The screen shots and message in the Konami site say a faithful adaptation, the screenshots are 1:1 recreations, and the companies making it are Virtuous ( a chink, chinese company) and probably also Konami (the former Kojipro staff), there is 0 reason why it would be affected by western stardards.

The game isn't really pro Russia, the game shows Russia as an unstable corrupt shithole, and the US as a corrupt Big Brother, which is pretty standard characterization of both countries for the last 20 years.

The constant hazy fog and washy bloom evokes the early-story nuke explosion and makes you feel as if you can almost choke on that dust at times.

Other than MGS1, these are SAG games, and any new releases of it would require them to resign contracts. Konami literally found it to be cheaper to record all new VA than to resign the old contracts. Hell, even if they keep the original cast, Eva alone is pretty much guaranteed to be replaced, since she voice acted under a false name and Konami (and her) would have to eat the SAG fines for that. That's even assuming they know where she is or she wants to be gotten a hold of anyway, since she acted under a false name in order to avoid tarnishing what was reportedly a super family friendly/Christian career otherwise (it's oft-theorized that it was the actress for Ariel from the original Little Mermaid film, among many other family friendly roles).

They need to be able to log into Twitter and berate people for watching "normie anime" or not knowing about some low-budget, literally who visual novel adaptation. The problem is, enjoyment of the actually media is a detriment to being "the guy who knows the most about X," because almost by definition enjoyment of something and time spent on it correlate positively with each other. Zoomers like this can't play one game for 200 hours when they "need" to play five or six games this month to keep their gamer cred on the Discord server. Similarly, they will never seek out a 30 year-old game to play because it gives them little social currency in their nerd spheres, as the majority of zoomers simply have no stomach for old media of any kind.
I hang around with zoomers a lot because I'm going back to college and it's fucking insane how accurate this is. They consume things just to consume. They consider something a mere ten years old to be something old they don't want to bother watching. I'm 30. I didn't have a PS1 or 2 growing up, I've never owned a Playstation anything. I maybe saw MGS1 being played at a friend's house 20+ years ago, I don't remember. Anyway, I missed out on this series for the most part, the only MGS I've ever even played was like halfway through V. I'd imagine I'm the target audience for this; people who want to experience a legendary series but don't want to buy $$$ worth of old electronics or deal with the hassle of emulators. The fact that it's coming to the Series X pretty much guarantees a buy from me.

i don't get the hype for this series. i played mgs1 from start to finish, a bit of mgs2 and most of mgsv. i didn't like mgs1, mgsv was the worst combination of gameplay and level design i've ever seen (should've been just more of ground zeroes), and mgs2 didn't interest me enough to finish it.
