Laziness probably
Dragon Age didn't even invent that design.
>all that effort when 90% of the players are going to pick human male warrior
tough to convince investors you need to do something like that instead of just adding time-wasting pseudo-rpg carrot-dangling/gacha/whatever else garbage
Dwarf Noble >>>> the rest
>want to frick over Bhelen
>Harrowmont is a moronic retrograde
>can't put crown onto my head Napoleon style
Fug
All choices are shit
Although there is no other rpg with dorf autism like that
I suffer....
You do Harrowmont's quests but then give the crown to Bhelen at the end. Your family line remains on the throne, the dwarves don't get a moronic king, and Bhelen gets reminded he's still your little b***h
Guess you missed Cyberpunk?
OP said RPGs.
Yeah, RPGs.
Or are you actually implying Cyberpunk is an action game? It has more stats and stat distribution than it does gameplay. It's literally more RPG than it is a game.
Different intro mission, couple of "Well where I grew up" lines in dialogue. A couple irrelevant side-missions.
>Nothing affects story.
>nothing affects ending.
Did you think I was talking about Cyberpunk?
I was actually talking about both games.
>Or are you actually implying Cyberpunk is an action game?
Cyberpunk is a turn based game? Didn't know that.
>Guess you missed Cyberpunk?
it was just the 10 minute tutorial mission and nothing else.
Just like dragon age
One single Dragon Age origin level is longer than all 3 Cyberpunk origins COMBINED
and has more impact on the plot
Objectively incorrect, and the quality of even a single line of cyberpunk's dialogue is higher quality and better written, achieving more than the entirety of Dragon age's script
same applies to dragon age
That's literally what Cyberpunk 2077 did with life paths, and contarian dipshits still to this DAY complain because apparently choosing a specific life path should lock you out of certain options/endings because uhhhhh it just should, okay?
Never mind that Cyberpunk was an infinitely better game than origins, origins is old and no longer in the popular zeitgeist so therefore it is good, despite every single mechanic in it being worse than cyberpunk
People make fun of it because it had zero impact outside of a 5 minute intro that all led to the same thing.
So just like Dragon Age, you frickwit?
No
nice way of saying you didn't play the game
Romance was better in Origins though. I'm playing DAO right now and the romance between my Warden and Leliana had more chemistry and felt more real than the romance between V and Panam, and I didn't even tried romancing Morrigan, which most people claim to be canon romance or whatever. The plot is also much better constructed and executed than Cyberpunk. Funny how a 2009 game can excel in some things where a 2020 game can't. Dragon Age Origins had soul put into it while Cyberpunk didn't.
>Romance was better in Origins though.
yeah, because of Morrigan. the others were mid.
morrigan would never lower herself to go for a manlet
then why she constantly craves her son's wiener?
>studio fow
Funny because I can't imagine Morrigan having sex with a dwarf. It would be too low for her.
Heh, what can I say? I like redheads.
>Leliana
i shiggy diggy
>romance in video games
how pathetic is your life that you can only find intimacy through escapism?
L M F A O
intimacy in real life with just anyone, now that's the easiest thing in the world.
Intimacy with a big-eyed deep-voiced broody elvish ex-slave is another matter entirely.
Like you didnt romance Leliana, you homosexual. Its basically another gameexperience exclusive to these kind of genres. Not everybody likes the autistic numberscrunching from Diablo 2 and WOW.
Cyberjunk 2069 is just a raytracing techdemo, bro. I dont even consider it a real game. LMAO!
romancing saga did that in 1992
Because Dragon Age is for queers.
Reminder that Cailan was a moron and would have doomed Ferelden chasing his fanciful delusions of grandeur.
only because Loghain went full /misc/ and blocked any sort of Orselian help under the paranoia that they would take over Ferelden from within AND that the Blight was fake news created by Orlais.
Glad the game let you execute that traitor
>that they would take over Ferelden
he was right btw
>he was right btw
Ferelden is still free in DA Inquisition.
