yeah in Pathfinder fighters can do any 1 of 100 useless combat maneuvers like "grapple" to tie up a single enemy. meanwhile WIZARDS can do webm rel.

Pathfinder 2 had some of the strongest version of fight I have ever played. I think it was test content before official release, so it might have been nerfed, but it was still really strong.
You could hogtie someone each round for a free action and then throat punch another and crit half the time for massive damage, or just get a big frick off sword destroy everything because fighters were crit machines and also shove them for free with it. Fighters just had a ton of free crowd control in that version.

          >maybe they were nerfed
Having played release PF2e, fighters are absolute monsters and put all other martials and even most casters to shame, and even then casters can only compete in utility and even then magic has been nerfed to hell and back so only kind of and even then, rituals can be cast by anyone now, they are only skill checks, so being a magic class by itself doesn't even make you better at it.

Name 3 tabletop rpgs where fighters are more interesting than magic users

I'll chip in and say PF2e fighter is more interesting/fun.
A 4e fighter is lots of fun. They aren't "more" interesting than a magic user, but they are just as interesting.

homosexual, of course casters are an objectively superior class choice with more combat options than martials. This is the entire reason why this problem is still being discussed. Soicucks like you think having a lot of options and powers to use is exclusive to casters when in fact it should be the default state for everyone. Fighters are horribly designed and this is sadly rooted in the tradition of D&D. Media literacy morons like the ones over on Critical Cuckold will defend caster supremacy because surprise surprise, they are still nerds at heart and they want to see actual masculine men suffer.

Not the first anon, I haven't played D&D even though I've looked into it because I prefer martials and the setting caps their potential very hard. From what little I gleaned of the lore, high level casters can destroy mountains, warp reality, raise armies of undead etc while physical damage classes cap out at... cleaving through armor maybe? Seems kinda lame that they don't also keep growing until it's to the point where a caster might be able to chuck a mountain but a martial could cleave it in two.

          Anonymous

This is just my autism speaking by I kinda like the idea of even a martial character being able to pursue apotheosis through their own means instead of being reliant on borrowed power. I guess most casters are beholden to some sort of patron deity but wizards can just study and grind to wield a power all their own no?

oh you wanted martials to do more? we had a tool for that it was called MAGIC ITEMS

It also matters quite a bit because wizards will just function this way out of the box, while a martial will be completely dependent on the whims of the DM / how the campaign and themes are setup.

      This, but unironically.
Casters could have thousands of spells in theory, but in the reality of most games it all boils down to
      >deal damage
      >take less damage or heal so you can deal more damage
Fricking Skyrim for example had the most uninspiring magic system I've ever seen. 05 (five) schools of magic, but they all only do one of the aforementioned
      >Destruction: deals damage
      >Enchantment: enchants stuff to do damage
      >Alteration: takes less damage in order to survive and deal more damage
      >Restoration: heals damage taken to keep dealing damage
      >Conjuration: summons stuff that deal damage
      >Illusion: is useless

We could have mages do some cool Ars Magica style stuff instead of being mobile sentries, like levitating, leaping really high, teleporting through walls, seeing through walls, unlocking doors and chests, summon a horny succubus and pimp her for money, etc.
But it seems like those things are exclusive to old vidya and tabletops now.

Illusions don't even distract enemies for part of their turn. They just look at it (no movement) and it is destroyed by the power of using their eyes or whatever.
0 actions taken on their part to do so, then they turn back to hitting my stupid homosexual wizard instead.

The enemy noticing you doesn't end illusions in skyrim
You can calm every motherfricker and do whatever you want to them
If someone is closer to them than you they will always attack that target when you rage them even if they see you
The skill levels up really fast, getting silent casting is easy and applies to all the spells not just illusion. The problem you mentioned goes away permanently at that point no skill issues at all.

Fighters represent the beginner playstyle relying on healing items and tanking damage, the rogue and ranger type DPS represents a more risky playstyle with more damage and less defense, and the mage/wizard represents an advanced difficulty by trading lower health and defense for even greater damage, proving to that you have mastered all combat capabilities and no longer need to rely on defense or healing, or it would work that way if enemies didn't just run towards you and attack, making strategy useless.

warriors are better earlier and scale with equipment far better
in earlier d&d fighters were supposed to command groups, armies and regiments of other lower level fighters based on their level
obviously this is difficult to implement in small scale scenarios and too complex for morons so it just became "hit thing with sword harder" which is why they fell behind casters in general and they simply increased the hit with sword harder slider until they're practically on par with casters

because whenever fighters have tons of options everyone throws a fit. for some examples off the top of my head

    >later souls games, where casters couldn't just one shot everything from a mile away anymore and the enemies actually got close where melee characters could get some benefit and everyone shits on them for being rollslop because how dare a wizard player put any points into defensive stats instead of minmaxing int
