I'm sad that the only Nioh discussion revolves around 2 and not 1. Nioh has by far the better fanbase and community, but no one likes Nioh 1 anymore.

Sekiro has the problem of being grouped together with 7 other games so when you talk about Sekiro it immediately becomes kingscoresoulsbornekiroring and the discussion get padded out with allusions to other off-topic games. I do not care about fromslop. I like Sekiro, because of tenchu fanboyism. Simple as.

Sekiro feels good to play is perfectly designed and paced, for what it is. Nioh 2 has more complexity but its flimsy and unsatisfying to play, and it lacks good level design and combat encounters. That's why I don't like Nioh.

Yeah I played Nioh 1 years ago and enjoyed it enough to beat it despite the flaws you mentioned, then after all the bait getting thrown around in threads just like this I finally caved and bought Nioh 2 to see if all the praise was warranted and I honestly prefer the first one.

You're fricking braindead, the jump and the attacks are delayed, the only thing that feels good is the parry

I like sekiro the least because there isn't any character customization or builds, I like nioh 2 the most because it has the most character customization and builds ( you can literally create a build tailored around a specific move). The learning curve is a bit steep if you are not dedicated. And later on, when you have a strong build, you just melt enemies and it becomes piss easy. That's why I usually start over a save to get that feel.

man, this thread really does seem to line up with the idea that there's this 'polarity' to people and we can't love both games here, it's very strange hearing such harshly conflicting opinions presented with such genuineness

I generally love From's games, but Sekiro's lack of customization made me not touch it, I adore Nioh 2, it feels like it took everything from the first and improved upon it, and the character creator was fantastic

I lost interest in Nioh 2 after a week, too much bloated RPG stuff and the contracts are repetitive
I'm tired of RPG mechanics man just let me bonk increasingly harder but well balanced enemies with a sword, I don't want to worry about my lv and my gear and whether they're at a sufficient lv to beat a boss

Please tell me they got rid of the "Diablo" loot system in Nioh 2
It's just fricking annoying picking up over a hundred useless items per level then having to sort through them to find the 1-2 good ones when selling/dismantling

      >dismantle
      >press the select all button
      >revel in mats you're not gonna use for another 30 hours yet
You interact with the loot system so little on the first run which, let's face it, is the only run you're going to do. Beyond that gets too difficult for you if you're really pulling your hair out over little blue numbers.

they never made it any easier this game's QoL for shitty item management is actually really high. The only thing that's REALLY criminal is trying to get a -1 set bonus requirement accessory with your desired grace on it.

theyre both good games, sekiro has a lot more direct "question/answer" gameplay where the enemy will do a thing and you as the player must respond with the correct answer, and it can end up being really fluid once you know what all the questions are and have all the answers available to respond with, nioh has a lot more systems going on and feels a lot more like trying to mesh 2 gears together, it might be tough if its off center or out of time or if they arent really a good fit for one another, but once you know how to change your gear you can set it up to mesh with any other gear in the game and have fun in any encounter or fighting any enemy cause you have a shitzillion things you can actively do as a player and recovery times are near nonexistent.

just enjoy both games for what they offer
