Why do people pretend to like this game? It's so slow and boring. The game also does a terrible job telling you where you need to go

Why must every thread about this game be about some retard pretending to not understand where to go?
>OH I NEED ATTENTION I'M ALONE I NEED ATTENTION AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
That's why Stacy picked Tyrone over you.
>Why do people pretend to like this game?
they don't pretend
>It's so slow and boring.
turn up the game speed dumbass
>The game also does a terrible job telling you where you need to go
that's because it doesn't tell you, you have to find out yourself retard
>turn up the game speed dumbass
This. I always tell people who want to play this game that the first thing you want to do after you start the game is to go into settings, turn combat speed to max, and run to ALWAYS.
> "Get waterchip from vault to the east"
> Go straight east to vault, village on the way but you ignore it
> Find it but can't go down without a rope... who could have a rope???
> Go to village
> Someone trades rope; also quest and companion
> Use rope to go down; waterchip no longer there
> go to village, ask about waterchip
> You get told that only some business dudes in the south might have one
> Go south, find big city
> Ask around, people direct you to waterchip in mutant ville
> Get waterchip, screw over some ghouls
> Go back to original vault
> "thanks but fuck off now please"
that's my strategy guide for the first part, after that you can just do whatever the fuck you want
>go outside
>go west
>go to mutants
>allow them to capture you
>tell them where the Vault is
>It's so slow and boring.
The combat is not slow and boring; Unless you are a zoomer with a short attention span who finds turn based strategy boring. Both the survivability of you and the enemy in most encounters are low and crits in this game are brutal. You are also almost always outnumbered to boot.
>The game also does a terrible job telling you where you need to go
The game has no way points like skyrim and doesn't appeal to your skyrim rotted brain? You have to talk to people to follow the leads you are given and some of them will point out areas on your map. Alternatively, some give you a rough direction of where to explore on the overmap. Unless you are skipping all dialog then you should always have a rough feel on what you need to do in order to progress.
The only real criticism is that the game is super slow and bare bones when it comes to the combat. Its a shame because fallout 2 still has the same shallow combat as the first game.
Fallout 2 is worse because it doesn't understand the combat isn't good enough to be the backbone of the game and just sprays that shit around everywhere
Fallout 1 is more of an adventure game hybrid that understands the combat is more of a violence simulator than gameplay and you can credibly play through without ever facing a hardcore combat
>Buff Unarmed to be pretty damn useful
>Add a billion small guns and energy weapons
>Melee still sucks shit
>Big Guns are practically unusable outside of two or three weapons
>Traps and throwing exist lol
It's worse given that there's more combat emphasis but only like three usable skills for it.
The combat is a bit too random in the early/mid-level. For example the Decard fight can be really hard or really easy depending on luck. By the time you're in Bonestown it should be a walk in the park even against the deathclaws
>t. Zoomer
i'm replying but fuck you for being so lazy with this b8
it works
>The game also does a terrible job telling you where you need to go
Skill (IQ) issue
ah I see a fellow nevada enjoyer
It's the only good CRPG, actually. Don't @ me BG2 nerds.
>The game also does a terrible job telling you where you need to go
I figured out where to go when I was 12 anon
I wish someone would make a Fallout 1 fan game that randomizes where the waterchip is when you start a new game and changes the clues
like sometimes the only one you can get is in the brotherhood of steel, sometimes it's still in necropolis, etc.
Fairly sure this wouldn't work in any meaningful way
>Why do people pretend to like this game?
Oh shut the fuck up gay I don't pretend nothing. The game is actually very good. I never played any Fallout game after the second and I also didn't play 1 or 2 until many years after they released. So you can't say its nostalgia either.
Hipsters gonna hipster. Fallout 1 had 175k lifetime sales. The people who have actually played this have aged out of the system.
it has an amazing story
post absolute kino moments from this game ITT
>[SPEECH 300%] have you ever seen super mutant babies, you dumbass?
>oh, no, my genius plan is foiled! I am gonna kill myself, thanks.
You have to have hard evidence from the BoS
The point is that Master should've figured it out by himself long time ago. And "Lieutenant told him everything was fine" is a lame excuse.
He's demented and the supermutants are hiding things from him
>The point is that Master should've figured it out by himself long time ago.
Why would he necessarily figure out? Furthermore, what makes you think he (it?) Isn't subconsciously in denial?
>Lieutenant told him everything was fine" is a lame excuse.
If he had delegated all of the tasks related to reproduction, then why wouldn't he trust his lieutenants word?
>Why would he necessarily figure out?
FEV made him super-intelligent.
>Furthermore, what makes you think he (it?) Isn't subconsciously in denial?
That's lame.
>If he had delegated all of the tasks related to reproduction, then why wouldn't he trust his lieutenants word?
Trust but verify.
>FEV made him super-intelligent.
Technically no, it turned him into a hivemind of sorts of amalgamated intelligence. Also, being super intelligent doesn't magically make you immune to seeing what you want to see.
>That's lame.
So? It's a very human failing which I think adds to the character, because deep down it's really just a man warped beyond recognition.
>Trust but verify.
The super mutants are (supposedly) 100% loyal to him with little notion of independence, even the intelligent ones. Trust but verify only applies on a context of potential disloyalty, which from the master's perspective is impossible.
>That's lame.
It’s almost like he’s so twisted both mentally and physically that he’s blinded to everything but his goal. No the psychotic flesh blob has to be a reasonable person
He's become one of my all time favorite vidya final bosses. You don't even have to kill him last either which is cool.
Filtered.
It's so much worser than Fallout 3 it's not even funny
Can i get the twitter stamp for hating games here?
Thanks, OP.
>NOOO IT'S NOT FAST ENOUGH FOR MY ADHD BRAIN
>NOOO IT'S NOT LEADING ME BY THE NOSE
>NOOO
You are a ruin of a human being, broken, you will never be whole.
>GUYS LOOK HOW SMART I AM FOR PRETENDING TO LIKE OLD THING
Just read the quest log on pip boy, you dumbass, if you are too dumb to figure it out, you are lucky that there are guides for every quest explained in detail so every retard could follow it
Whatshisface tells you there's a vault to the west and that that's a good place to start.
>yfw the first AI comes out that can take any face and make it look like they just ate 80 loads to the grill
We need more great games like this gay not less.
Falllout 1 is pretty easy and comfy. It’s 2 that sucks ass unless you’ve read a thorough guide spoiling everything beforehand.
