fuck off
Better works in the genre than the tabletop or the CDPR game have good endings, retard.
They had to go out of their way to give you an unrealistically unhapoy one in PL.
saving the day but not really changing anything isn't a good ending, corpo scums will still continue to rule over everything, keep corrupting the government and make everyone's life miserable as it ever was from the start of the story
>saving the day but not really changing the overall setting isn't a good ending
A man who makes it through a war as a hero, saving himself and others, and not becoming a monster or broken for life is a happy ending. It's not an unhappy ending just because he didn't change the setting at large forever.
who are you talking to retard?
the ttg is also just a derivative of william gibson's world
the vast majority of cyberpunk media is just a derivative of william gibson's stuff
Even though they're the same genre, they're two completely different settings.
What you're doing would be complaining about Event Horizon not having a happy ending like Star Wars despite them both being science fiction.
I think you're mixing cyberpunk (literary genre) with cyberpunk (ttrpg). In cyberpunk (ttrpg), stories with bad endings are a trope and an actual part of the game and lore.
Better works in the genre than the tabletop or the CDPR game have good endings, retard.

The endings in 2077 ARE happy endings, you mouthbreathing retards.
V was dead. The Konpeki heist literally killed him and every other person involved in it. The mercs died, the netrunner support died, the fixer died, the client died. It was a complete fuckup that nobody walked away from. Only by a complete fluke, miracle of technology crossed with coincidence, that V was brought back for second chance - something that nobody else ever gets. He uses that second chance to achieve his dreams of becoming a legend, and as a reward for his efforts, he's granted another six months of life to spend how he wants - looking for a cure, settling down with his big booty mixed race desert wife, or running the Afterlife bar. Most people don't get second chances, even fewer get a third, and V got both.
As for Johnny - he was a failure and a fuckup, but he gets the opportunity to atone for his mistakes by coming to terms with himself, maturing, mentoring V, and getting closure with Rogue and his old bandmates,
You gotta understand these people are conditioned to accept only the most saccharinely blatantly wish fulfillment endings. They want V to not only survive the Relic but liv until he's 200 while also being rich, famous, respected AND fucking all the girls
>people think it's gay that V, someone canonically strong enough to 1v1 Adam Smasher, it written so retardedly that he doesn't even bring a gun to NC and gets beat up by street thugs >hurr They want V to not only survive the Relic but liv until he's 200 while also being rich, famous, respected AND fucking all the girls
>Calls me a retard >Mixes up two completely different endings to defend his idiocy >Doesn't even know the context of one of the endings he's mixing up
I know FOMO is scary but watching ending Youtube videos isn't the same as playing the game
You literally do not know what you are talking about. Everyone in this thread whining about "muh happy endings" completely lacks reading comprehension and cannot understand narrative themes.

I think keeping the body is better; Johnny has achieved everything he needed to do and it's time for him to finally be laid to rest. He made things right with Rogue and Kerry, he got his revenge on Arasaka, and he even guided a punk-ass merc to greatness. It's time for him to move on.
That being said, letting Johnny keep your body isn't a bad ending either.
Baring the dude who can't into media comprehension does Phantom Liberty lock you out of the base endings or can I complete it then still do the solo suicide raid
It just unlocks another ending that you can choose from after the PL missions are over. You don't have to do the new ending and can choose any of the others.
He gave V a second chance at life to go out on his own terms. Johnny learned from V and deserves his own second chance with the lessons he learned from V. Just how I feel about it. Don't fear the reaper, give Johnny your body now that V is the night city legend they always wanted to be. No living legends, but Johnny finally found something besides hate
the ending you open up for killing or handing over songbird isnt meant to be super happy because you made the wrong choice. also the only ‘bad’ endings are the one i mentioned with nusa, suicide, and johnny taking your body. misty even hints at whether an ending is good or bad based on the tarot cards
Don't Fear the Reaper is the good ending. Blue Eyes cured the korean backstabber and he will cure you too so you can become the Adam Smasher of the next game.
why
give literally any reason besides "just because"
trite bad endings are fucking retarded and they nullify the entire purpose of playing through the game
putting 50, 60, 70 hours into a game just to have it spit in your face is gay
if I wanted miseryporn I'd be engaging in the real world, not playing video games
Lmao its just a game you stupid homosexual. The world in it is bleak and depressing. Videogames are not there to prevent your sorry ass from killing yourself. Nobody owes you le happy endings go watch my little pony or better yet have a nice day stupid homosexual
Only the NUSA ending is actual misery porn, because the writers wanted you to remember DeShawn's "set your ass on fire or get the fuck out of the stage" nonsense from Act 1. All other ends are different flavors of "you still got it brah", especially the casino one.
But yeah I agree that the super-AI saying "oh by the way you will die, my super processing power totally didn't expect that, so wanna get vore'd?" was kind of shitty forced drama (the DLC did the same thing but way better since you can figure it out before it hits you).
Within the grander thematic context Night City is a Poison.
A Poison representing all that has gone wrong in the setting, a shining monument to what the morality of Pondsmith's vision considers bad.
A Poison so virulent and corrupting that just lingering within it for to long will ruin a person in some way.
Night City for those outside of it is also where one goes for glory and to make a name for themselves, to live fast and die hard.
The only winning move is at best not to play and at worst to get the fuck out before the city can take to much.
V wants that glory and grasps for it and by the time the Konpeki Heist happens he has sealed his fate in one way or another.
The Tower Ending gives V a chance to actually walk away but in doing so he has to give up everything gained along the way and yet freedom is a possibility again.