>Ferelden is still free
because of Loghain
>Ferelden is still free in DA Inquisition.
Yeah, because Cailan died before he could frick over everything by trying to make himself a legend.
People tend to focus mostly on Loghain's personal feelings when it comes to Cailan's 'diplomatic relations' with Orlais, but he was 100% right that Cailan was making a frickkng gigantic mistake.
Inquisition is not canon
Same as 2
>plays the "NOT CANON" card to defend his delusions
I accept your concession
>blocked any sort of Orselian help under the paranoia that they would take over Ferelden from within
Which they would have.
Of all the things Inquisition did wrong it at least showed that Orlais is a fricking political circus of maniacs.
>Which they would have.
then why is Ferelden still free in DA:I? 10 years after the events of DA:O with Loghain being dead for those 10 years
>then why is Ferelden still free in DA:I?
Because Cailan's death stopped Orlais from getting a proper foothold in Ferelden.
they still could of done a full invasion on a Ferelden weakened by the Blight but as of DA:I, they haven't.
Orlais is not a military nation, they're a political powerhouse that operates through espionage, subterfuge, and carefully planned out events. Their grand plam was to have the daughter if their Empress marry Cailan in an 'equal marriage' and using that as a leverage point through which to infiltrate, subsume, and absorb Ferelden's nobility.
>Their grand plam was to have the daughter if their Empress marry Cailan in an 'equal marriage' and using that as a leverage point through which to infiltrate, subsume, and absorb Ferelden's nobility.
that is what Loghain wanted you to think
A better question is why they never continued that one Flash game they made before DAO came out that introduced the world. They only got to chapter 1 before abandoning it.
based obscure flash game enjoyer
that game even has deep lore because it featured talking darkspawn before Awakening
what flash game
nvm I found it on newgrounds of all places
although really cool and offers extensive amounts of replay value, its a burden on development. most people play a game once or twice so they end up making content most won't play
better they focus time on making the main story longer
i'd like to see this feature in a shorter game though
Reminder that regardless of your pick all of the other origin characters still exist in the world, but without Duncan there to save them they end up dead.
do we ever run across the dwarf noble on the deep roads?
No, but there are plenty of mentions of the middle son who killed the eldest one and got exiled.
>top row:
>All men are self confident, proud and based.
>bottom row:
>all women are seethe at the men above them
Soul
The elf is seething because an Arl's son kidnapped her and her friends on their wedding day in order to rape and kill them.
except she wants it
She isn't mad because of the kidnapping.
She's mad because his dick was too small.
How do you remember all the names of these forgettable characters
was it even relevant? all I remember about this shitty game was how completely broken shield warrior was, the big kingsmoot duel or whatever with that homosexual with long hair that I can't remember the name of, he didn't even hit me once lol
we got it, you are a PRO gamer.
now frick off.
I love Fenris!
Fenris is the Lightning of DA
Fenris is cute!
Rivalmancing Fenris as a mage is peak hatefrick kino.
>"frick mages"
>*throws bottles*
>"i wish i could quit you"
the rival paths in DA2 are so much better than the friendship ones it's not even funny, even if you're not doing the romance
I liked Fenris when I played DA2 but damn it was hard to get his friendship.
Dragon Age Origins was pure KINO from a better world from a better time.
it's their best work
pay 12 VA's main rates or have your MC be mute
>be me
>pick dalish elf
>get to the dalish elf portion of the game
>finally.jpg
>"lol, sorry we're from a DIFFERENT set of dalish elves. we don't really give a shit about you."
>mfw
Automatically sided with the werewolves afterwards.
Even more confusing is the fact that our Dalish elf has a different last name (Mahariel) from their clan (Sabrae).
What is up with that?
You're adopted
>we don't really give a shit about you
That's not true, they are pretty welcoming towards Dalish, compared to other origins.
CDPR tried something like that with 2077, but with a fraction of the depth.
