that he was in Lookers team since he's a battle facility leader like Anabel, both Anabel and Looker lost their memory by messing with ultrawormholes.

Ingo couldn't be brought by Arceus and it's not a viable theory because he's said to have been there for a while and Volo certainly wouldn't wait for you to come to kill Arceus with Giratina. When Arceus takes you in Hisui, Volo just started messing around, he's still asking questions to Cogita, don't they mention Ingo being there for years? And also he wouldn't lose his memory, since supposedly (again, only viable possibility) the protagonist didn't lose his memory since he's only there to know how to battle and how to battle a team he already battled. The losing memory thing in the first place is a thing that happens when you're exposed too much time to "ultraenergy" aka the ultraboost, none of that is actually present with instant teleport Arceus.

So was Ingo sent through a wormhole? Haven't played PLA yet but I assume any character besides the MC who gets amnesia and transported to another timeline/dimension/universe is the victim of ultrawormhole shenanigans.

          Anonymous

I think it's also possible that Ingo is there by pure accident, not even related to Volo's shenanigans. The fact that he:
          > Is from a different canon/timeline
          > Lost his memory and remembers nothing clearly but his name
          > Retains some very basic recollection of his past life on a subconscious (mimicking the actions and announcements of a train conductor without realising or knowing why, as well as having a clearly better understanding of battling than most other people)

...are all qualities that he shares with both Anabel and Looker. Anabel still remembers the battle tower faintly and despite his amnesia Looker still ended up becoming a detective/Interpol officer again in the new timeline. I think the space-time rift could be a red herring and there's a chance Ingo was just unforunate enough to be a Faller, slipping through an Ultra Wormhole and ending up in Hisui by complete happenstance.

Struggling to get through each day as a functional autist who lost their best friend and twin brother

I'm convinced that ingo is "just" a faller, like looker and Anabel, as opposed to having been drawn to hisui by Arceus. It's too bad we never got DLC, I think having hoopa show up in hisui would have been a way to finish the story as well as to introduce new pokémon without contradicting the idea that you already caught them all in hisui.

He became the Champion of another region based on the Nordic countries (territories included) Where he became a dear friend to the gym leaders and trainers there.

Including a female faller who fell at the tender age of five to whom he became something of a father figure.

But also, Emmet's been champion for about 25 years, longer than anyone else has held onto the title.

beforehand, he was more or less dragged there by Roxie bc she was doing a show after the champion's match. to which he only agreed if she let him check for frayed wires and such.

Emmet decides to watch that champion's match, but the challenger was verrrrry easily defeated...like he couldn't land a single hit. Being unsatisfied with this battle, she spots Emmet in the crowd and challenges him right there.

Despite his grief, Emmet accepts, and the rest is history....also the smiles from the crowd.

So, Emmet uproots his life as a subway boss, and moves to Scandi to be their champion.

Sometime after becoming champion, reports of fallers start to steadily come in from all over. so he forms the Scandi Scouts to be on the constant lookout for them.

It's also my headcanon that Ingo disappeared during the Alola Crisis (Volo just had perfect timing)

Eventually, he comes across Heidrun. (pic related) Who fell at the tender age of five, giving her the unfortunate distinction of being the youngest faller to date. He took it upon himself to take her under his wing and taught her to train pokemon in the hopes she'd recover her memories as she travels.

One day, however...she tells him that her family may have found her ten years after falling
