Also Ultimate Battle 22
Ultimate Tenkaichi as well
Almost every JRPG
Beat me to it.
Hey, most JRPG have good graphics OR aesthetic
nip aesthetic is awful
>Hey, most JRPG have good graphics OR aesthetic.
Exactly, just look at Undertale.
Undertale's OST is mediocre at best.
but they usually have terrible music with cringey faux latin lyrics
not true, JRPG graphics are either embarrassing moeblob shit or Elder God Tier
Sonic Frontiers and Sonic 06
Idk, what JRPG has shit graphics?
You will trigger the weebs on Ganker, but you are right.
what are some memorable western OST's? I literally can only remember japanese ones except for the elder scrolls
Offhand, and besides the obvious Tim Follin mentions:
>Shovel Knight and its extra campaigns
>Killer Instinct (series, but especially 2013)
>Crypt of the Necrodancer
>Super Meat Boy
>All five Donkey Kong Country games
>Streets of Rage 4
>Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Max Payne series
Red Dead Redemption (first one anyway)
Deus Ex Human Revolution
That's off the top of my head anyway
Smaller titles have fire OSTs all the time.
Ratchet and Clank games, amazingly enough, once you actually are able to sit down and listen to them.
Crash had some good music
true, also they are all overpriced as fuck when most of them looks like shit still stuck in PS2 or early PS3 era, yoshi p might not like it but this is why JRPG is getting bad rep
>this is the theme
>this is the gameplay
octopath has better combat than 99% of turn based rpgs and the job system has alot of depth.
>octopath has better combat than 99% of turn based rpgs
that's a low bar
Anon, there's clearly a gas leak in your room if you typed this and thought what you said made any sense.
pokemon has more depth than octopath combat
In theory it should be good but they fucked it up
-Battles drag on WAY too long
-Enemy weaknesses are a trial and error process
-If you have the wrong characters you cannot do any damage and you can't hot swap them out, you have to escape the battle, walk all the way back to town to the pub, then swap your characters out, walk all the way back out to the field, and try again.
This is mitigated a bit later on once you get swappable skills but it's still a massive flaw.
Every game by Yoko Taro
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent
Zero Divide (both games)
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Mega Man X6
This was the first thing that came to my mind
Though the music was the best thing about it - it wasn't even particularly impressive,
considering that it was the first full work of the composer, id say its pretty impressive. but no, i really like the music. same for the sequel, its incredibly good, but to each their own
Kingdom Hearts 2
Sonic Adventure 1-2
Sonic Adventure 1 + 2 do all 4 of those aspects very well, zoomer.
Boomer actually. And aside the music, both games (especially 2) aged like fucking milk
Yeah you're retarded.
imo Nier Automata had a great story and graphics, some people might not enjoy the gameplay, or might not like the story(i am a sucker for existential crisis coupled with tragic romance games), but at least you can give credit to the graphics and music(which were phenomenal).
i really loved the story and graphics though(i am a sucker for existential crisis coupled with tragic romance games). Also the game wouldn't have been what it is without the music
nier automata had
>SSS tier music
>S tier story
>S tier art DESIGN
>SS tier character dresign
>B tier gameplay
finally, someone who has great taste
I agree with this 100% and i'm tired of acting like this ain't true
I thought Nier Automata's music was pretty shit compared to earlier games. Not sure why people rate it so highly. Because it's their first game?
True, Shilltomata secondaries seething.
Replicant/Gestalt OST was better too.
Remaster OST isn't good and lost SOVL.
I've only played the remaster, but I've listened to the originals and can't understand they changed some of the tracks. The remastered tracks are significantly more subdued and seemed to dump a lot of the acoustic percussion like in Song of Ancients (Fate). Love the music, hauntingly addictive. I just finished my route E in replicant and so far I just don't think Automata is going to be as impactful. Right out the gate I already know the plot is lying to me about humanity so I dunno.
