The game is finished, the franchise is done. It is all never coming back again to be as great as it once was. I've moved on. Frick Halo and especially frick 343.
You apologists are something else. Shills is my first guess. They have been given chance after chance and they never succeeded with Halo. I don't care what they say or do next they won't ever do anything great.

This. 343 has dropped the ball since they picked it up. There is literally no reason to trust these guys in making a solid experience when it took literally years for MCC to be fixed. All 343 have showed at every game is that they're incompitent yes men that do as MS says. Anyone that still believes in 343 are shills, no doubt in my mind.
try finding matches at 4am in the morning on a weekday. I have a late night shift, sometimes it's just completely dead for ranked matchmaking. I know that's a very specific window but more players would solve that.
Only good for the campaign, MP sucks ass. Many people already grew up playing halo at its best, and this game does nothing new for anyone who hasn't already played a halo game.
If I wanted to play a Far Cry game, which I don't, I'd play a Far Cry game. The plot wont do anything for me because I have already digested all the themes from prior games. All they can do is bring it out of the metaphorical and stack even more ancient evils on top of each other like they did with Warcraft. That or devolve into side stories staring Literally Who.
It's fun but the desync and lackluster map selection kills it for me. Streets is okay and recharge Is the best map tbh, everything else is just meh or shit (I'm looking at you bahemoth and bazaar). Nothing feels worse than hitreg cucking you in a melee battle or getting shot around corners. Equipment is cool but there never feels like there's pickups in the map. The br is too strong, like a troony monkey can use the damn thing it's too easy. The commando actually feels fun to use and has outplay/punishment potential, unlike the br where if you miss a shot you're actually mentally challenged. Overall I can't say I hate it, but there's a lot I dislike about it. Also big team vehicle spawning is fricking dumb
>extremely small map/mode selection >4v4 maps were all completely unremarkable at best >BTB maps were complete and utter dogshit that completely butchered vehicle gameplay >extremely low TTK for a Halo game >severely reduced cosmetic customisation and being charged through the nose for all of it felt like a slap in the face >no Elites
Didn't bother with the campaign.
- Writing sucks ass. 5 ignores everything in 4 and Infinite ignores everything in 5. Which would be ok except the new material is still terrible. I know the 500 million budget thing is BS because 343i can't afford to pay Blur for fancy action packed cutscenes anymore, it's all static in-game garbage of the characters standing around and talking.
- Open world was fricking pointless, and the level design is objectively worse than single missions. CE not only has better levels (most Infinite levels play like the worst of CE, like Library or the copy pasted Forerunner rooms parts of Assault on the Control Room) but more aesthetic variety.
- Bait and switch on returning to Bungie armor designs. There's Chief and all their early renders was their best stuff. Most of the helmets look fricking awful (and very inconsistently sized). They've pumped the game with tacky garbage and "alternate universe" designs that look nothing like Halo before we've even gotten the classic stuff. Also coatings, which they tried to present as a good thing.
- Maps suck ass. Sandbox sucks ass as well, don't believe people who say it's good. Vehicles have been ruined, reticles lie, random+very uneven spawns, no sniper ricochet (but ridiculous scope blind).
- Theater and Customs are broken. No fileshare, no lobbies, no one talks.
They had a nice, fleshed out roster of banished enemies of various sizes and types. They obviously borrowed some of the unit variety from Halo Wars 2 and yet the only friendly AI we encounter are Marines.
Single player was really uneven. It was genuinely fun to explore, but the mission design and story were really bad.
Multiplayer, similarly, has good gameplay, but a total paucity of content and the progression/battle pass is without question the worst ever put in a videogame. It gets to the point where it actually gets in the way of enjoyment.
The game is a shame though, there's a lot about it that is really well done so there's a lot of potential, but there was also a ton of issues holding it back. I'd be excited to hop back on if the leadership changes steer the boat around
>I'd be excited to hop back on if the leadership changes steer the boat around
Same. It was fun for a couple week but then I dropped it and never looked back.
it was very lacklustre, there were some good ideas that were poorly implemented. i dont normally like open world but thought it worked with halo, i just wish they did it better
because it was bad. the campaign was bad because they ditched actual maps/levels for the open world meme. I was actually willing to give it the benefit of the doubt but the world is bland as frick with barely anything going on in it, and not much challenge even on legendary
the multiplayer is a joke that's mostly inhibited by bad maps, although I don't love the weapon sandbox either. the whole thing feels off somehow and BTB isn't as fun as in previous games.
>and BTB isn't as fun as in previous games
It's because all the BTB maps are made of narrow lanes that funnel everyone into head-on chokepoint fights and severely restricts vehicles' mobility.
Great the first 20hours then it’s redundant, most of the cosmetic stuff can’t be obtained and new modes sucks ass. Also, two seasons per year is laughable when Indy titles does more
This is the only normal tolerable multiplayer game out right now. Everything else has some gay ass movement shit or some other bullshit you have to deal with. This is a simple arena space marine shooter with power weapons and power ups. No constant changing or adding of guns, no dumbass battle royal horseshit, keep it simple stupid. I enjoy pretty much every match of this game I play. I turn the game on and I throw grenades at space marines. 8/10. The shop is completely fricked though.
No Forge + No server browser is the biggest issue with a no-content launch. Those two things would hold over players who enjoy the base gameplay a lot since they can make good shit unlike 343.
343 homosexuals will never learn, but I hope someday someone there realizes you should never balance your game for Esports. Especially because its easier to just modify the base mode into a comp mode and not vice versa. Theyll never nerf aim assist but the sens settings for PC are dog shit to make it worse.
Overall 343 should get the wall, so should the microsoft employees sending and army of pajeet contractors to make their multi million dollar engine (it doesnt work)
Love halo, still play Shitfinite, but Ill keep grinding MCC to 100% and praying this game becomes half decent in a years time.
I did not hate it
I do not like 343 and the campaign was just...okay. Nothing really stood out for me, whether story or gameplay (I ain't that well-versed in Halo lore though)
Multiplayer was actually enjoyable, but I got tired of stragne desync issues and people meleeing me in the front getting an instant backstab. Not many new maps and/or weapons, updates and whatnot also didn't help that much
"Hate" is an exagarrated word, but this is Ganker, so what the hell am I expecting
..it was just alright. nothing more or less
>lack of Banished cohesion (all enemies random covenant colours)
It's going to get even dumber when Arbiter & friends show up. 343's dumb Swords of Sanghelios have red and white armour, which means you'll have friendly Elites running around wearing Banished colours while the Banished Elites are using the Covenant colour-coding that the friendly Elites should be using.
probably has the best feeling shooting of any halo game
that being said the myriad of issues at launch like the poor netcode and complete lack of regular updates really killed it
been like a year and only just now is it getting any sort of content
might come back to it but honestly idk
hey guys lets make the same copy+paste open world that every other open world has done already but worse but also let's frick up the multiplayer and have no splitscreen awful queues and divide up the playerbase with a continuation of the WORST rank and leveling system ever devised
haha as a joke
It's another entry in one dullest franchises in the history of FPS franchises. Seriously each episode following the space marine and his pals from the UNSC as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the slow gameplay, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of mechanics, all to make movement molasses, to make bullets seem magnetic.
Perhaps the die was cast when Bungie vetoed the idea of Apple funding the series; they made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for directx. The Halo series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Perfect Dark series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to with 343i.
>a-at least the single player was good though
"No!"
The level design is dreadful; the single player was terrible. As I played, I noticed that every time I went for a walk, the designer instead put an un-involved corridor in my path.
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time a corridor was encountered. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Bungie's mind is so governed by cliches and flat topography that they have no other style of gameplay. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Halo by the same Jason West. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are playing Halo at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to play Call of Duty." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you play "Halo” you are, in fact, trained to play Call of Duty.
"I wanted to make a party game with shooter mechanics...I really wanted it to be as simple as possible, I wanted it to be as accessible as possible"
-Hardy LeBel, lead designer of halo CE
I don't. I just wish more people played it so it would be easier to find matches late at night.
What is wrong here anon? Its only a year old. You mean to tell me its so bad that people abandoned it within a year?
It's just quiet before the next update drops forge, online co-op and a new free battle pass.
The game is finished, the franchise is done. It is all never coming back again to be as great as it once was. I've moved on. Frick Halo and especially frick 343.
343 leadership changed. Halo is not going anywhere, but you're free to do as you wish.
You apologists are something else. Shills is my first guess. They have been given chance after chance and they never succeeded with Halo. I don't care what they say or do next they won't ever do anything great.

