If they were going to ripoff Resident Evil, they should've gone for a first-person SH1 remake; that shit would've rocked.

SH1 was already butchered with a shitty film adaptation and a meh "reimagination" on Wii.

The longer the lard-ass normie zoom zooms ignore its existence, the better.
      Case example, this homo:

Because it wasn't anywhere near as good, next question.

      It's a shit game

SH1 is literally the best game in the franchise, and thus one of the very best survival horror games ever made.
Anything SH2 is praised for, 1 did first, and most likely better.

The 2006 SH film is just for fanservice sake; regardless, it was a horrible adaptation.
As for the shattered memories set in another universe, sharing the game's original premise was just awful on its own.

Harry's story is very (seemingly) simple. His daughter got lost in spooky town, he goes to save her, he sorta, kinda rescues her, the end. There's no development, there's no intrigue, there's no themes. The biggest thing you get is "oh the town is this way because that's this tortured girl's perception of it" which is pretty straightforward.

Not really, it holds up pretty well, imo.

SH1's meaning is found in the thoughts and feelings of the town and the otherworld, especially the otherworld segments. SH1's art design has never been matched, not that later games even have bad art design but SH1 really felt like the concept at its most intense.

See, this is where I think you're wrong. Of all SH titles SH1's plot is probably the one that leaves players most confused. Most people will only play through a game once, usually just trying to find whatever progresses the game and not fully explore areas. SH1 was specifically designed with the idea of the player needing to replay the game numerous times to take in the full narrative, it's something not even SH2 was daring enough to try repeating.

Sure, but that's not something that you can explore in the story or discuss on a deeper level, It's atmosphere, it's background, it's done very well but there's not much substance to argue or get different interpretations

I just think the town was best executed in 1 since it felt the most open world out of all of them. 2 was essentially honeycombed with sizable areas being bottlenecked by mandatory dungeons. 3 was completely linear in comparison.

I agree but 2 was the only game to actually do this correctly. Most of what was left over from the original developers wanted to continue exploring this theme but Konami made them make a sequel to 3 which they didn’t want to do.

      It's because of brainlets like

So many people either watch the dog shit film and think it followed the game at all or if they play SH1 they see a cult exists and decides the cult is the central plot point. I don't genuinely do not grt it, the cult is mentioned as a background element to help establish Dahlia and Kauffman's motivations and connection to one another. We see that by the time the game occurs Dahlia has betrayed the cult and seeks to use Alessa's abilities for her own gain. The cult is already disbanded and only returns after the events that occured in SH1 by Claudia and Vincent.

SH1 and SH2 are fundamentally completely different settings that are superficially the same.

SH1 was a normal town that had all of its inhabitants killed by a demonic invasion and the physical world is literally being merged with Hell.

SH2 is an alternate parallel reality that exists alongside the real world and is the product of Eldritch Horrors worshipped by Native Americans and draws in people suffering from their own internal demons so that they can experience their personal Hell.

Because of remaking it in an original CGI style is the only true way.

SH1 wasn't too popular in the west because christhomosexuals find it too offensive, they prefered the shitty walking simulator instead. in Japan SH2 flopped badly because they wanted to know more about SH1 plot, they fix that making SH3.
