ps exclusive+ not on switch
I loved it.
One of the greatest video games of all time.
bro it came out on PC already 3 years ago.
False flagging too hard.
You can play the game for SEVERAL WEEKS and not see a single cutscene.
>You can play the game for SEVERAL WEEKS and not see a single cutscene.
Huh? Did you just slam Escape or some shit in every cutscene, then claim that there are none?
It literally STARTS with a cutscene for about 15 minutes and once you arrive at the first base thing, there's another small cutscene. Sure, the other guy exaggerated hard but the first few hours are at least 25% cutscene.
And well.. the gameplay is holding the Forward button for ten minutes until something gets in the way, at times. But a lot of games have that problem so I'll let it slide
>I loved it.
>One of the greatest video games of all time.
Because of how pretentious kojima can be. Want to listen to spotify while delivering packages? well, you can't, game blocks spotify in the ps4 just for you to listen shitty indie songs that no one likes. Fuck kojima i hope he dies on an airplane crash.
>game blocks spotify in the ps4
do consolecucks really
wut?
>"""play""" for 3 hours
>15 minutes of """gameplay"""
no thanks
>he got filtered by the front loaded cutscene intro
literally just get out of the tutorial and you'll get uninterrupted gameplay for like 60 hours
I literally fell asleep on the couch, controller in hand, after 40 minutes of "playtime", 35 of which were pretentious cutscenes.
I got bored after 250 hours
But I did because I'm not a burger.
I enjoyed my time with it. It was a unique experience and that is seldom in gaming nowadays
I loved it and am excited for DS2. I hope Mads comes back.
>7 different asian women have asked Mads to strangle them for a photo at minimum
How does he do it?
i wish the mountain climbing, snow, and heat management had been more involved. you only have to contend with vog a few times, and raiding the mules to get supplies for roads got a bit old. i didn't like that the game constantly intervened to fully stop your vehicle and blink the lights when a bt is around. overall, i liked the game a lot it just had some tedious and underwhelming bits. i'm cautiously optimistic about ds2 but its probably like 3 years away and by then i probably won't care anymore. games are announced too early.
I LOVED IT
this is still the best vidya acting ive ever seen. and from probably everyone's least favorite character as well.
>so much volumetric fog you can't make out things >100 meters away
bravo kojima
Have you never hiked in the mountains? This is a pretty common sight.
>expecting NEET zoomies to have even stepped outside their house in years
>overbearing
the story stuff's very front- and end-loaded. Between them, however, it's very easy to spend a good 80-100 hours just delivering and building shit. The story is very secondary aspect.
no, I can barely walk uphill thanks to the American diet.
How about you fix it then you fucking whale
If it was just a comfy atmospheric sci-fi delivery sim I would like it way more. The shitty overbearing story with all the ROPES, STRANDS, CLIFFS etc etc soured the experience.
Haven't played it but it looks boring.
it's a movie game except the movie parts are atrocious
I did. I just wish the story wasn't completely retarded and the gameplay had actual challenge and nuance to it. If he can fix at least the gameplay (which I doubt he will) DS2 will be one of the best games ever made.
I loved it. It was amazing. Im still playing even after beating it twice, first on gamepass then Director's Cut. Can't wait for DS2 but I'm gonna be pissed if it's a timed PS exclusive again.
>I'm gonna be pissed if it's a timed PS exclusive again
Get ready to be mad
It's a poorly paced "2deep4you" cringe story with some of the most bizarre gameplay ever. Some of which is just bad, like the BT sections being a chore or the vehicle physics being ass. The whole connecting players together was interesting but poorly executed, the environment is cluttered with signs and shit and looks like some generic modded sandbox.
I liked it
It was made too hook in normalfag mutts that are from USA or similar americanized subhumans like canadians and western euros.
And the cut scenes were longer than gameplay with that holywood capeshit movie gayry.
And when you make it to the game to play it your reward is carrying shit around and a body. Sprinkled in is Japanese black goo and toddler tier hentai level philosophy.
It's like the worst of both worlds.
Squared.
Aimed at USA mutt culturally.
Worst elements of Japanese game making.
Worst shit from movies. Worst shit from games.
What the fuck did I just read?
i fuckin loved death stranding, cant wait for the sequel
Because it's the most up his own ass Kojima has ever been.
its MGS4 with worse gameplay and without that sweet sweet barrier of entry that Ganker loves, it doesn't surprize me most anons dislike ir
It was great
I dont play games with blacks in them
I dont play walking sims
if you made a stupid openrworldslop delivery game then at least add fun movement to it, but no
The survival horror was boring. I just wanted to deliver stuff and I was constantly interrupted by annoying shit.