I find games instantly
Forerunners are human

It's great, casuals always demand 30 new maps every 2 months or else their short attention spans get bored.
It's great but the maps and game modes don't go that well together. And 90% of the players don't understand BTB objective based matches at all.
I think they work fine and yeah BTB players are like 75% console causals who just frick around.
I like the campaign, pretty fun
But I don't like MP... but I don´t like any MP in general so whatever
Only good for the campaign, MP sucks ass. Many people already grew up playing halo at its best, and this game does nothing new for anyone who hasn't already played a halo game.
The carelessness of the operating team makes me feel betrayed. I miss halo 3 2007 bros.
lol you're a manbaby
I don't even play videogames
corbana update me I need to join americas army
i hate 343
Hate it? I didn't even play it.
If I wanted to play a Far Cry game, which I don't, I'd play a Far Cry game. The plot wont do anything for me because I have already digested all the themes from prior games. Campaign was actually quite good for 343 trash. It utterly mogs the MW22 campaign to shambles
it felt, looked, and played like a mobile game
I hate 343 but that’s a totally unfair criticism. The campaign doesn’t play like a mobile game. Meanwhile COD mw22 has a literal mobile game UI
It's fun but the desync and lackluster map selection kills it for me. Streets is okay and recharge Is the best map tbh, everything else is just meh or shit (I'm looking at you bahemoth and bazaar). it has desync in ranked
literally unplayable
never had a single problem on halo 3 on xbox unless I had 300 ping
Halo has been dead since 2012.
This is just a bad impersonator of better Halo games
Because the campaign felt like what's left after you beat all the main missions in a normal open world game.
not my halo
>map made for the competitive shitters
>gets removed from the game
>made for the competitive shitters
What? That would have been an 8v8 map in any other game.
Yes, that map was made for the 4v4 mlg shitters, said shitters then complained that it played like shit.
Yeah, it had everything a competitive 4v4 player could want. Like a banshee and warthog.
no hate, just bored after an hour
>bad menu design
>soulless art style
>no classes or unlock system
I don't hate it, I just don't play console ports on PC.
I don't hate it, I just play other games now.

AAA game released in the last 10 years

Is it worth playing for the campaign? What I've seen looks fun but I hear it's a slog from some people.
no
grappling hook is pretty fun, fun mode is LASO with tank gun. Just never drop the gun or anythng
It's really boring tbh. If you want a similar experience but more well rounded, just go play any far cry game
no content, shitty progression, b*ttlepass, 10$ for a recolor
probably has the best feeling shooting of any halo game
that being said the myriad of issues at launch like the poor netcode and complete lack of regular updates really killed it