>got into the series through a literal secondary branch of Drakengard
>calls others secondaries
gestalt trannies are the worst
Music in Automata is just OK, it's overhyped for an unknown reason, but as the game it's slightly worse than Dark Souls.
nier tomato have shit combat specially 9s, story and graphics are good
Automata is just a rehash of the original. Also the gameplay isnt bad and neither the graphics but I'll concede in the story
>All japanese games
Maybe japan should just stick to music
Well imo don’t take risks with music so it’s always boring to me but this works well for vidya music.
japanese people just love derivative shit and cliches too much
Unfortunately we can't afford Japan not handling everything. Atleast Jap games will suck because of incompetence, western game suck practically on purpose.
Do you think people who play western games stay here? They are out there stacking money and fucking hoes.
This board is now weeb gamers only.
like every old yugioh game
devil may cry zwei
I hope your reasoning for saying DMC2 is wrong is the art because that game is real fucking bad outside of maybe playing as Trish on DMD which takes way too much playtime to unlock and actually do.
Metal Gear Rising
Risk of Rain 2
Unbelievably shit take I have the soundtrack on mute so I can enjoy the gameplay while jamming out to kyuss
Unbelievably good taste anon.
Pretty much every game Tim Follin worked on
Beat me to it.
>sounds like generic nes mus-
Hot damn that's a banger
bro what no fucking way this was made back then
Why would you think that
What did he mean by this?
>Pictionary? As a video game?
>Alright, let's see how bad this i-
been trying to remember the name of this game for ages
Dear fucking lord its nothing but gold. I kneel!
>Pretty much every game Tim Follin worked on
I wasn't prepared for that bass. How the fuck could the NES handle this?
NES could do some good shit if you used every sound channel
During gameplay some of those would be taken up by the sfx
>follin's work is still appreciated generations later
you guys are alright sometimes
>It's alright I gue-
Arguably the game looked pretty good for the time too but it looks like garbage now so FUCK YOU ANYWAY
Final Fantasy 14
Am I missing a joke or is there a reason why this wasn't posted yet?
The music was stolen
From whom, bro? Himself? The only tracks that aren't originals are the ones Toby Fox made in ither projects.
Now you've done it. Someone's gonna drop the copypasta.
some people unironically like the gameplay
Yeah, if we can call shit taste casualfags people. Undershit has dogshit gameplay that falls apart at the slightest bit of scrutiny
Because that game was good through and through.
(You)re just lookin for attention.
The characters and story in those games are amazing.
The gameplay for both has zero depth and the graphics speak for themselves. As for the story, I was charmed by the characters and the wittiness, but honestly guys let's not kid ourselves like it's anything more than a AO3 fan fic circa 2013. It's a quirky fun time, maybe even refreshing, but any more plaudits than that is some Brony-tier shit.
The graphics are fine. The gameplay is fun. The story and especially the more autistic lore is really cool
Walking memes and furry bait
One part mediocrity and one part autism
Those characters are liked exclusively because of porn and memes, they aren't "amazing".
>Am I missing a joke or is there a reason why this wasn't posted yet?
There is no joke. It's just a crappy game, every aspect of it.
I prefer the story over the music in Deltarune easily
The music isn't even that good, especially on its own.
Andrew? Andrew Hussie, is that you?
Andrew, I can't and won't make this any simpler for you.
You failed at life. You failed. When one thinks of what man is capable of, pushing himself to the limits physically, mentally and emotionally to achieve heights of success never before mentioned, your name will not be whispered in the same, reverent fashion that others have.
Nobody will remember Andrew Hussie. You aren't even a header or a footer in the career of someone else. You are nobody. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
In short, you are an enormous failure.
Andrew, being that you're probably over 40 years old and your brain has probably hard-wired itself to accept such failures by now and write off such criticism by being "flippant", really suggests that you've passed beyond the proverbial breaking-point. There's no turning back. This is your career, this is what defines you and this is what you'll defend to the end.
