Why does it seem like 90% of the AAA games are just remasters and remakes? Where are the original games?

Ever since the industry decided to paint itself into an unsustainable pattern of ever increasing budgets and constantly expecting higher profits the act of creating an original game became remarkably riskier. With development time taking half a decade or more for big budget games there's little to no room for creative thinking as there's a hundred people putting their fingers into the pie to make sure the game is as safe to make as possible. Publishers aren't interested in making good games. They're interested in profits. A good game is profitable, but as you retarded fucking customers have proven to them, a bad game can also be profitable. It's much more cost effective to make a bad game that people buy anyway than it is to make a good game that people want to buy. They don't need to put money into development when they can just put money into marketing.
they suck
give me a new IP that came up in the last 5 years that wasn't trash
Sekiro
Elden Ring
ok i agree
I was talking about western games
Skyrim
retard skyrim came 12 years ago
Those are just fucking Demon's Souls sequels. Let's be honest.
>casualsouls with a samurai skin slapped on
>casualsouls with open world multiplayer slapped on
Right here moron now put your money where your mouth is and support good original games
>'MEMBER THE EARLY 2000s, FELLOW KIDS??
>Well, except the part with all the dyke cuts and lesbianism, but we can't pander to previous generations without a little Current Year can we?
No thank you.
because you did zero research
>The Earth is flat. Don't believe me? Then do your own research.
corporations can't make original games.
small teams can.
corporations wait around for an original game to come out and then they either buy it or try (and fail) to clone it.
>lists the same game twice
>both of which were remakes of remakes
the gaming industry has reached a point where they are fucking up at even rehashing brands for sequels, so now they are resorting to releasing the exact same game 1-1 but now with "modern sensibilities" because theres no way to fuck it up (they still fuck it up)
Is this a Mandala thing?
>Mandala
They still make them, Your brain literally just passes over them because they seem so unappealing.
Don't you want to play Forspoken, or Deathloop, or Star Wars: Bland, or The Avengers: Bland?
They are creatively bankrupt and this is the best they can do. Have you seen Forspoken? That's the original game you want? They know they can't make original games anymore without risking it all. Much better to keep remaking. That's why indies and small studies can afford original games.
Salt&vinegar is the goat flavor, don't @ me
i thought that thte pringle's man had hair, but they were eyebrows the whole time?
god, i do not want to live in this world anymore.
Who would win in a knife fight, Pringles guy or Mr. Monopoly?
Pringles guy has a longer reach to reach into the tube, but Monopoly guy has the cane for defense.
They turned his fucking hair into floating eye brows?!
His mustache look like some sinister open mouth.
>Where are the original games?
there are no original AAA games anymore
reason is that stock market investors wont risk investing money into a game that wont make a guaranteed return on profit, so instead they make AAA studios crap out endless sequels, DLC and remasters.
Everything has pretty much been done and everything new is just the same, but a lil different. Exactly how life is.. please God kill me...
In a sense, I don't mind remakes and remasters. It makes sense to redo a game that's a fan darling.
Hopefully, down the line, there is always a way to play the untouched original. The arcade area in Street Fighter 6 could have the original RE4 playable, for instance--that would be dope.
Sort of seems like the movie industry where remakes are standard and celebrated, almost like Broadway plays. See 'our version' of Spiderman for a limited time.
The biggest issue with games is how much easier they are becoming to make. More people are making games than ever before and getting better at it, and people are expecting more from games as a medium, despite a consistent push back to dumb things down for younger and younger generations.
I get the sense that companies are waiting for the next big tech breakthrough before taking riskier bets.
I hope we have a push toward demakes. Id love a wave of playstation level graphic fidelity games that don't cost so much to produce, but are a fun place to shop gaming ideas and projects.
I wish there was HoMM 2 HD.
It is already beautiful but just imagine it gets the same work as Sonic 2 HD.
Beautiful hand painted frames.
60fps, 4K. Awesome shader vfx, for spells and attacks. Even rotoscope style just for fun.
The orchestra tracks have janky VSTs where each note has a harsh beginning, like someone let a bad sample be used. This can be better, just HQ vsts and actual instruments.
As for games in general, I'm seeing a spammy level of meh.
