TotK is basically BotW, but with more shit.
However, BotW did it first and was actually fairly fresh and interesting when it came out, compared to the glorified DLC that is TotK.
I guess TotK, but I didn't like it as much as BotW
Too much of TotK is organizing junk and most of the additions are marginal improvements that are not as fully fledged out as they should be like caves and Skylands. The Nuts and Bolts thing was something that I think should have been omitted.
I like BOTW better. It was a breath of fresh air for the time, and it was very well designed. I agree with
I think the nuts and bolts thing was a very good technical achievement, but it doesn’t gel with a Zelda game. Item fusion was done very well with minimizing menu usage which I think other games should learn from.
I enjoyed Botw more than totk, and this has nothing to do with "hurr durr same game". Botw feels better designed as a whole, Totk, feels like if an entire group of different people have grabbed botw and worked on it without having the original devs vision in mind, many things just feel weird and out of place in this game (i know the same team worked on this, but you get the point)
Tears of the kingdom is basically a remake of BotW with many improvements and more content overall. The biggest advantage TotK has in in its atmosphere, with the sky islands and the underground being much more interesting aesthetically than anything was in BotW. In fact, the main thing holding back TotK is that it's stuck with BotW's overworld. If the entire game world had been made from scratch, more of it would have been more interesting like those new areas.
The sky islands and underground sucked ass though. The saddest part about totk is the most interesting thing about it was basically the reused content.
There's almost no reused content. The shrines, quests and story were all completely redone. What was reused was the aesthetic elements, but that's not the game's content. BotW's content was not "there's a mountain over there" or "in this place there's a village" it was the 120 shrines, none of which are in TotK.
What was your fantasy for TotK before your dreams got crushed? >No more tech shit. We're magic again >No more shrines, No more towers, No more koroks >Some Alttp dark-world shenanigans, mainland Hyrule covered in eternal darkness and completely FUCKED by Ganon (I thought the skylands were going to be literal chunks of Hyrule and act like safe areas in the game. Just my headcanon after trailer #2 where Ganon was like "RISE MY SERVANTS" and they made it seem like there was an eternal blood-moon before I realize it was all bullshot) >Some kind of partner again, maybe even Zelda herself (why is Rauru almost nonexistent after plateau?) >More time with the new champions (at least we got this) >bombastic soundtrack, no more "serene emptiness" >expected final encounter with Ganon on top of Hyrule Castle again, which honestly I would have preferred instead of him turtling underground. I thought they would have made climbing the castle a real bitch covered with a million enemies but it was easy and there was fuck all. Seriously why wasn't Ganon more active?
If I had a gun pointed to my head, I would probably pick Breath of the Wild simply because it was fresh and new. At the very least, it was an experiment with a larger, more open world. Tears of the Kingdom, on the other hand, is like BotW's schizophrenic twin brother.
Tears is more polished, but I don't think that more polish means its necessarily better. You have issues that Tears introduces compounded by the issues that already existed in Breath of the Wild that were either barely addressed or outright ignored... an example being the contentious weapon durability mechanics.
I felt like they kind of destroyed the appeal of just running around hyrule in totk by making vehicles and gliding from sky islands so much faster than just walking or riding a horse, so it felt a lot harder to enjoy the little details. I'd just see something I want to go to and instead of walking over and maybe getting distracted, I'd find the nearest sky island and glide, or make a hovercraft and fly straight there, not distractions, no appreciation of what's in between a and b.
TotK is a better game, but BotW had a wow factor because it was the first good 3D Zelda game, and TotK wasn't nearly enough of an improvement to compare to that feeling during the first run of BotW.
both are great
this is just a flamewar by a certain group of third worlders who have been trying really hard to paint totk as some flop while shilling their ripoff slop
i heard many of them applied for a certain position on this site so that they can abuse their power (someone most likely already received an acceptance mail), already keep receiving many warnings every time i call them out
TotK shoulnt have given you your paraglider back. Would have made you rely more on building contraptions.
Would also have to rebalance batteries and how often things disintegrate.

Are these even different games?
its the same game
Oot

Team Botw represent.
Why'd you post two images of the same mediocre game

>switch 2 announced
>new Zelda!
>its BotW 1080p60 edition
This shit is Nintendo's Skyrim. Make a new game for fucks sake.

Definitely a botv.
Calm, measured adventure, smooth exploration, travel feel.
Totk has too much garbage, as if a child started modding san andreas, adding everything that comes to hand

It is the absolute apex of contrarianism and the Zelda cycle to say BotW is better than TotK.
> "STOP THE COUNT!"
Nah man, I believe the count. I just think it's fucking dumb.

wow

you forgot to post the other game op
Same shit, different flavor