The abhorrent failures that are Homestuck, Hiveswap, Psycholonials, Andrew Hussie, they are your legacy.
Maybe I'm over-reaching, however. Who knows? People CAN change. Maybe you'll read this, Andrew, and think long and hard about what a wasteful life you've led. Maybe you'll think, "wow. It's incredible just how abysmal and pathetic I really AM!" Maybe you'll lift some weights in the morning. Maybe you'll take a self-help class.
Maybe in a couple of years, Andrew, you'll have learned from this failure. I doubt it, though.
I genuinely doubt it.
Now excuse me, I have to work on Deltarune. My accountant estimates over sixty million dollars in sales.
I agree with you dude. Been playing it with a friend since she loves it. It’s ok, kinda mid, but the music is pretty good.
Deltarune is an amalgam of Undertale
Did you know that?
Did you know that?
Did you know that?
But hey that's just a theory. A game theory. Thanks for watching your holiness please enjoy this free copy of Deltatale.
Every single UT/DR fan enjoy their games be like:
and there it is
>Gallops with repeating hooks over it is plagiarism
Wait until you hear metal.
I can't take Tumblr furry sprites seriously
the reason is only three tracks are good so it qualifies as barely an okay OST
The story and battle system are good.
Because even the music is shit
ALL OF THEM
No More Heroes 2
Lmao bro go listen to real music instead
LMAO bro WHAT'S REAL MUSIC TO YA bro HUH bro bro bro
Pretty much any gacha game
Dragon Poker was fun but it did not have the right to get such a banging soundtrack.
Minecraft had decent gameplay.
the only good thing about this shit game was the OST and no not the gay radio
>Minecraft had decent gameplay
What gameplay? Autistically building shit out of limited selection of cubes? Fighting brain dead npc? Or retarded survival mechanics with hunger nobody like or wanted?
Oh yeah, forgot about this. The title screen in 10/10 though.
SOUND THE ALARM
Sonic & The Secret Rings
Sonic Lost World
Future Tactics: The Uprising
Mega Man X7
More of a 6-7/10 than garbage but the OST is the best Platinum's ever done yeah.
I actually think most people are shitting too much on SF6's music but the gameplay looks great and for what it's worth World Tour already looks significantly better than V's dumpster fire Story Mode.
Sonic is cheating
NO HOPES AND NO DREAMS
NO CARES AND NO FEARS
NO HOPES AND NO DREAMS
'CAUSE I'M RUTHLESS
2D Sonic games are awful but they have great soundtracks. Same for GTA
Far too many to list
Any game that Tim Follin composed
Man is the king of that
I remember hearing a traditional analog-instrument Tim Follin song for the first time .
He's got some magic in him
Tim and his brother sadly fell out of the industry after CDs became the norm as their greatest talent (and primary interest) was working magic with soundchips to get the sound they wanted out of them no matter how limited they were. Tim absolutely is a talented composer in general though, so his music in innocuous games like Ford Racing and Future Tactics is actually some of his best:
He's actually returned to the industry in recent years, but as a developer making FMV mystery games. He composes his own music, but it's much more low-energy and atmospheric than his more well-known work because of the tone of the games he's working on.
I like Oblivion, but honestly not wrong.
yeah, all 5 tracks in the endlessly copy pasted wasteland of cyrodiil sure redeems the shitshow that it is.
oblivion had top-notch graphics for the time
It was technically impressive but the potato faces were kinda funny even back then.
Final Fantasy 15
Ff13 and Astro had great graphics.
DMC and MGR had great gameplay.
You failed the assignment.
>MGR had great gameplay
Ff13s music is terrible
Into the Breach
Artifact and Dota Underlords.
i hope the second game has 10/10 music too
I couldn't get past how goddamn lame the MC and first party member looked in their battle forms
I think this game is pretty cool. The dungeons are awful though. And the plot structure is really bad despite the story and characters being pretty good overall.
for a janky persona clone it does some pretty ambitious things like having a FeMC option and being able to join the antagonists
I wouldn’t really call it a Persona clone. Outside of some superficial aspects, they don’t have much in common. Even comparing it to Tadashi’s Personas is a stretch, and he was the writer.
