honestly, this. I've played very few outside of FFT that were worth it. OpenXCOM and FFT for life now. Maybe Vandal Hearts, too, although I got bored and didn't finish it.

But why does WoW:Shadowlands have lower metascore than XIV and Diablo 2 Rez has lower metascore than Tales of Arise(for Bamco is notorious for Kusoge)? Is Blizzard even worse than Japs? When did Blizzard became Ooga booga company from the glorious AAA?

Because its a shitty remake, original game is still better than most, if not every jap rpg

Is there a SRPG with a lot of depth and variety? Where only strategy matters and you can't win via brute force grinding.

      >Is there a SRPG with a lot of depth and variety? Where only strategy matters and you can't win via brute force grinding.
no and that's one of the big reasons why the genre kind of died off. you had turn-based games like advance wars that require actual strategy but those aren't really RPGs. the very nature of them being RPGs almost always results in you having 1 or 2 characters who can brute force your way through any strategic frick-ups. the newest fire emblem and the entire disgaea series are examples of this. even the super-hard bosses in disgaea aren't about strategy, they're just about grinding for endless hours.

cause their turn-based combat is outdated, boring waste of time
you need fresh engaging combat systems

And Blizzard gets BTFO'd by FFXIV and Tales of Arise. For having lower metascore than these 2. Are these 2 made by Foreign support?
