Playstation "games" are like that, they just come and go. And somehow sell millions. It was the same with Horizon, and this one seems like it's shaping the same way, I keep forgetting about it until someone else mentions it.

Miles Morales is one of the most boring characters ever created. Being forced to play as him is the most uninteresting thing this game has to offer
First game was bad, but at least it had Spidey. This one will be mostly moron and MJ. The gameplay reveal also sucked and most of it was just scripted chase sequences.

Hell no. I grew up with games like SM2000, Ultimate, and so on. That's the kind of Spider-Man I want. Especially Ultimate, or at least presentation on that level. I can't see Sony-Man 2 letting me eat kids.
Beenox did a bunch of games that were neither super safe nor ruined his character. But Beenox also clearly were fans of the source material, whereas Insomniac Spider-Man feels completely soulless.
Beenox's games had middling reception though.
I am saying this as someone that likes Insomniac's Spider-Man but thought that game was a bit shallow gameplay wise (Miles has a worse story but improved gameplay)
And yet I would replay any of them before I'd ever touch Sonyman again. Except for the TASM games, those kinda sucked.
It's funny how Beenox did the Spider verse before the spider verse comics and movies ever existed. That is quite inventive.
Hopefully the new Spidey has deeper gameplay. I live in NYC in Queens so its nice they expanded the map to include my borough.
It seems like the idea is being able to use both Peter and Miles, switching between them to use Symbiote abilities and Venom respectively. This'll probably change around the halfway mark or so unless Peter post-symbiote finds some way to replicate those abilities. I still gotta finish the first and Miles, I am dreading the first game's stealth sections but Miles has a decent pace ironically in part due to its reduced length as a sideshow attraction

I bought the first one expecting to get the same experience I had as a kid playing the psx one, but it's just a chore to get through it, you can't even do anything without getting interrupted, I'm 3 hours in and it feels like I barely played anything, it's just cutscene after cutscene and go to this place and do x.
Sorry, it bore me, it's not what I expected. The game for psx wanted to put everything in it, it was awesome, this one didn't even have Venom, felt like watching the first part of a movie trilogy or something.

People care but it's a sequel to a good game by a consistent developer. There's not much to talk about because literally everything shown would be a spoiler. They also learned their lesson by not showing so much.

I don't have a PS5 nor plan on ever getting one. Therefore, the inevitable PC release is the one I'll eventually get, but that's not happening until at least a year from now.
There's no reason for me to get excited right now. Especially since there's so many other games in this second half of the year that I'd rather focus on anyway.
Nobody cared about Ragnarok either and that game sold a fuckton. Spider-Man 2 will probably do so as well, unless it's PS5 exclusive. I'm assuming it's another cross-gen.
