My fricking God that pic gives me AIDs. I've not watched it. Is.... is that capture indicative of her acting?
I saw her doing all the hand wavy shit in the trailer. Fricking hell that trailer looked like it got shat out of the 80s-90... fricking Willow had a better trailer.
Dwarves are actually the worst fantasy race, but that's good. Bear with me. Dwarves are hard-working, stout, and fearless in the face of everything except a quarterly loss.
They're basically a fantasy race strictly for capitalists. Everything else in fantasy is escapist as frick, and here comes dwarves to kick you in the face with all your due bills.
They don't hate you for being a nambly, pambly, flower-eating ponce. No, that would be very uncomplicated of them, and dwarves are nothing if not complicated. They hate you for not being aware of your profit and loss tally over the last two week period. They can't fricking stand your lack of financial literacy.
So, no, dwarves aren't the best fantasy race, but that's totally fine.
To me Dwarves were less Industrial capitalists and more master artisans. It's the difference between a man who makes the finest weapons in all the land and the dark lords army of Hobgoblins decked out in mass produced slabs of metal. They don't care about quarterly loss, they care that your great great ancestors insulted them. It's not sweat shops and fiscal returns, it's honour and skilled traditional work done well. They care more about the craftsmanship than the price tag.
This, capitalists are fat c**ts who don't work. Nepotistic useless morons that pay slaves to make things as cheaply as possible.
If you buy something off a dwarf, you're buying it from the dude that made it.
Dragons if you allow non Humanoids. Smart, large, powerful, can kick ass, charismatic. What's not to love?
For Humanoid... I'd say Tengu. Proper Japanese Tengu not PF/D&D crow people. Winged, wise but proud, often mentors for heroes, tricky and will push your face in if you frick with them, magical. A strict and weird hierarchical society. If they aren't allowed, animal people. I like the stereotypes tied to each animal combined with the Humanoid flexibility. If standard fantasy races are allowed, Dwarves all the way. Hate Hobbits in any form though.
Exactly this. I love me some Dwarves because of that.
They care more about clan politics and traditional artisanry than pure profit, which makes them always get overrun with human chinkshit production quotas once they get going.
>best
There is no definitive scale of measure for imagining things that are impossible or improbable; something is either impossible or it isn't, and the absolute range of improbability is perceivably infinite, depending on the context.
But I'd say dwarves are fairly bad in terms of being a fantasy race, because human dwarfism isn't impossible; in fact, it isn't even improbable to a significant degree when compared to the size of the human population (1:15000, out of literal billions of humans).
They are a race of manlets. They HAVE to cope with that fact somehow
Imagine living as a dwarf and knowing everysingle other race is taller than you. Imagine having to look UP at people looking DOWN at you. They might not even think anything of it but they do not have to live with this fact of life like you do. At least halflings are chill and do not give a shit but dwarves don't even have that, book of grudges, remember?

This, the only dorf gay I ever actually played with was 5'9 irl and constantly talked about how dwarves are the "ideal fighting height"
They're consistently the same. Elves and other popular fantasy races have been massively diluted by different versions, such that 'elf' carries essentially no meaning. It could big a gigachad human, a blue person, or a fricking garden gnome. Dwarfs are always stout and stocky traditionalists that live below ground.
>because they can do such stuff
do what?
trick gullible humans and try to convince them to finance the construction of over engineered unnecessary crap that will never be finished?
lie and make up non-existent threats just to secure funding?
I mean seriously what the frick is a "skaven"
dwarfs are a joke
Dwarves, elves, and orcs are the three primary stickers in ‘standard fantasy’ because they represent three excellent archetypes, which in a broad sense are representations of humanity.
Elves are ‘nobility’. They are long-lived, intelligent, wise, beautiful, highly skilled, and cultured. Yet they suffer from arrogance, pride, and detachment from the ‘common’ people. They are an idealised portrayal of the upper class.
Dwarves are ‘working class’. They crawl out of bed in the morning, have a hearty breakfast, work hard all the long day, party hard all the night, and stumble home to do it all again tomorrow. They take pride in their work, they work with their hands, they produce things of great beauty, and they seem more ‘in touch’ than elves. They are an idealised portrayal of the working class.
Orca are ‘the savage’. They are violent, aggressive, I’ll-tempered, and barely able to cooperate. They cannot build civilisation, only tear down what others have built. They cannot make things of beauty, only crude tools, or steal what others have made. Murderers, robbers, rapists, unwashed barbarian hordes at the gates threatening to steal all you have created and burn down whatever they cannot carry away. They represent all of the negative aspects of humanity.
So you have this trifecta of exaggerated archetypes of humanity, with humans sitting in the middle. Unsurprisingly, we as humans gravitate towards the dwarves because many people relate to the “work hard, play hard” race, since that is many people’s reality. Plus they exhibit various positive traits, including strength, stability, loyalty, wisdom, and a healthy distrust for people who want to upset the apple cart.
>ahahahah industrial men tiny
I've heard that some of them never invented the wheel

Frick that noise and frick your capitalist bullshit.

Not sure about best, but it wins the most insecure race hands down.
Kobolds are the best.
I just don't get it.
Haha. Beards.

The best fantasy race is that hasn't been done into the dirt. Give me something new and interesting.
sauce? Looks really neat
>a barbarian blocks your path
My OC race Mnhqkukq'Tcha

Dwarf women have beards.
How do you make dwarves fun? I've always wanted to try but I just can't make it click, I end up with humans instead.
Help me get dwarfpilled, gamers
dwarves, orcs, and elves are the most boring, rehashed, uninteresting shit ever and I'm tired of people thinking otherwise.
Because you were a bullied manlet at some point of your life