That's realistic, and it's clever use of a motif but to say a maxim is a theme like "good vs. evil," or "the savagery of man," is not the same. "blaze of glory, or quiet life.," isn't the same thing as the "Illusion of choice."

They beat you over the head with this theme all throughout the game and other stuff in the CP universe like the an*me
sinnerman is unironically the only good attempt at roleplaying cdpr made in this game
it's one of the only missions where there's actual stakes in that you can either follow through like a good merc and get locked out of a questline or let curiosity get the better of you
there are almost no other scenarios like this in cp2077
>get your full lifespan back >choose between becoming a fixer or becoming an intelligence analyst valued for his extensive knowledge of night city's inner workings (and potentially arasaka's if you have the corpo background)
seems OK to me

That's realistic, and it's clever use of a motif but to say a maxim is a theme like "good vs. evil," or "the savagery of man," is not the same. "blaze of glory, or quiet life.," isn't the same thing as the "Illusion of choice."
They beat you over the head with this theme all throughout the game and other stuff in the CP universe like the an*me
Devil ending is the good ending and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.
I loved this ending tbh
you prolly love beating your tiny balls with a meat hammer as well
lets stop pretending that world wouldn't be better without you people
>Actually doing the devil ending
Why?
Because I have no interest in simping for johnny or roping Rogue or Saul or anyone else into my personal schemes
Cyberpunk (since update) is one of the best games to come out in years and im tired of pretending it isnt.
Easily best game of the last 10 years.
havent played this game but keanu reeves seems annoying. can you tell him to fuck off and have him never bother you?
sinnerman is unironically the only good attempt at roleplaying cdpr made in this game
it's one of the only missions where there's actual stakes in that you can either follow through like a good merc and get locked out of a questline or let curiosity get the better of you
there are almost no other scenarios like this in cp2077
The new ending was happy and i'm tired of pretending it wasn't
>get your full lifespan back
>choose between becoming a fixer or becoming an intelligence analyst valued for his extensive knowledge of night city's inner workings (and potentially arasaka's if you have the corpo background)
seems OK to me
except you don't get that choice because fuck roleplay in an RPG :^)
find it telling that people defending CDPR are all using reddit memes
because it was made by europeans
they're allergic to things that aren't abysmal like their future.
meanwhile people play starfield just to mentally vomit at everything about it and go to cp and relax with things making sense finally
>game where you die at the end of the first act a-la dead man
>yeah this needs a happy ending
>happy or depressing are the only possible endings
fuck nuance, right?
The nu ending is so comically over the top you can tell how hard they were seething when they wrote it
borowing it from my friends steam acc
this game is filtering me hard cannot play it
Im at that first mission where you meet AV or something like that just after the tutorial
i have a 970 and shit looks like crap, ui is shit, headshots dont oneshot
hate that robot lore shit, hate the hacking shenanigans
wish I could enjoy it
get a job you literal fucking zoomer
wont upgrade my pc just to play goyslop
older than you
fitter than you
taller than you
gf is hotter than your whole family combined
simple as
it literally has one, its the jhonny takes your body ending, you clearly didnt do the buddism side quests
The Star ending is the good ending as far as I'm concerned.
Especially since the tarot cards Misty fucks around with imply that V survives this ending.
>do all quests and gigs
> get million $
>Do reeds surgey ending
>Come back in 2 years
>Retire from murdering people
There's no happy endings in unchecked capitalism chud.
Idk just don't complete main story mission