FuRyu games have this initial impression of “Oh, wow, this looks a lot like X or Y game from [different company]” only for the game to be nothing like that. Which I think is ultimately better than them being rip offs.
Still on my list to play. I heard good things about this janky game.
>kind of trash graphics
Hollow Knight, easily
>tendies still seething at the best Platformer of all time
Tales of Zestiria, I was tempted to say FF15 but the graphics aren't THAT bad. Actually you know what I'd even go with FF15, the soundtrack is way too good for the game and it's depressing to see something that good wasted on such a shit game.
>ITT: "popular good games I don't like, but can admit they have good music"
Nice. Let me be the first one to give an actual answer then:
Tales of Legendia
Not everything is "shit", but overall pretty bad. I only finished it because it has soul.
street fighter VI
More like Street Fighter V. 6 has decent everything but music, while 5 has excellent music outside of one or two tracks.
Chun, Jamie, Ryu, Ken, Blanka, Marisa, Deejay, and all the stage music is great. For a few other characters the issue is that only the Round 3 part of their theme is good. It's not as good as I expected and there's a handful of boring tracks but I don't get how people are calling the OST trash as a whole.
From what we heard in the last trailer Gief's theme sounds pretty good too. Cammy will never top her very first theme so it doesn't really matter what they gave her.
nominating star ocean franchise
I will never understand how Star Ocean is STILL alive
i'm a huge star ocean fan and I have never played beyond 4.
Star Ocean 3's music is so strange given the context of some of these scenes. Like how this song plays after the twist and you're talking to the development team who created you.
such a good song. SO3 was such a top tier game until 4d. They set up the threat of the developers' ships so well in the beginning of the game by showing human on human conflict and intrigue, only to snuff it out with the devastators or whatever they were called
I didn't get that because, yeah the story itself already had a decent start and it was only getting better till the twist happened. Such an odd decision, but oh well.
it would have been a better story if they had just gone the traditional space opera route but it probably wouldn't still be remembered so frequently these days if it had. SO was always kinda on the coat tales of the tales franchise
Yeah, that's a good point.
Streets of Rage.
Every shitty sonic game (Aside from the 3DS one)
more like every Alicesoft barring SR
Any fanal fantasy.
Danganronpa, God Hand, Nier Automata, Undertale, Deltarune, Omori.
why does everyone think that the only good thing about Nier and Nier Automata is the music? i don't think everything else about it is bad, ok some things about the story might not make a whole lot of sense when you think about it so not everyone would like it but i think the graphics are great
the only thing i remember is how good the music was
everything else wasn't trash, but it wasn't great either
Nier 1's graphics are pretty bad. It starts loading unfiltered LOD textures like 10 feet in front of you, not to mention the sameface or animation. Everywhere in Automata other than the factory and amusement park looks the same and the grass is shit.
It's a ps3 fucking game.
So was Skyrim, and despite being an actual open world it at least had the decency to put the LOD 30 feet in front of you and use anisotropic filtering. It also had more than one face model and its trees had more than 16 tris.
I think it's more that people who like music from Nier and Automata are more in a rush to say the music is good. Just look at all the duplicate posts in this thread.
Nier will appear within 10 posts in a "good vidya OST" thread.
Most of them don't even realize that most of the best tracks weren't composed by the guy who's name is parroted everywhere (the same with Keiki Kobayashi's name attached to the Ace Combat franchise's musical success).
The Persona 5 vs Nier: Automata OST battle shitstorm threads were pretty funny.
