Because I've built it about 3 years ago.
I already built it.
I'm far too trans to build a PC myself
Don't cut your dick, tou. Do whatever degenerate shit you'll have to, but leave your dick alone. Thank me later
Too lazy
My almost 10 year old build is still trucking along and at this point I'm going to have to upgrade everything except the case so I'd like to not do that.
>except the case
>he thinks his 10 years old case is going to fit a new GPU
Anon, I...
Worked for me, I just had to hammer down a piece of metal that was sticking out
because I built a new one last month, also I have the same case and it was so fricking annoying trying to fit anything in there, it's so tiny - but I suppose you only need to do it once in a couple of years and when everything is in there it looks smart enough
I did, also I just bought a new CPU and I didn't know I was putting on my PC the core of the sun.
At least I don't feel the cold in winter.
Still runs fine for everything I actually want to do but I've been thinking about a new build. This cpu can't have much life left in it.
>want a real upgrade not a midgrade
>upgrade is $2000 + tip for the gubmint
Why don't you have 2k to spend on your hobby, Anon?
Poor spending + NEET
They never will tbh
Also expanding on >poor spending
Never smoke, anything, it's a waste of money and will kill you. I fricked up making it a habit when I was still a noob at life. I've done the math and if I skipped smoking the devil's lettuce for a year I'd have enough for a 4090 plus tip to throw away.
Why can't you understand that not all people on the planet live in America and Germany and get $5k a month? In my country, most people get up to $300 a month, how can they quickly upgrade for 2k? Considering the fact that our components are more expensive
>Wanting to buy a GPU now instead of waiting for the prices to drop
I want to buy a new CPU, but that means a new mobo + ddr5 ram too. Either you have to go for the 6 ghz Intel, or a high end multi core amd. My 3070 is bottlenecked by my older Amd and mobo.
>Either you have to go for the 6 ghz Intel, or a high end multi core amd
Only if you absolutely desire top end performance. For the majority the 12100F/12400F and 13th gen equivalents are so fricking good price/performance wise it's hard to recommend anything else when taking budget into account. The entire 7000 stack from amd is an utter scam once you include motherboard/ram and it feels bad buying into a 5 year old platform if you go with 5000, which in the budget section doesn't compete on price/perf.
This. You can get an i7-12700KF for around $500AUD at the moment, AMD shit is way overpriced for what it is.
Huh. Didn't realize Intel's pricing improved as much as it has. I'll shop around, come income tax time. Still going to be around 1k for the upgrade, though. Not going to sell off the old Amd, need it for my eventual home server build.
prices aren't gonna drop
I paid 2000$+ for a midrange rig (13600k + 4070TI + 32gb RAM & complete with everything else) because my country taxes the shit out of electronics.
Consider yourselves lucky.
I'm still happy with the one i built in 2017.
because of moronic prices you idiot
I was thinking about it, but to make the upgrade worth it I would be spending well over a grand and I just don't see the point. I built this one in 2017 and it's still good enough for everything I do.
>Why aren't you building a PC, anon?
I want to, but things are expensive right now and I also have little time, but as soon as things get a little more chill and I have more money/pieces get cheaper, I'll look into it more.
>shit is too expensive due to conversion rates and import taxes
>the games i play run fine and im not interested in the lastest AAA whatever for many reasons
4790k and a maxwell titan X and still holding up.
I built one in December.
Built one in 2020
>Mobo was DOA so I had to RMA
>RTX 2070 started overheating after 2 weeks so I RMA'd that as well. Oh wait, the RMA process was backed up. Had to buy an 3070 or be stuck with no card for months.
>new card arrives, use PC for a good 6 months
>all of a sudden PC randomly won't turn. sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
>start to look online to see what could be the problem
>next day PC shuts down forever and never powers back up
>take PC apart
>sold the parts that were still good (3070, my RMA'd 2070), keep my hard drives and throw the rest in the trash
>buy a PS5 + Switch that same Christmas
>it just works
>enjoy gaming without having to worry about random shit going wrong
Never ever touching PC gayming again
>everything else just breaks, it's not me being a moron
>Threw a CPU and RAM into trash instead of selling them
sure you did anon
yes i did. i was pretty sick of everything to do with PC gaming and did not care. had already made $3k selling my graphics cards during the drought
Did you bought a dell or something? LMAO
Not even a prebuilt get fricked this hard unless you bought striaght up chinise tier shit and literally hammered the parts with no paste.
