Without glitches, but with backwards compatibility and trading with the 9ther version at equal progress, the only post-game Pokémon in GS are >Murkrow >Midreavus >Sneasel >Slugma/Magcargo >Houndour/Houndoom >Porygon2 >Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar
If you include backwards compatibility, you can technically have Blissey through legitimate gameplay as early as Ecruteak City. Just evolve a Gen I Chansey. Can't get Porygon2 though because you can't get an Up-Grade before Gen II Celadon City.
If you have a single copy of Gold or Silver with no trading or backwards compatibility or glitches or events or Mystery Gift, you can still hit 199/251.
Evolution stones can also only be obtained from Mystery Gift, while you can only get one of each in the post-game from Bill's grandfather. So these are "Likely won't have before post-game but technically not impossible" >Ninetales >Arcanine >Flareon >Poliwrath >Cloyster >Starmie >Vaporeon >Vileplume >Victreebel >Exeggutor >Jolteon
You can get two Moon Stones (Tohjo Falls and once from your mother) before the post-game for Nidoqueen and Nidoking.
>my game is better because I can’t use fishing rods before the credits >my game is better because I can’t revive fossils before the credits >my game is better because I need to wait until the credits for swarms show up >my game is better because it has more retarded npcs arbitrarily blocking random routes and forcing me to walk down corridors
“postgame” is a massive fucking meme and it’s hilarious how unovafags act as if it’s a positive for their game even though it’s actually a massive detriment.
I got a Qwilfish before I even got to the second gym while playing Crystal because I got a swarm from a phone call. It sure feels good to play a good game instead of a dogshit one that arbitrarily locks stuff to “”postgame”” just so redditors can pretend it makes their game better.
>Gen 2 swarms are not the same thing as nugen swarms
Yes. That’s my point. I’m glad we agree.
> You can catch qwilfish in the exact same spot the exact same way without a swarm
Go actually read the encounter tables instead of embarrassing yourself.
The whole post-game argument is relatively inane. What we count as post-game is usually anything that can only happen after the first time we see the credits. Why does it matter? For some reason, a number of people see the credits and decide to never touch the game again. Some people even skip the credits and turn their game off immediately. Some people say that content that appears only after the credits doesn't count as actual content for the game even though in a number of games there are more things to do after the credits than there were before.
Each Pokémon does the same thing in battle, they're generally interchangeable in the single-player experience and you usually have to intentionally gimp yourself for their to be a semblance of challenge. There's a reason speedrunners tend to use 1-2 Pokémon, and that's because it's the optimal way to play with the least hassle. The games are usually designed to pace new encounters across the whole experience, with said experience ending when you can no longer get new encounters or content. What makes post-credits content any lesser than pre-credits content? Why arbitrarily end your experience when there's still meaningful content? You can access Cerulean Cave and catch Mewtwo only after Gen I's credits and that's bad because... it just is, okay?
Post-game in Pokémon is marked at the first time the credits roll, not the last time.
But whether or not content is "post-game content" should have no bearing on the quality of that content. Pokémon fans in particular have a peculiar habit of making surface level observations not backed up by any reasonable foundation. They don't think, they repeat what other people have said.
Buddy you forgot Porygon-Z and blissey
Porygon2 mb
Ask GF
Johtofags can't decide whether Kanto is postgame or midgame because they're always flip flopping
Added the non-legendary unobtainable Pokemon to Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum
It's obviously postgame for the purpose of this, or else there are zero postgame exclusives
How does gs have less pokemon locked in the postgame than crystal?
Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Celebi
Uuhhhhh XY??!? Where them native Pokemon at
BW2 is poorly made nupokemon slop designed for amerimutts

that's literally every pokemon game

I don't care about your genwar threads but I've recently realized the only place you can find houndour in the games they were fucking made is in Kanto
Literally wtf is that shit, it's like they made the game solely aimed at the "playground rumours" audience.

There's no post-game exclusive Pokemon in Gen 2, you unlock nothing from beating Red.

Because more total Pokemon existed. Stop pitting golden era chads against themselves.