It’s pretty boring to play
>the same shitty motif repeated over and over
Dude repetition is one of the key aspects of music, its what we find catchy and drawing
only if i specifically like it
you suck at video games
All sonic games
Like 99% of vns, if you even consider them games.
ffxiv, although souken is still quite overrated
FFXIV has great gameplay and story though. Who the fuck is Souken?
they probably never got past ARR
ARR is the second best part of FFXIV tho. If you got filtered there the game isn't for you.
Let it Die
man of culture
>Graphics are good
>Main quest story is butchered yet best sidequests in a Xenoblade game
Are you lost anon?
This is just plain wrong. The only truly subpar part was the story. The gameplay is fine except the game never explains shit to you. Graphics are unironically the best in the series, and the soundtrack is unironically the worst. That’s right, I like 3’s OST better.
Fuck no Sawano is a hack
Paper Mario barely has graphics, it’s all in the art style. The original on N64 still looks great today.
Persona 3 Portable
Any game made by Square Enix
Plenty of SE games have had pleasant graphics.
it only seems this way to most people because they have 0 music knowledge so the bar is really low. peopel generally understand about good character development or good level design, but they can't tell good from bad voice leading to save their lives.
The Caligula Effect 2
Bad take. There is a reason why people make fangames and draw stuff like your pic. Stories while simple, have cool and interesting characters and character motivations.
Nothing special or bad in most categories, crazy good OST.
>Everyone says Bastion is great!
>Lose interest after 3-4 hours.
>Everyone says Transistor is great!
>Lose interest after 3-4 hours.
>Everyone says Hades is great!
>Game holds my attention a whopping 8 hours, lose interest.
I guess I just don't get it. I find SuperGiant's games boring as shit.
You're probably stupid or underage or both
he sounds pretty based for a zoomer
His only complaint is that his attention span only allows him to tolerate a game for an afternoon and that's somehow the game's fault?
>8 hour handholding is somehow good
i'm sorry you're a pokemon fan anon
Any touhou game
Gens 6/7/9 sure. 1-5 have charming visuals if not good gameplay, 8's a dumpster fire all around to the point where even the music is middling.
That's funny since despite being a pokemon autist I don't give a single shit about the music
>the three star team Themes
music that good should not be stuck to a turd Like a Mainline Pokemon game.
the star grunt theme caught me completely off guard, that shit was way too fucking good for pokemon.
It will forever pain me that this music was wasted on one of the worst games ever made.
Literally my life. I always have good music playing in my head but everything else is shit.
red dead redemption
unreal tournament 1
here have a (you)
They focused more on the OST than the game.
i'm glad this was like the only spyro game i played as a teen. I remember it fondly, but i bet playing it today would make me most likely realize it's shit compared to the PS1 games.
they? bro copeland was the only one working on the music
a lot of modern sonic games
About 10 years ago an anon posted this on a hidden gem OST thread and i still come back to it every so often, never even knew this failed attempt at a trilogy even existed,
Never played the game, but listened the OST so many times it's obscene.
I think I attempted to reach completion just to enjoy sporadically some nice ambient musics.
This is quite a tricky question because when music is good I tend to embrace a game.
Warhammer 40,000: Dsark Tide
Eh... Skyrim and Oblivion... ALTHOUGH, the other aspects aren't garbage, it's just that the music of the games is so fucking good.
Today I will remind him that the composer for Skyrim and Oblivion got metoo'd and won't be composing the next Elder Scrolls game.
I know =(
The gameplay and graphics weren't half as bad as the story, but the thing I always remember about Borderlands 3 was the OST. They put so much effort into it, and it boggles the mind that the music can be so good but the story so horrendous.
was Sunset Overdrive mentioned? It's a game that goes far past cringe, but if you're into punk rock, it has a pretty neat OST in general.
Wasn't this supposed to be a pretty fun TPS? I pretty much always trust Insomniac on the gameplay end but never played this as I've never had an Xbox. I see it's on GamePass which I have a trial of though.
The story/writing was trash but I found the game fun to play. I wouldn't say the gameplay was shit.
