Why did they remove Torrent from this fight?

They knew the majority of people were just going to use summons anyway.

I bet something was bugging out the fight and they just said fuck it and removed it.

i can honestly believe at this point they would let you use torrent especially if it bugged the fight. there must be some other reason

you'd realize the final boss is a joke when he isn't constantly swimming and flying out of range

Torrent is actually a part of Melina, and Melina is forbidden from entering the Erdtree.

So write it so Torrent is not part of Melina and just sone dumbass magic horse? Seems like a pretty easy fix for me

It's an absolute meme that you were supposed to use Torrent. It's a spectacle fight, you don't get a horse to get closer to the Divine Dragon in Sekiro either

I don't understand what you're trying to say. You don't have a horse in Sekiro, period. You can still use the grappling hook to close in on the dragon.

        >You don't have a horse in Sekiro, period
Exactly my point, no one complained about needing a horse there
        >You can still use the grappling hook to close in on the dragon.
No, you use it to damage the dragon, you still have to run most of the way yourself when you get blown back

      >It's a spectacle fight
So is Radahn, and they let you use a horse in that one.

The Beast has numerous mechanics that only function effectively gameplay-wise if the player is on foot. This includes his signature overhead title-card arc attack. Its melee and spells are designed for a player to close the gap gradually, thus overcoming some degree of challenge to be rewarded with an opportunity to attack (which is a generous attack window, regardless of your shitter tears). Torrent would devalued more or less every mechanical aspect of the fight to the point of utter triviality.

fight with Gwynn is infinitely better because you can parry him so Torrent making the fight into a high speed chase instead of slow paced slog would be fine

Why don't you just summon if the fight is too hard for you and you just wanna skip it?

          Anonymous

It's not about skipping the fight, it's about making it more engaging for the player
if the summons make it so easy, and torrent would too, why aren't they both an option?
you can be an autist and choose to fight it on foot just like you can choose not to summon

It's a FromSoft game, so the answer is as always within the lore.

did they not playtest the whole ending? it's impossible to not feel burned out by the end of it, what a mess
i think even most "no summons" players tuned out and ended up summoning just to get it over with

Faith builds have the most damage diversity in the game on top of the percentage based damage weapons and spells, any troubles you face are only a result of stubbornness.

Did anyone else have depth perception issues with this thing? I swear he'd look a hundred meters away but after ten seconds of running it'd turn out he's right in front of me.

The boss who desperately needed to be fleshed out more was Godfrey. The original Elden Lord just shows up out of nowhere, nobody mentioned he was just wandering around the Lands Between until right at that moment.

You interact with every other character mentioned in that introduction as an NPC and they have a full questline except for Godfrey, yet Godfrey is by far the most significant in terms of the story.

So you meet Godfrey for the first time in that bossfight. Why did you start pissing and shitting about how he comes out of nowhere? Why didn't you cry for over a year about how Gideon is at the Roundtable out of nowhere when you first arrive there? It's the first time you meet him, and according to you, meeting an NPC for the first time means it came out of nowhere
