      This
They haven't made a decent product since Google itself.
They see products as nothing more than cash cows that should start paying off immediately. If they don't then they axe it without letting it mature.

I actually played on Stadia a couple times. It was technically fine, not perfect and I can't imagine playing an FPS on it, but playable.
The reason why it failed is that it offered nothing of worth compared to normal platforms and its marketing was shit. Its failure is a win for the consumers, though, who will enjoy some semblance of ownership over video games they buy for another couple years.

it only launched in 5 countries or so

They launched it in more countries later, but by that time it was all but dead.

It will be interesting to see who will be the next one to try to bait normalgays into streaming games and how, only Microsoft could possibly have more than enough money to waste shilling this crap next

because latency is a thing and you can't get playable vidya via video feed.
Sometimes you can get playable multiplayer game even with vidya installed on your PC.

Didn't you need to buy games separately on top of the subscription? I also remember hearing about some publishers pulling their games from Stadia too, so I can't remember. Either way, nobody asked for it to exist.

Genius business model where you both buy games and have to pay a subscription if you want them to not look like ass, with no option to download the games for offline play you know, in case they decide to kill the service
Went after the highly lucrative market of people with good internet but no console or PC.
And latency, though it was probably not as big of reason for stadia's failure as some people here make it out to be.

Oldgay here, why did this "stay safe" thing spread? because of the pandemic? It bothers me a lot. The person obviously doesn't care about sour safety and it implies the outside world is somehow not safe by default.

Imagine you're too poor to throw 500 yuro to a playstation every 8 years but somehow you have a stellar internet connection plus money to buy games you will never own for real.

It failed because Nvidia and Microsoft offer a better service.