I loved death stranding though even if some of the cutscenes were a bit much. I don't think it needed a sequel but I'm interested to see where they take it.
i just got bored about half way through and watched the rest on garden gnometube
it had some cool ideas, the whole community building shit was neat but in got old after a while
Kojima bullshit story aside, I was excited with the idea of playing delivery simulator in a post apocalyptic setting, kind of like the truck simulators. It had the potential to be comfy and I could see myself building the roads and connecting everything. But the obnoxious fucking BTs ruined it for me, and they get even more obnoxious in the later stages and after beating the game. I'm not going fucking stop every 5 minutes in order to spend 15 minutes clearing BTs fuck that
I don’t get the bt problem. Crouch walk where you want to go, throw a blood grenade, keep moving. Easy.
Do you think doing this for 100 hours is fun? And do you think getting out of bike/truck when carrying 500 kg of cargo JUST to clear BTs is fun? And do you think clearing a path, then delivering the package, then going back the same path as they appear AGAIN, fun?
It was mostly fun, yes. The BTs are really easy, dude. Kinda sorta maybe seems you got a little bit filtered
you get a gun like 5 hours in, you can also just let the BT catch you and run from/kill the big monster to despawn the BT zone, they're a complete non-issue once you get jump jets and speed frame
Just sprint through like a boss
People actually got filtered by BT's? How? They literally can't touch you on roads or ziplines and once you get the cord cutting cuff they are easy as fuck to deal with on foot.
what environment is DS inspired by? I want to ride those mountains. I crave it. I must tackle those cliffs.
Stopped playing when DIEHARDMAN appeared. Little hack actually thought it was cool and hardcore name
I thought it was alright, they should have added some actual multiplayer stuff like co-op and invasions though, it was a bit dull without it. Hope the next one goes all out on features.
the directors cut runs like shit on my pc because its a console port and i didn't know that until after i bought it. i74790k and 970 run the OG at a crisp 60fps 1080p. directors cut cutscenes i was dropping to 35. made me really sad actually.
It's a weird game, it doesn't even use many resources but doesn't run well. I think it has to do with DX12. I ended up playing on 30 FPS because at least it's stable, cutscenes were very jarring otherwise
it was kino
It’s a movie game, but it isn’t even a good movie.
It was in a literal sense that the cutscenes lasted hours on end, but not in the sense where it's just 'press A to play the game'
Kojima invented the “movie game” genre and is still the best at it.
i did, it was my favorite game of 2021
is it worth playing if Ganker intentionally spoiled the twists and ending??
why does everybody on this site have to be such a piece of shit? they fucking hate video games..
It's a great game. Ignore the haters.
that wasn't my question, but yeah I'm definitely going toplay it at some point.
I just wish people here (who don't even play video games) didn't go out of their way to spoil story-centric games constantly.
you hopefully learned your lesson, never go into threads of games you haven't completed especially divisive ones like this
t. managed to avoid nier automata story spoilers for 3 years
The ending doesn’t matter at all. The good feeling comes from doing the deliveries.
yes it is worth playing. the story makes so little sense that it is impossible to spoil too much
>why does everybody on this site have to be such a piece of shit
They are physically ugly on the outside and from there it gets worse
found another retard that got filtered
I did three playthroughs and have put hundreds of hours into it.
not even my game of the year of 2019
>8 hours of cutscenes
>80 hours of gameplay
>Ganker claims it's a movie game
ok
Every single Kojima game is mid as fuck, his best game is merely 8/10
But, I loved it. It turned me around from the konami hate train. Being a wagie most of my life helped, I could identify with sam rather easily. I think this game was made for people 30 and up. Nothing would have hit the way it did if I was half my age.
I just wanted a comfy mailman simulator, not this wacko DEAD DIEMAN shit.
I hated that it ended. One of the best games I played all 2022.
>death stranding is still filtering retards in 2023
Love to see it.
too easy, too shallow, no challenge whatsoever
not every game needs to be challenging sometimes it's nice to kick back and relax
I thought it was a decent movie.
I didn't love it but I did beat the game. The sequences where you turn into mario to escape le tar monster — those were pretty stupid. The game's story makes no sense and is garbage. But the game's also very relaxing to play, and its theme of reconnecting societal bonds dovetailed nicely with covid and quarantine crap. 8/10
But I did, I platinumed it 3 times.
The baby was cringe and the hour or so you don't have was the best part of the game
I liked the first hour
>get package & destination
>plot route, take supplies
>start journey
>navigate rough terrain, use traversal items, often checking map to ensure you're on track
>finally reach destination, bit of a breather then new package and new destination
Then it sucks
>GHOSTS
>VEHICLES
>GUNS
>MULES
>ROADS
Basically it is a game that does not respect the player's time.
Unironically, making it more than just "delivery simulator" in a weird futuristic empty world was the biggest mistake of that game. Fuck the ghosts, fuck the weird enemies, who GIVES a fuck, I just wanna deliver the mail as the world's most badass mailman.
Haven't even played it yet. But when I get a PS5 Pro this will be one of the first games I'll get for it along with FF16 and Elden Ring.
>Why didn't you like Death Stranding
It's not on GOG. No GOG = no buy.
