In addition to the stealing and breaking already mentioned McDonald’s has also severely cut down on pandering to kids in the past decade and a half. Most stores got rid of the playground area and the main areas are sterile as fuck now. All thanks to pearl clutchers saying the clown and company were making kids fat so they had to go. First Ronald lost all his supporting cast and now he too is missing outside of the Ronald McDonald House thing.

I’d guess it’s a mixture of the general upkeep of it as well as the appearance they’ve tried to uphold with newer McDonald’s places. I’m guessing kids would wreck those controllers and stands all the time, get sauces/food stuck in shit, and just come in to play the game (I knew plenty of parents who would basically drop them off there as a temporary daycare for an hour or two). That and a lot of McDonalds these days, at least from what I’ve seen while driving by, seem to be trying to look more modern and "mature" with sleeker exteriors and more coffee shop-esque artinside. They probably want to put some distance away from the kids friendly look they had for so many years.

No. Nobody wants to work due to Biden throwing out “free” (i.e. taxpayer) money, so most places are so short staffed they can only barely keep the drive through open, much less the dining area which would require additional cleaning etc.
