It’s between e-celebs and game journos. Discord’s pretty bad too but I’d rather be in a boring dead air lobby than have games neutered cause some journo or celeb is too much of a fricking tard to play it right. Or have them encourage more painful movie game shlock mediocrity by pretending it’s the second coming of christ.

in order from most negatively impacting to least:

Money determines everything. They make more money on collecting your data, using it to manipulate people, then lowering the amount of effort that they use to make the game. They don't even have a reason to make games as we knew them , they now just put all their profits into learning how to manipulate and drain their audiences with growing efficiency.

    >discord
If your community got torn appart by discord drama, power-hungry homosexuals and circlejerking, it was a bad community to begin with.
    >twitch and other ecelebery
It's counterbalanced. Some of the biggest ecelebs are actually real gamers and not just posers.
    >gaming journos and "news" sites/channels
Problem here is the loud minority. Vast majority of gaming "journalists" just write unnoticeable articles that get posted on Ganker anyway - the screechy blue-hair type are just for polemic's sake.
Anyone with anything worthwhile to say turned to content creation anyway.
    >microtransactions
Actually a good thing. You can get many games at a reduced price and target whales in game.
    >trans people
If your "community" can be ruined by some screeching homosexual in a dress, it deserved to die anyway. And depending on whether they're the autistic or gay kind of troon, they'll probably turn into a modder or lolcow. If their mere existence bothers you, have sex.

    >something else
Big studios NEVER trying to innovate gameplay wise to reassure investors who want their quarterly returns. That's the poison.

    >Whiners who b***h about having to be always online and games costing too much therefore they are forced to pirate. All while they b***h about this on the internet (which they're always on) from their ~$3K RGB rigs and peripherals.
    >Cutesy and coomer character designs forced into aesthetics that are otherwise mature and serious to cover all bases and appeal to [s] the lowest common denominator [/s] every denomination.

microtransactions by far, devs do so much scummy shit with them that is just making games worse.
Game journos are just scum but as far as im aware their influence is getting less and less over time.
Trannies are speedrunning becoming worse than microtransactions but they aren't quite there yet.
Eceleb homosexualry is whatever, sure they're annoying but i don't see how they affect single player games at all outside of fanbase shit.
Discord is whatever, its annoying to have everything try to be some kind of multiplayer shit, and people putting resources in discords that should be on wikis or websites, but its tertiary stuff so meh.

Allows for a quicker and more explicit structuring of communities such that hierarchies end up being established with direct ways to enact it via server rules which are easier to set up for the layman on discord.

Gaming becoming big business is the only reason it went to shit. Now it's all about turning every last thing into "resource" and squeezing every last bit of profit from it without doing any actual work.
