With, KB/M with all the fixes to mouse aim and camera control that re4_tweaks has. I acknowledge that movement and aiming is much snappier and arcadey in the original game, but being able to freely move and reposition in any direction you want is what I liked about the remake. It feels like RE2R with less recoil, which is what I prefer

I recall the biggest complaint here a few months ago was "I bet they won't make it campy and it'll be super serious with no silly lines" but now that its out its TOO campy? Come on.
And don't give me they made everything else more serious so it doesn't fit as well, the first game wasn't all camp either, it had plenty of rotting bodies, beheaded and burning policemen too. It was just as off tone and silly there too, and funny for it.
The core problem is that RE4 did not need a remake. Crapcom remaking a game that did not need to be remade shows they are creatively bankrupt. They want to eat their RE4 cake again instead of making a new RE4-like game because making a new game from scratch is hard, and remaking a beloved old game with a few changes here and there is easy and guarantees profit via nostalgia.
Lots of effort seems to have gone into the game, and it plays really fun from the demo. I don't know how locked you are in your mindset of creativeness, money making, nostalgia, ect, but a fun game is a fun game, but I suppose if I enjoy it in your mind I'm just destroying the industry by buying it or something. We all collectively establish a standard through our actions. If you want to tell devs "hey this is fine, this is acceptable, here's my money, please go ahead and sell me more crap in the future too!" through your actions, then go right ahead.

The remakes tone is all over the place. OG Leon isn't haunted by his past. It's been 6 years, and he moved past it. It makes sense for him to have an occasional quip because he's feels in control most of the time. REmake Leon has an entire monolog about how he's still being weighted down from his past which is even more fucking hilarious since in this continuity, Operation Javier also happened, so he has already dealt with worse shit since Raccoon City. Him quipping after pouring out his heart in the intro makes him look like a try hard gay.
The past stuff did seem a little out of place, you have me there. Some people do use humor as a coping mechanism though so perhaps that's the explanation. I'll have to see how pronounced it is in the main game when its out.

There's a BIG difference between coping and just sounding arrogant. Once again, OG Leon, for the most part, keeps his quips to a minimum, which makes him enduring. Nu-Leon can't got a single minute without quip making him annoying. I swear, the fags that say Leon is a quip master never played RE4 and only watch highlights. There are long stretches of the game where Leon doesn't quip at all.
I've replayed RE4 more times than I can remember and have looked at a lot of footage for the remake, including the leaked footage that's been coming out. Both versions of Leon are about the same in terms of quip frequency. The only difference is that remake Leon talks in actual gameplay, and even then it's not anywhere close to excessive. He quips when it's appropriate and that's about it

-bow deals retarded damage killing things in 1 or 2 hits
-can fire faster if you cancel the animation

For all the things this game is doing right, it censored, possibly even downright removed, the thing people wanted most. It murders an aspect of her character, rendering it essentially non-canon.