I think you missed the point of the game if you found that cringe.
I heavily recommend the game since it's a big world where you can mess around with, but once you finish it, it's just a huge pile of nothing unless you're an Achievement snob since people stay for the Online gameplay. Unfortunately, it's next to dead, unless you find a forum (I.E Steam) where you can *maybe* find people that is willing to play with you on the console version just for that experience.
>DUUUUUUDE MY LIFE SUCKS SO MUCH, LIKE PAYING RENT DUUUUUUUDE
>WHOA PEOPLE TURNED INTO ZOMBIES BY DRINKING AN ENERGY DRINK? ZOINKS MORTY THAT'S SO RANDOM AND UNEXPECTED, AT LEAST MY LIFE HAS MEANING NOW
>proceed to interact with cliche NPCs who's behaviour go far beyond ironic shitposting
I keep instead thinking of Total Overdose every single time this fucking game gets mentioned ever since its announcement. God damn it.
ROR2 is great for the first 50 hours
What's wrong with it after 50 hours? I'm making a risk of rain type game right now and it seems pretty solid to me.
For me it's because once you become so powerful it all feels the same regardless of the character you pick and it's very easy to be OP. I still like going back every couple months to do a few runs though.
You mean the items you pick are all the same, like your good runs always look the same?
There's a decent amount of item variety but yeah you always end up hitting enemy to trigger AOE that triggers another AOE
Metal Gear Rising
having only played the demo back when it first came out and hearing that the full game wasn't actually merely a fun beat 'em up romp with ozzy and the lads, was pretty devastating.
it was an RTS of all things
The game's compositor, Richard Jacques, and its singer, TJ Davis, also worked on Metropolis Street Racer's soundtrack which has a very similar feel.
i used to believe the meme that sonic r is shit, until i actually played it more than 5 minutes. the game is great, it feels a bit awkward at first but once you get used to the controls it's a really great game
and come on the game looks good, nobody can't take that away from it
How come no one has brought up Undertale and Deltarune
The entire kiseki series.
Sounds generic as fuck.
you didn't even listen to it
I didn't need to listen to the whole thing to realize it. Still listening, and it's still generic as fuck.
>le overdone epic guitar
its like you purposely picked a song with the worst possible qualities
>le music expert
post a single good track
Almost anything else posted in this thread
have a nice day disingenuous retard
Jesus christ dude, no need to get so triggered over some mid symphonic metal song
>"""""retro""""" indie hipster trying to claim his beep boop shit is better than kiseki music
Wanna know how I know your weight starts with a 3?
Gr8 b8 m8
No. When Singa composed half the ost for the games the music turned to shit too.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for SNES might not look too bad, and its mechanics might be very simplistic, but fuck me, does that game have some amazing music.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers too have some amazing musics, it even has the OG composer for Castlevania working on it.
Alone in the Dark 2008
I fucking love the music but dear God the game is a pain in the ass
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Atelier Iris 3
>Atelier Iris 3
Fuck yes. Absolute disaster of a game, but holy shit, the soundtrack.
FFMQ's gameplay was way better than all the other Final Fantasy games of its time. It had actual tools and shit like bombs and grappling hook that you used in dungeons, instead of just being a walking simulator. And enemies are actually visible instead of random encounter garbage. But that music, holy fuck. I've still never found a game that comes close in 30 years besides Chrono Trigger & OG FF7 ofc.
dawn of war 3
ost is pure SOVL
What's wrong with the story and gameplay of FFXIV? Visually, it doesn't even look that bad for a PS3 MMO.
People keep posting this but the music is so generic in this game it fucking hurts.
they'd lose social credit by neglecting to mention it, please understand
World of Warcraft past WOTLK has had some great music but when Brower was let go it seriously fell apart. Arkenstone can't do the whole thing alone and the pajeet they have now is just meh.
