I wanna like Wimpod because I love Isopods/Horseshoe crabs IRL but I don't like the human looking face. It looks totally different from the adorable button-eye faces of actual isopods.
I've never pretended to like Impidimp.
The Mankey line have been my favorite Kanto fighting types since before SV was released and I slightly prefer Mankey over both of its evos.
I've never cared about the Teddiursa line.
>WHY DIDN'T IT EVOLVE INTO A COOL DRAGON?!
Anon, Dunsparce is based off a tsuchinoko. Tsuchinokos are goofy-looking. The evolution is supposed to be a joke.
bad OP
goofy pokemon > badass pokemon every day of the week
>Dudunsparce is good because Dunsparce is supposed to be goofy!
I hate using this word but this is actual cope. Dunsparce's evo being goofy is fine. Dudunsparce isn't bad because it's goofy, it's bad because it's boring and lazy as shit and being "goofy" doesn't change that. Dunsparce's evo didn't have to be a "cool dragon" to be good, it just had to stand on its own, be distinct, be anything except literally just be a slightly edited copy+paste of its previous stage. I don't even mind "it just gets bigger" evolutions, but this is worse than that. You can't even tell Dudunsparce and Dunsparce apart from each other if you view them from a certain angle.
By the way, Dunsparce has been one of my favorite Pokémon for years. And that just makes it all the more disappointing that an evolution for one of my favorites that I waited so long to get was so unbelievably underwhelming. It almost feels like mockery how little effort they put into it.
Wimpod is fine
I like Morgrem but hate Impidimp
Mankey and Primeape are fine
I like Teddiursa and Ursaring but hate Ursaluna, Blood Moon is so bad it’s funny
golisopod is still a massive coward who just decided to rename his running away strategy "tactically retreating" and the hairy goblin whose name I forget is a weak lanky gay who uses hair to look menacing. how are either of those edgy?
>WHY DIDN'T IT EVOLVE INTO A COOL DRAGON?!
Anon, Dunsparce is based off a tsuchinoko. Tsuchinokos are goofy-looking. The evolution is supposed to be a joke.
It's an EVOLUTION, Anon. It changes form. It doesn't have to stay cute and doofy-looking forever. Case in point: Magikarp, Elekid, Feebas, Gible.
I would've rather had it evolve into the Yamata no Orochi. That way, it can still keep the Japanese snake myth motif, but it can also become a badass.
A lot of those mons have reasons as for why they evolve into what they are.
Magikarp is based off that one Japanese story of koi putting in effort to swim upstream and turn into dragons, elekid was a babymon introduced purely for the sake of showing off gen 2 having babymons of certain evo lines, it's middle evolution came first, feebas is probably based off some other Japanese thing about turning an ugly thing beautiful, and gible is a pseudo-legedary like larvitar or dratini so it has a justified reason to turn into a badass powerhouse.
Dunsparce is a goofy snake creature with not much else to him so he'll remain a goofy snake creature with not much else to him.
Explain with your words how the joke of how dunsparce's evolution dudunsparce is a comedic failure, when by most accounts, people seem to understand the joke and think its funny.
Dudunsparce is based because the 3 segment form returns it to being a mechanically pointless trophy like it was originally while also making it viable for battling.
I think it's alright. I like Pokémon that just get bigger. My favorite Pokémon is Bulbasaur and that's like the definition of just getting bigger. I think the design would have worked better with more majestic wings. The small wings and awkward body make it look pretty weak.
why do people say dudunsparce is lazy? I saved an image with 50+ fanmade dunsparce evos made before gen 9 and none of them were even close to dudunsparce.
>Who the fuck approved this design?
The same people who approved lazy cartoon Animals like seel, greedent and lechonk and yet is still Better than these
i hear the argument "dunsparce is supposed to be a joke" a lot from people defending this turd of an evolution and i really do not i understand it in the slightest, it's mostly just baseless bullshit like the "dun" is supposed to refer to "dunce" or that the tsuchinoko is a "joke" cryptid
and in regards to it's strength, sure it sucks in competitive, but it's always been perfectly usable in single-player even in it's debut gen, where game freak most definitely had little-to-no grasp on the competitive scene, and when gen 3 came around they gave the damn thing serene grace
i've never seen anyone saying mons with lower BSTs and worse abilities than dunsparce were made by game freak as "jokes"
>ve, but it's always been perfectly usable in single-player even in it's debut gen,
Most pokefans don't realize that, Most people who actually played GSC aged out of the franchise so all you have left are nu-fans whose only exposure to Dunsparce is third-rate shitposters calling it and the rest of Johto worthless while idiots clap. Ignoring the fact that most Gen 2 Pokémon were strong enough for in game, and on average were decent in PvP., only falling off due to being the unlucky who weren't allowed to get KANTOOOOO Shilling or Nu-Gen Privilege.
Hell, the logic for Dunsparce being intended to be disappointing falls apart due to Yanma fitting the whole dunce thing better due to being stupidly rare and being one of the few Gen2 Pokémon that actually was unusably bad in its introduction. yet Game Freak respected it enough to give it a REAL evolution.
Dunsparce didn't need to (nor should it be) epic dragon, but it would have been SOMETHING
>"dun" is supposed to refer to "dunce"
I think that's a problem that the German localizers are responsible for. They named it "Dummisel", which roughly means "dumb chisel", and English speaking fans decided to use that as proof that "Dun" is actually short for "Dunce" rather than "Dun" as in sub-imago. 2022 was the first time that the insect-relevant definition of dun appeared on Bulbapedia's Dunsparce page, which is ignorance on a surprising level
The fact you have people defending this to be contrarian toward those who don't like it are fucking retards. I actually saw someone made a good argument on why it's a terrible design.
The problem with it isn't the fact that's just Dunsparce with an extra segment nor the fact it's not super cool/edgy; the problem with it is the fact that the evolution came out too late. Look at it, if this thing came out during Gen 2, it would have been better received, especially since this is during the time where evolution for majority of the Pokémon were literally "It just got bigger". The fact that it took this long to give a 24 year old Pokémon an evolution and this is result is disappointing. It didn't need to be edgy either, I have seen a fanart where Dunsparce evolution where it just turn into a giant fat version with more wings and would have work better because there is more of a change than an extra segment. It's so fucking lazy and forgettable and if it was meant to be a joke, then I'm not laughing.
> Look at it, if this thing came out during Gen 2, it would have been better received, especially since this is during the time where evolution for majority of the Pokémon were literally "It just got bigger”
Dunsparce as a whole would be better reconvene because then it’s rarity would be justified due to having a fairly strong evolution, especially for the time.
the problem is the fact that it's an evolution at all. a form change would have sufficed.
Form change wouldn’t be enough, Dunsparce stats were way too low, it absolutely needed an evolution
>then it’s rarity would be justified due to having a fairly strong evolution, especially for the time.
That is entirely against the point of the monster, it's based on the tsuchinoko the entire point is that it's this ungodly rare cryptid that is ultimately nothing special, just a fat snake that likes to drink..
Dudunsparce is more of a good thing. I enjoyed the little guy in GSC when I had one, and I always like to have him in my teams when playing through the stories if I find him because he's a tough little fella. I like Dudunsparce because it didn't become some fucked up looking monster. It's the Dunsparce centipede, being multiple tsuchinokos sewn together ass to mouth.
>NOOOOO WHY ISN'T IT LE EBIN DWAGON
how many of the designs in this image do you like OP?
None of them, why? Dunsparce just get bigger
Cope, answer the question.
he literally did answer the question you fucking mongoloid
why is every fucking person on this fucking board illiterate
they did, you just didn't like the answer
This is beyond bad reading comprehension you are a mongloid retard.
Arrest, there's no questions, only insults
he did you retard
Most evolutions are you stupid gay
I've always liked Mankey and Teddiursa.
I like all of these and Dudunsparce.
>Not liking based Golisopod
>Not liking based Mankey line
Imagine having such shitty taste
I wanna like Wimpod because I love Isopods/Horseshoe crabs IRL but I don't like the human looking face. It looks totally different from the adorable button-eye faces of actual isopods.