I've built 3 pcs for myself and another ten for friends/family and never had a single problem except for a faulty corsair fan in like 2014. Maybe you're just unlucky or too much of a moron to handle pc hardware and play adult legos
Saving until new game or revolutionary tech comes out to go all out on my spending for it.
E.g VR MMORPG
revolutionary MMORPG
2000$ for a mid range PC is mental, i refuse
With woke and garbage games out right now, its best to wait for something good to come out to actually use it than to buy a CPU/GPU that will barely be used and obsolete when its needed the most
Haswell refresh will never be obsolete OP, why would I need to build a new computer?
Where do you even sell your PC gear if people on Ebay can complain for a refund?
I'd like to but I know I'd frick something up, that's why I always get a prebuilt
Because european prices are 120-150% of US prices and half the shit is out of stock.
pc has nothing worth playing. no actual game enjoyer gives a shit about early access scams, third worlder infested f2p trash, and shitty browser "games"
what about emulating and playing old games?
alternatively
consoles have the same issue you say pc has - shit games
I'm enjoying Escape From Tarkov. When my friends and I inevitably stop playing again I'll go back to playing console games.
>no actual game enjoyer gives a shit about early access scams, third worlder infested f2p trash, and shitty browser "games"
You consolegays sure do.
Some explaining required
His dick is huge.
The other guys are impressed in the locker room. The doctor (gay) is pleased at the sight of it. His woman wants more sex even though they just had lots of sex already.
I literally built one PC with my old parts. What can I do with a second PC aside from selling/gifting it?
back in the day the cool and trendy thing to do was to make a media server out of your spare PC. these days it's kind of pointless because you can turn just about any modern device on hand into a streaming device.
I thought about it because my MOBO is buggy as shit but parts are expensive and there's actually nothing worth playing that require me to upgrade from my 5700XT and Ryzen 3600.
I bought a prebuilt with no front fan and the temps are pretty good anons I thought you were supposed to have two at least
Why do you have pics of an Argentinian troony?
Because I can just pay someone else to do it
>7K
>don't even throw in a mouse and keyboard
Cheap fricks.
>Buying windows
>No SSD
>Paying 2k+ for a one hour assembly job
Good goyim.
an MP600 1TB is an M.2. They cost over 1k each.
Corsair MP600 8TB oops
Enjoy you're shitty assembly job done by a minimum wagie that gets even worse when it's jostled in shipping
It's fine saying that until you buy something faulty and you don't know go through each part fault find or have some spares available to double check.
what?? look up people trying to get replacements from prebuilders
>internet has horror stories of people returning faulty goods
colour me shocked sherlock
beacuse i dont want to end up breaking something. im poor damn it.
the funny thing is there's a 1000% higher chance of parts just randomly breaking down than you accidentally breaking something. putting a PC together is very easy.
it's just that PC parts, no matter how expensive, are shoddily made to save on costs and they are extremely prone to just randomly dying one day.
i can accept that if a pc is old. the last pc i had lasted ten years before it broke down one day. had a buddy build the one im using right now and it should last me just as long. if not longer.
>i5-4690k
>gtx970 died last month
i don't want to build a new pc Gankerros...
lowend gaming with integrated graphics it is
I make minimum wage and PC gaming is for exceptionally wealthy people only. A new GPU is more than double my monthly salary and that's one part.
Get a better job. There's likely a chicken plant hiring near you. You'll work harder than you ever worked before, but you'll make a lot more.
I checked and there's no chicken plants, but I have to admit I did not know that makes more than min wage. Even still PC gaming is only for rich people who make like 5k a month.
Factory jobs in general. https://jbsfoodsgroup.com/our-locations is who I work for.
Samsung Odyssey Ark 4k here.
I already work in a factory. That is min wage work.
You work at the wrong factory. There's 2 spectrums on which the pay scale is based: effort and skill. If you work either high effort or high skill jobs, the money should come.
This is an obvious lie
>just have a nice day overworking at my factory and uh maybe I'll give you a raise
>What you want a raise? You clearly aren't working hard enough, you need to put in more effort wagie you don't deserve a raise
I didn't say that. I said the harder jobs pay more.
That is also often not true, both for physically harder and mentally harder.
