ASUS is the only one doing dual HDMI ports on the current gen, so that was a deciding factor for me. If that doesn't matter, anything but Gigabyte should be safe.

They've historically cut corners. The D4 Beta blowing up 3080Tis hit Gigabyte the most or completely (can't remember if there were others, but Gigabyte had a shitload).

I play it on my 4090. It's fun and it's not Japanese, so that's 8 things going for it.

Oh christ, you're one of those moronic Americans who buys almost all their entire consumables from China, including most of their games (your games are outsourced to Chinese and Asian studios) but you have this weird impression that you only support American.
It makes sense that you're a Blizzard fanboy, only someone who has a sub 80 I.Q. would make such a blatantly moronic choice.

Cracked boards and bad traces in the 30 and 40 Series. MSI has less QC issues than Gigabyte, but ASUS seems to be the safe bet so far.

No, 4000 series released just over 2 years after 3000. 4000 isn't 2 years old yet.

The vendor is not that important. It really boils down to expensive = good. Gigabyte for example is not that amazing, but you can safely get their most expensive line, aorus elite it's called I think. For asus it's rog strix, for msi it's suprim if I recall correctly, you get the idea.

  8. 3 weeks ago

The only thing that matters are boost clock speeds and oc lines. Base speed cards are all virtually identical following the exact same manufacturing standards.

it's not about who makes the best cards anymore, it's about which model in the lineup is the best
Generally, this gens best are Asus Strix, MSI Suprim and FE

Asus. Specifically the tuf ones, not ROG. Msi is ok if you don't buy one of their israeli cards with no backplate or non-metal backplate

For anyone itt wondering about amd, sapphire. Powercolor is ok unless it's one of their cheap israelite cards. Do NOT buy amd gpus from companies that also make nvidia gpus.

I bought a 4080 TUF and it whined so bad I had to swap it out, but the second also whined but eventually the whining stopped and it’s been a great card.

        >but eventually the whining stopped
        What's the explanation here?

Whining is a random event. You might go weeks without hearing it, then you might hear it a couple of times in a day.

          Anonymous

It has to do with the electricity making the coils move because there is so much being pumped through but eventually the cards get “broken in” over time and it does down a lot or all together. If you read about it online you can get a bit of a deeper explanation.

            Anonymous

It's weird. Everything I read talks about heavy loads causing it, but it occurs almost 100% of the time when I'm just desktopping.

              Anonymous

Maybe just keep using it under heavy loads and maybe it eventually 'pops' and stops. I had my PSU bzzzz but then it went away.

The fighter model is not good. You want a backplate. For the same or similar price a sapphire pulse or xfx core model would be better. Powercolor is good overall but their budget gpu is too cheaply made.
