I gotta say, at the distance from the screen one sees it, which resembles a lot more the thumbnail than the enlarged image, there is nott much of a difference.
And filters exist, which is in my opinion, best of both worlds.

I am looking at all these images on an LCD display and they look great, so why do I need a CRT for this anymore?
Resolutions and refresh rates are high enough now that you can get the same picture quality, the fact these comparison shots are being viewed at by people on LCD screens (and you don't need a CRT display of your own to view the differences), only proves that these visual differences are achievably on an LCD display to begin with, filters have gotten great at it now, it's no longer a problem.

You're right, for gaming - when we define gaming as 'looking at small images of women's faces that were made for CRT screens' - CRTs definitely win out. I can't imagine doing literally anything else in the gaming sphere that ISN'T looking at these two images on a CRT TV.

That's why I am waiting for OLED/QLED/QNED/AMOLED/miniled/microled/fuckled to become the new standard for monitors. I do not fucking understand why they're withholding this shit for TVs and phones only.
Yes, there may be some burn-in issues, but the Switch OLED tests show that they can be almost fully mitigated with a quality screen, and the newer technologies like microled should forgo this entirely.
I want a new monitor so bad, but I am not willing to shill out dosh for 69K/420fps if it still uses an obsolete panel that should've been discarded at least fucking 10 years ago.

CRT is imprecise because it had a resolution-enhancing effect via blur. That's what these images demonstrate. That isn't superiority.

You can't really represent the superiority of CRTs in still images, because their greatest benefits were in motion resolution. A beam moving at 31khz is obviously going to be a lot better than sample and hold garbage that struggles to push 500hz.

That's not entirely the argument, the older technology does not exist anymore, and therefore old games are stuck always looking bad now. Though I do kinda think a lot of "HD era" games do kinda look worse than the PS2 games I can play on my old, barely functional CRT in some ways, as the display technology no longer hides the little errors with the visuals, the end result being environments that somehow feel "faker".

Wrong. It's because modern games are made with the knowledge that modern technology won't muddy their creations to the point crt does. So they just make sharp looking games instead of having to make blocky pixel art so that the shitty catothes make it seem like the image has any sharpness

Any set of shaders or filters meant to mimic a CRT just arent ideal on a 1080p display, there's not enough pixel density there to fully capture the original look without an extremely visible screen door effect.

RGB/Component CRT looks the same as my TN LCD. Input lag is also the same with freesync on the lcd and switchres on the crt.
The real difference appears with older composite cables. All games from the first gen all the way to the N64 looks different on composite, and you can tell that some art in games were made with that look in mind. The only exception where it looks off is with arcade and portable games that usually had very sharp screens and lcds.

CRTs became heavy as FUCK the bigger they went; consider the size of monitors today, and realize how heavy a CRT would be at such a size.
CRT's light output dulls over time and they turn dim and brown.

Because despite the technology being superior, the package is shit. An equivalent size CRT takes up like 5-6times as much space as an equivalent screen size LCD while weighing like 10x more. Production was also expensive and unsafe.
Consumers, manufacturers, sellers and retailers all ended up preferring LCDs for their lower cost and improved convenience.