The problem lies in jobs in shit towns where there's one job (I worked at a plant while I was incarcerated that was in a town where that was the only job). They frick their workers because they know they're the only game in town. I live in metro Atlanta now, where jobs are for the taking. People up and quit my job all the time because it's so brutal, so it has to pay well and provide decent benefits to keep people on the payroll.
PC gaming is cheaper than it's ever been.
Or if you're really broke:
Lmao cope pchud
If you want to play games you should buy ps5
Triggered consoleBlack person.
>If you want to play games you should buy ps5
KEK
and Demon's Souls and Bloodborne games are better games than anything on PC.
C O P E
PS5 has all worthwhile pc games (but better optimized) + exclusives
pc has only pc games
>(but better optimized)
Exclusives? What exclusives LMAO
PC gaming is for gays.
I grew up on PC games requiring new graphics cards every single year because the installation wizards would frick up, moved on to shitty memes like SLI 660s, a 980ti, and finally 3070.
Just greed and trash from nvidia and everyone else. Invest in a console (I prefer Xbox) and a top of the line oled TV and you’ll have a better experience than everything expect for the highest end $2000 graphics cards.
>SLI
oh god i remember this meme. AHAHAHAHA
PCtroons are the most easily swindled group of cucks on the planet. NVIDIA has been running scams on them for decades and they keep going back for more kek
It’s so true. DLSS is the biggest frickup I’ve ever seen. It’s intended to prolong the lifespan of these GPU’s so you can upscale your shitty ports from 800p for better FPS.
Instead every single lazy dev started optimizing around DLSS so every game started running like shit without it kek. NGREEDIA consumers are literally moronic.
Yeah, DLSS pisses me off along with RTX. One of the few games that I can think of from the top of my head that's made a good noticeable change with RTX on is fricking Fortnite and Minecraft. And Neither game I'm interested in playing. For frick sake, they're trying to showcase bullshit to me like fricking Portal from 2007 like its fricking new...
AND STILL can't even achieve fricking 4K 60+ with all the bullshit on
>SLI
>gimpworks
>goysync
>RTX
Which scam am I missing?
DLSS is arguably the biggest scam of them all since it’s ruining any hope of devs making competent PC ports.
Nvidia pigs are playing at below Series S resolution with DLSS on. All So shitty devs don’t have to optimize.
4k native is quite viable at 60-120fps.
>4k native is quite viable at 60-120fps.
I wouldn't have an LG-C1 if for a moment I thought my PC couldn't output that much at that res.
>Virgin cave with switch
>NGTMI
>he drinks plastic bottled water
>Nintendo switch
>those monitors
KEK
That ultrawide monitor looks moronic
All that space and you have to be a gay
You could actually have a very fricking confy setup there. Just be a man
My brother is in the middle of making me a reclining chair from scratch, it's going right in front of the the tv.
I like the case, but why do you live in a coffin?
It's the room at the top of the house.
I moved back in with my family after selling my flat before Covid got too bad.
Yeah, that's a smart move unless you're a career professional slaying lingerie models every weekend. Shit's getting wild out there. Having a strong family unit is a good way to weather the storm. We've been doing it since apes, and extended families are the natural order of things.
With what card? Anything under $1800?
Actual gay boy attic setup. Nice herman miller you soi homo. Not even an aeron or embody kek what a b***h
Depends on what you want to play. I was stuck on a 980Ti for a while (doesn't even support upscaling), and stuff like Mass Effect, Pathfinder, and other crap ran solid 60. I'd definitely stick with xx80 or xx90 whatever you get.
What a homosexual ass non-answer. 980ti couldn’t run call of duty warzone from 5 years ago at ultra 1080p.
Maybe your gay indie shit but a 3070 can barely run PC centric titles like hell let loose at 60fps 1080p ultra.
Needless to say I won’t be buying another Ngreedia card and falling for this paypig scam
Cause I've already got one and I feel like becoming a NEET for a few months on my savings instead.
waiting on new graphics card series before i entertain the thought.
I'm waiting for the new AMD CPU lineup in febuary, then I'll make a machine that will last me another 6-8 years
So now I'll Pic relate MFW I build my pc in 2012 & I can play any game from then till 2022 (except those who only run on win10, because FRICK win10 & their shit, I fricking hate them and I'll see their children burn to death)
But there're some with win7fix (thanks fitgirl, codex) so actually happy about it
I'm not paying those israelites the current prices for GPU's.
Simple as.
