Then you're going to want to play OW instead of CP2077. The latter does many things that are not progressive.

I personally would pay for both. You only need to play a couple hours of each to get the experience. No need to focus too hard on them.
I have around 2000 hours in cp2077 but I'm not going to recommend it. Get Outer Worlds instead.

I like high tech and low life. I do a lot of modding but also this is likely my favorite game. So I play it over and over and over again.

Wait for Phantom Liberty to drop for Cyberpunk 2077 since when the DLC launches they're gonna completely gut and rework the RPG mechanics. I haven't played Outer Worlds and only played CP2077 while it was in it's buggy mess that they claimed to have fixed now.
Outer Worlds has more noticeable girlboss prevalence, all the strong capable or good people for the most part are women, and the writing is very surface level complaints about late-stage capitalism. But, it was a whole game on release, they didn't garden gnome people out of their money, they delivered the product they promised. Cyberpunk is more dirty and dingy, women get fucked up and dropped more commonly, in general it's darker and more extreme in tone. But the company is filled with garden gnomes that have no problem outright lying about their products.
Outer worlds companions fucking suck, meanwhile companions in cyberfuck 2069 are pretty kino.
with mods 2077 is good. without mods it's pretty shit.
Outer Worlds is just okay and there aren't very many good mods for it.
they're both worth picking up if you can get them heavily discounted, so I'd recommend waiting until the next Steam sale. otherwise just pirate them, they're both on GOG.
What mods do you recommend?
if you're like me and hate Borderlands looter bullet sponge shit, get the combat overhaul mod that makes enemies and yourself die to reasonable amounts of bullets. also get the immersive stuff like food vendors and bartenders, and get rid of the NPC healthbars and shit.
this collection has a lot of good ones, but I'd recommend actually picking through it instead of installing the whole thing.

Yeah, last patch broke a lot. Most people are waiting for 2.0 before they update.
Cyberpunk has amazing characters. Damn what a good fucking game glad I didn't play it until they fixed it
The new 2.0 patch for Cyberpunk comes out in 2 weeks and it is changing/adding a lot so just wait for that, also the new DLC is coming out as well so you can get that if you like the base game. The Outer Worlds genuinely is not even worth the torrent.
cp2077 for shure. played both on release(yes even the beta version that cp came out as).

the Outer Worlds 2.0 remaster actually runs worse which is a shame. Not worth buying unless you want to pay for season pass and shit.
CP77 redeemed itself ages ago and the free 2.0 update is only gonna make it better. People still only hate it cause a youtuber told them to 3 years ago

CP2077 is the best Sci-Fi RPG ever made.
Cyberpunk unironically. Outer Worlds was just bland and boring, and New Vegas is one of my favourite games.

cyberpunk. you will hate every single character in outer worlds, and the plot is just "everyone is stupid except you, the mary sue chosen one".
Only the first world of outer worlds is good, the rest of the game is too much copy paste and "men bad".
Cyberpunk, easily. Outer worlds is basically New Vegas if it was shallow as a puddle and the writers worked at Gearbox. Cyberpunk has a fantastic setting, good writing, satisfying combat, good music, beautiful graphics and art. It's not perfect but I've loved it from the start.
That said as others have mentioned, wait for the DLC/update to come out.
play OW right now, play Cyperpunk after phantom liberty drops, it brings a ton of improvements for the base game too and will improve it from great to kino