finally someone speaking sense
Blood Moon Ursaluna doesn't have a pre-evo.
Every single one of those is a 10/10 design, and are shining examples what every single Pocket Monster should end up being.
I was a huge primeape and ursaring fan before gen 9 and now thanks to you fuckers who post this image ill never get to actually say that
>caring what miserable Gankerfags think
Wimpod is fine
I like Morgrem but hate Impidimp
Mankey and Primeape are fine
I like Teddiursa and Ursaring but hate Ursaluna, Blood Moon is so bad it’s funny
cringe response
Primeape is literally one of my favourite Pokemon and i wanted it in smash since Melee. Go fuck your self
I'm a person who likes scary badass pokemon.
Why would i think that it's a bad opinion?
I hate cute or harmless looking garbagemons
Liking edgy pokemon don't make you a bad person.
it doesn't make you a bad person, just infantile
golisopod is still a massive coward who just decided to rename his running away strategy "tactically retreating" and the hairy goblin whose name I forget is a weak lanky gay who uses hair to look menacing. how are either of those edgy?
Considering Game Freak hates Johto for having “kiddy designs” you’d think they would have taken taken this opportunity to “fix” Dunsparce
>WHY DIDN'T IT EVOLVE INTO A COOL DRAGON?!
Anon, Dunsparce is based off a tsuchinoko. Tsuchinokos are goofy-looking. The evolution is supposed to be a joke.
So the model being dogshit is part of the joke too, I'm guessing?
>IT'S BASED ON SOMETHING WHICH MAKES IT LE GOOD
Wow so every snigle pokemon is a good design then, what a high standard you have
i like to think they are
That's because you have no standards
I don't focus on how much I hate the designs of the pokemon that I don't like, I just use the pokemon I like.
simple as

Yeah well it fails
Explain with your words how the joke of how dunsparce's evolution dudunsparce is a comedic failure, when by most accounts, people seem to understand the joke and think its funny.
>your only argument relies on the opinions of casuals and twitter normies
Ok
jokes are just an excuse for laziness
Dudunsparce is based because the 3 segment form returns it to being a mechanically pointless trophy like it was originally while also making it viable for battling.

it's cute and funny

There are one-thousand Pokemon, you don't have to like all of them.
>retarded pokemon gets retarded evolution
What's the issue here?
Dudunsparce is based and I'm tired of pretending he's not.
I did.
And I'll approve an even worse one next gen.
i hear the argument "dunsparce is supposed to be a joke" a lot from people defending this turd of an evolution and i really do not i understand it in the slightest, it's mostly just baseless bullshit like the "dun" is supposed to refer to "dunce" or that the tsuchinoko is a "joke" cryptid

fun fact: if you like Dudunsparce you belong on Reddit
Oh my God
Who actually gives a fuck you never cared for dunsparce anyway Just make a pokegirl thread now
>I think it looks too simple and it should evolve into a 600 BST monster from [INSERT MYTHOLOGY]
Thank god you retards have no say what so ever.
I prefer the Vega fan-made evolution where it becomes this fat fuck