Did it back in GTX1080 hayday; rebuilt it with the shittier case, but more memory and cores a few months ago.
Thinking about saving for 4090 somewhere this year after I figure my living situation.
Shame EVGA isn't around anymore.
I did. Ignore unplugged gpu
AIO front intake?? Aren't you pulling in hot air from the CPU's pipe?
Oh frick oh no, did I frick up. Ill check when im home right away
because I've built it last year
Why would you put the motheboard in the case without having the cooler already attached to the CPU?
I did rebuild my PC in a new case last summer thanks
Picture is a bit older but the only change is that I swapped the H212's stock fan for an Arctic P12
>replace MOBO and processor
>pc won't boot, not even to BIOS
>no error codes, MOBO doesn't have a built-in speaker so i can't even get any error beeps
I've ordered an external speaker so I can hopefully figure out what's wrong with
>MOBO doesn't have a built-in speaker so i can't even get any error beeps
you got it with mobo, look again through screws and bits bags
Nah, the only things I have left are screws used for a different model processor
Dunno, I put my old parts back together so I have a PC to use so can't check now, I'm gonna check tomorrow with the speaker thing
Next time you turn it on, pay attention to the board. Some lights will likely go on. They are marked for various parts. There will be one for the CPU/GPU, etc.
Fans start spinning and stuff so the GPU and processor seems to work (or at least the fans) but the screens won't turn on (HDMI no signal) and nothing boots, not even BIOS weirdly enough but yeah I'll try watching for lights tomorrow, thanks
Good luck, bro. But don't worry too hard, PC parts are surprisingly durable. In truth, it honestly just sounds like you have some of the headers connected wrong. The lights/beep will point toward which part isn't initialising and stopping bootup. Backtrack and double check everything. You'll be fine.
I was troubleshooting with my brother (he's more computer savvy but we were just facetiming so he had a hard time seeing stuff) but we tried everything, triplechecked that everything was connected, connecting HDMI straight to MOBO instead of the GPU, unplugging all non-OS drives, removing one stick of RAM at a time, trying different sockets for the RAM etc, running it entirely without RAM, nothing worked. Hopefully it's just something really really stupid that we both missed but yeah I'll see tomorrow
heh, it usually is.
What about lights? Is there a strip of LEDs on the thing lighting up when you power it? Go have a close look. They will mark what the issue is. That's what most mobos do these days. I don't have any beeping either, because I don't want, or need it.
Most new mobos, even very budget ones, come with status LEDs.
What CPU and board?
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-h610m-e-d4/
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/230494/intel-core-i513600kf-processor-24m-cache-up-to-5-10-ghz/specifications.html
Sounds like the BIOS on the board is too old, if it has flashback you can flash a newer one without having a CPU installed, if not you'll have to get an Alder Lake processor (can be anything that's on the CPU Support list with bios version of all) and flash it using that.
That said I'd return the board, it's a terrible match for an unlocked i5 - looks like a 6 + 2 (probably doubled too) VRM with no cooling, it's a firehazard.
These kinds of mobos are only really good for office PCs.
Get this (or the Bazooka, it's the same board with a different color scheme). Cheap, but still good quality.
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-DDR4
>Sounds like the BIOS on the board is too old
I'm not good with computers but I bought the thing like 1½ months ago, how can they sell shit that doesn't work?
Because it's an H610 Alder Lake mobo. You bought it right around when Raptor Lake came out, assuming it sat in a warehouse for a couple months it still has an old BIOS that doesn't detect the new processors.
Either way it's a terrible motherboard and I would urge you to replace it with at least some semi-decent B660 board.
My brother was helping me pick out the parts, I assumed he'd know about stuff like that but I guess we were too focused on finding a MOBO that would fit in my old chassi and a processor that would fit the MOBO. Unfortunately I don't think I can get my money back now but I'll ask him and look into getting a new one.
Would you rather have perfectly good motherboards be out of date every single time a new generation of CPU / Socket is released?
If you had used a site like PC part picker it would have been abundantly clear that you would need to update the bios through flashback or by using an older CPU. I believe it's in the best interest of the seller to inform the buyer of this so they can charge 10 bucks or whatever (optionally) to do it for you, but that's up to them I guess.
>no bios
- clear cmos, reseat memory, remove all memory sticks apart from 1, remove all drives and try to boot from a windows install USB stick,
check all 3x CPU power from PSU to board are connected.