The best was the Storm Peaks theme. https://youtu.be/xkbDIlvkr-A
awh yeah this bro plays that bargain bin shit
i get its a ps2 game but the perpetual sunset setting genuinely makes it look better than it has to
the entire ost is so stupid good for no reason
FF Tactics, Suikoden II, Halo:CE and Halo 2, Mario series writ large.
>boring gameplay where 99% of fights can be auto-attacked
>unremarkable graphics (not the same as art-style)
>basically the same story as the other persona games, again
Half of all Sonic games.
Final Fantasy XIV
Its strange how a lot of the boss the music in XIV feels like it doesn't even fit the tone of the game let alone the game itself
Correct, but on its own its brety gud
you can shit on the game but if you shit on the soundtrack then you're just retarded
Some of you will hate me for this, but most top-down shmups.
The game you like
NTA but sonic games in general are fucking ass, except the music. Only furry autists enjoy them.
Too many gacha games but mostly genshin
The Dig (1995)
Megaman Zero 2
Z2 is the best game in the Mega Man franchise, what the fuck are you talking about
Ive never even heard about a game where people said "yeah everything is shit but you play it for the music." Besides ddr or guitar autismos
I know some gay probably already said it, but I have to make sure brainless coomer shills don't misrepresent it
NieR (and/or) Automata
XIV except the story is good
The impossible game
Jojos bizarre adventure; the anime and the games.
Yugioh duelists of the roses
guitar hero 3
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness.
Man that game was shite, but I still listen to the soundtrack every now and again
Blue Reflection fits this to a T.
The soundtrack in that game is fucking amazing, just a shame everything else is boring as shit.
The graphics/aesthetics are fine. Also the boss battles were hype as fuck, managed to do the BGM justice despite the rest of the game playing like shit.
I play all my games muted or at 5 volume
They NEVER miss
Vib-Ribbon for the playstation x entertainment system
the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series
And I'll also include the Judgment games here as well
the only exception would probably be Kiwami 1
Any Sonic game with good music
Just about anything in the Nier series
the adaptive music responds to your throttle output, ground velocity, and if you're moving away or towards the surface. each planet has a unique score
It's funny that nu-Ganker praises western games like God of Walk. This board really is beyond saving.
What do you expect from a board full of zoomers.
>nu-Ganker praises western games like God of Walk
WHEN HAS THIS BOARD EVER DEFENDED GOD OF WAR
THIS BOARD HAS DONE NOTHING BUT S H I T T I N G ON "GOD OF BORE" SINCE BEFORE IT CAME OUT
JUST BECUSE YOU SAW ONE RANDOM bro SAYING "well it's good actually :^*~~*~~" DOESN'T MEANT THAT NOW THE BOARD IS DEEPTHROATING THE GAME
ask a random Ganker bro what they think about the new god of war games and i'll GUA-RAN-TEE that his response will be at best "I don't like" and at worst a sequnce of racial slurs
there were plenty of butthurt anons when Elden Ring won GOTY
"plenty" does not mean "majority"
1 or 2 gays can shout for 100-200 people if they're autistic enough, that's not even counting all the contrarians doing it for what must (for them) the *absolute* thrill of going against the grain
Not every Japanese game is good.
I'm pretty weeb-heavy in my taste but I have standards.
No you don't.
They aren't high, but they're there.
I'd be willing to bet they just really hated From/Souls and knew Ragnarok was the only game that could realistically beat it.
it's just reddit now
Anon, are you actually, genuinely implying that every single Japanese game has good gameplay?
Need I remind you that Devil's Third exists?
Every single pokemon game
This shit game's soundtrack is pretty much the only thing that makes me want to play it again.
ey yo dis fire
I'll take the shittest JRPG's gameplay over shit like Skyrim any day of the week.
>"i'd rather eat shit than drinks vomit"
bro have you just... tried playing games with good gameplay?
shut the fuck up ESL
>"I hate bad games"
>"Have you tried good games?"
