I saw a chunk of it back when it was first being memed, the first hour and a bit was discussing the mythology that inspired the game.
No. This 14 hour video is actually lots of smaller essays put together into one video. His videos actually have some cool insights, details and goes into depth on a lot of the things that inspire Persona 4. For instance, I'd never know had I not watch his videos that the shrine in the city that inspired Inaba is related to Konohana Sakuya (Yukiko's Persona). Basically, a bunch of retards here love to complain about long essays. And while there are some cases that I can agree that are completely asinine, like the Ann character analysis for example, some long essays are actually good and interesting to watch,
every 3+ hour "essay" is essentially this, it's not surprising in the least
The original Morrowind one and the subsequent TES videos by that same guy were actually thorough and researched though

I've done the same but I gave up on the degree idea immediately when I realized college is a scam. I did get some useful feedback from peers in my community college course, but then again I could have just posted my shit online for the same feedback and gotten more honest criticism that way too.
Yeah... as much as I enjoyed university it was easily the biggest waste of time in my life, and just further killed my motivation to write. Shit, I was literally posting my stuff online for the same, if not better results like you said.
Yeah I got more feedback from just sharing my first chapter draft with my friends than I did working on it for an entire semester. All I got from my classmates was a lot of empty praise, a bunch of written critiques that said nothing (and half were in broken English) and the only real useful advice I got was "you infodumped too much about the setting at once, try to just focus on telling the story and add in worldbuilding more naturally" after my rough which was something I was already aware of and had been fixing for the second draft.
