  9. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

    I'll tell you why.

    >Boring lore
    >Shitty fricking aesthetic
    >generic wood elves, don't even have an interesting Fae spin on them like Warhammer, besides a wood obsession and cannibalism they have a very generic culture that is very droll and boring to roleplay
    >Altmer, Dunmer, Dwemer, and even Falmer and Orc lore blow Bosmer out of the fricking water, the only barely interesting thing is a tiny bit of their lore around their leadership and their mages, the Spinners, and that's literally it, there's no distinctly fascinating culture like the Dunmer or the Altmeri, their cities aren't much to look at and should've had their own chapter DLC instead of getting the shitty generic base game cities, there was hardly any effort
    >Valenwood barely has anything interesting going on despite massive opportunity for it looking at the vast lore of Morrowind and everywhere else

Basically you either play a Altmer or a Dunmer, clowns pick Bosmer

It's been 8 years, so it's improved drastically since. They've added 2 classes on top of the original 4, with another (Arcanist) coming out this summer.

Devs are extremely incompetent though and always cause some major bug to occur with every major update. They take no criticism either, apparently

I hear they did same patch last year that somehow ruined the entire game for a lot of older players. What exactly did they do if you know?

          Anonymous

not him and i havent played in years but my buddy does, ur probably talking about the update where they nerfed damage by like 25% which made some of the content a lot harder.

they fricked up when they initially made the game and it was possible to do whats called 'weaving' which is where u press a skill thats on a cooldown and then weave in a light attack between each one to cancel the animation. they never fixed it and basically just built the game around it and since they nerfed the damage by so much it basically became required to clear a lot of the content from what my buddy was saying

          Anonymous

Oh, that. Yeah, they basically butchered the combat and rotation dps to the point that some end game bosses would have been impossible to defeat. It got so bad that the devs had to make statements saying "just trust us. We know what we're doing".
Funny enough, they quietly realized they shit the bed. To compensate player's lost dps, they reduced every boss's health by about 5 to 10% I believe.

It's pretty gravy now, but I do know a lot of players quit the game after that patch. Even I find myself getting burn out every few months.

It's even more mediocre. The world has been deleveled and everywhere is now on easy mode except group dungeons. On top of that Zenimax has completely abandoned veteran and PVP players. Only play ESO if you actually like exploring Tamriel, and don't give them a cent. The only good part of the game nowadays is the worldspace and some of the lore.

    >Cuz I play as a Golden Saint with VA, b***hes
    >They're pretty G as a race ethnically, but the amount of time to genuinely play as a character in a TES is already far too high to have it be a secondhand consideration
    >Breton is the pure white-blood race

    >misfit beings that couldn't hold any one form given a second chance by The Green to exist in stability in exchange for not actively harming the plantlife
    >on the whim of a callous personification of Earth or if they reach a certain threshold of despair and fury they can shed their physical form, return to the genuine literal chaos they are and wreck havoc as a shapeless mass of teeth claws and any manner of hellish fleshform their fragmented consciousness can recall long enough to form out of possibility
    >in-game the men are sniveling wienerney runts that never do anything interesting
    >in-game the women are just shallow hippies or yet another girlboss
    >in-game depictions of the whole shapelessness aspect simply means if a werewolf isn't a Nord then it's probably a Bosmer
    >in-game depictions of the whole 'no harming the plantlife' outside of books just means the occasional tent made of bones and leather as well as the off-hand mention of only eating meat

the TES audience is too casual for the Bosmer to ever really shine and I doubt anyone left in bethesda wants to do a worthwhile depiction anyhow. Wasted Potential: the race.

At least they're spared from a Cyrodiil-tier retconning. I have to mod in katanas to roleplay as a proper Nibenese adventurer, and even that feels hollow.

    they're ugly elves
    they're short manlets
they're never important in any of the games or have any stakes in the world
    they're smelly cannibal savages
    they live in trees
    they most definitely smell bad
their deities are dumb so it's hard to care about their religion
    terrible boring armour and themes
not a single one of them has any direct interesting lore in the games, only references to something cooler (at least you can interact with all the different types of khajiit in the mmo)
I only play male characters in these games for self insert immersion (I am 6'2 so b*smer is not immersive for me) and/or so I can frick all the hot babes.

Why on earth would I ever want to play as a b*smer?
    Actual race of fruit flies.

Because they aren't accurately portrayed anywhere in the games. To play a PC of one that actually follows the green pact would take forever to play. how long would it take to eat 1 Person? How many people do you kill in game? Every animal? Gotta eat them. The only way to get around this is to make all bosmer outside of Valenwood not follow the greenpact which is such a cop out and ruins the lore.