>"Shut up also ur mexican"
Never change Ganker, never change...
That anon was right.
about what? me beeing mexican or JRPGs > Skyrim?
Well why don't you just STOP playing bad games?
Just becuase [Game] sucks less than [other Game] doesn't mean i'm gonna play it
The entire SaGa franchise.
Any AAA Western game since every composer is a wannabe Hans Zimmer
While not really related, i just wanted to let you know that you're not gonna make me like the middle east just because they didn't put a rainbow filter on their bethesda twitter account
I don't know why but some of the bigger gacha games like Arknights and Fate/whatever just decided to give their glorified PNG fighter fucking fire as hell music seemingly for no other reason other than because they can.
Loved Nier Automata's gameplay
Loved Nier Automata's graphics
Loved Nier Automata's story
Loved Nier Automata's music
3D sonic. Even Sonic 06 has some downright bangers.
Death Crimson when using proper equipment.
What genre is that?
I'd say Trance if I had to guess, but no idea.
>everytime when thinking of it's name I think how it sounds like tr*ns
FUCKING PAY ME RENT
>Scorching Wind starts playing
I can almost forgive all the bugs and jank.
Ultimate Custom Night
Super Meat Boy Forever
>blip blooop DUDUDUD *same exact beat for every song* DDUIDUDU DADADA WHEHEHEHZHEHEH WUDUDUDU *MICK GORDON FARTING* DUDUDUD DA DOOOOM SLAAYA DUDUDDU *WET FART* DEH

Seethe harder Underfags.
Literally Metal Gear Rising
Any Sonic game made end of joke, enough said
Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures
World of warcraft. Except in the last years the music became shit too
Py & Gity 2: The Industrial Age
Someone probably mentioned it already but this
The Noisia OST goes so fucking hard it's unreal
This theme also reminds me of Madoka Magica's witches for some reasons
Any 2005-2015 Korean MMO
Every sonic game after 2000 except Mania and its expansions
honestly I feel bad for the composers
tbh this shit on 2014 tablet hardware looks better than a lot of JRPG, even jrpg that only avaliable on PS4 ported to PC like falcom garbage
Have you played it in handheld mode? It’s like 320p
yeah it looks like shit on switch, but its not just about the resolution, most JRPG looks like garbage even when i play it on 4K maxed out, everything looks so dated except sharper images on higher res
i emulate xenoblade 2 and 3 on yuzu and it already looks billion times better than most JRPG on steam
animations, texture work, facial expression, modeling, all that real time cutscenes
Did anyone ever fix the emulation issues with 2's memory leak? I kinda wanna replay and just blow through the main story but I don't wanna go through it on the Switch
3 and Warriors of Rock had decent stories.
None of the categories reach a high level of trash or amazing, but Mario Sunshine.
monster hunter rise
warhammer mechanicus, although i wouldnt really consider other aspects trash. The music is just faw and away the best part
For some reason, Tim Follin mostly only ever composed for shit/shovelware games his entire career. But he went above and beyond for every single one.
Most good games were the result of a larger developer that had their own sound team. Like konami music is so good because they have the Konami Kukeiha Club rather than having to outsource composers to come in they had a whole department that developed, composed and worked to understand the limitations of the hardware.
To be fair, some visual aspects were ok, but still a trash game carried by the OST.
Platformers probably. Liked a lot of Mario music growing up but I don’t remember any of them beyond that.
Gundam Musou 3
The soundtracks are anime quality at worst and movie quality at best. It sounds like it could be in movies or high tier OVAs and it's accompanied by some of the jankiest code failure of a crafting series that literally looks as though it's smearing falling apart as you turn your camera. It's a hideous game series with terrible gameplay and insipid stories none of the graphics or gameplay live up to its concept work. Not to mention that it's alchemy system is the most retarded and random feature so you have this barely functioning exploration segment capped by mandatory alchemy nonsense. It really needs to be overhauled