Since when did CPUs need 3 power connectors? jesus
Since the thing isn't booting to make sure you stupid argumentative c**t.
Chill out dude, I'm not trying to argue anything. I'm just surprised that there are CPUs that need 3 8-pins when fairly recently I feel you'd be fine with only 1.
2x 8pins, 1 is for redundancy. the other is the large 24pin ATX.
apologies , I read it as you were trying to be clever and snarky, sorry.
>inb4 he didn't power on
>>inb4 he didn't power on
ha ha, the little PWR+ PWR- plugged into the HDD LED+ LED- on the mobo by mistake or some shit
Nah, the power was on and fans were spinning, it's probably what these anon said
Already done
I keep himming and hawwing whether to do it or not, I was thinking 5600 + 3070 & 32GB or RAM
Just finished it recently
>.uk
Building a PC might be the biggest waste of money right now. Just get a ps5.
Already did.
It's very fast.
fukin nice, anon, looks like seriously business
I've been gone through at least 3 different mobo generations in the same case I've owned since 2010
Already did
I already did recently. One of the components went faulty (after only 3 days!) and it was a mission to figure out which part because the computer would *occasionally* be able to turn on and I didn't have old parts to swap out and test with. Part of the devil's advocate in me says that I would have been better off with a pre-tested + full warranty pre-built. I'm better off now financially, but you have to account for the time and stress I went through trying to get it to work / figure out what was wrong with it, plus the process of RMA is a bit different in my country. It's hard to put a price on those things.
Way ahead of you.
Yeah she's got a 3600 with a 1060 in'er, not OC'd'er nuthin.
*spit*
Linux too, I roll my own, goddamnit. I don't need no big money business telling me what to do.
Well dam son, I reckoned you might wanna upgrade to that there amd 6700 series for better compatibility and whatnot.
I already feel like the oldtimer redneck around my consolegay friends. I can't imagine what it will be like when I'm 50.
You own ALL the weird tools they need and they have to put up with you if they want to use them. In this case, SCSI cables, floppy drives, SD readers, ide hookups, recovery software and all the spare parts in case something fries.
Because I already built one six months ago.
I'm Waiting™ for 7000x3d parts
are AIOs worth it or should I just go for a fan brick?
They're only really worth it for the most power hungry and hot CPUs, like the 13700k and up, and you really want 360mm ones to consistently do better than the best air coolers.
>worth it for the most power h
I hit 91c with a 13900 and 420mm AIO, that's with the locked power, If I unlock it hits 100c and thermal throttles.
I feel you
These chips are "designed" to run like this though and intel has "assured" everyone that its perfectly safe and normal for this to happen. I really fricking hate that thought process though and dont trust this shit at all. Id either skip this generation entirely or get AMD since its eco mode works well apparently.
To be fair it only runs like this in Cinebench and Blender.
I've got an AIO on my threadripper and it's running at 30C right now. Highest I've ever seen it get is around 37C.
Had to RMA the board from my new Intel PC. This older one is fine, but I wanted to put the parts in my aging server.
I’m unironically building my new pc later today.
Let’s hope the cable management in this thing isn’t as bad as some reviewers claim
Is that the OG Torrent or Compact?
The big one is ok, was a bit harder than in the Define series but not a problem.
I bought the compact model. But I’ll be using a sfx psu so I don’t have full size cables to begin with
It's going to be rough, even the Define is tighter than 小学生のpussy.
Can't afford it yet. I play that PC building sim game, does that count?
KINO
I almost bought that one but I played it safe and went with something else
Because I built it three weeks ago.
>arctic garbage
Did it in 2020
GPUs.
is 3070 ti enough for an ultrawide 1080p?
For most games, yeah. Barring something extremely demanding.
Yes; it'll crush everything at 1080p
already built it with my neetbux, shits comfy. the RTX 4090 isn't too bad.
I'm comfortable now in my new place that I'll unbox the parts tomorrow. It'll be my first build, hopefully all will go well.
Waste of time money and effort. Can't be bothered to be apart of the super secret social credit club in order to mod my games or find people to play with. I was a hard core dorito munching pc gaymer long before I ever touched a console but the truth is at 38 I just no longer care
Captcha: GGGGTA

I already built one

I don't need a new PC what I need is some fricking free time to actually play video games
why did you start building before having all the part?
anmd i have already built a PC
